Finally.... the warmest day yet! After work today, it was the perfect time to get back out and take a walk. Have always enjoyed these views overlooking Harrisburg. Took a nice jaunt around the neighborhood.
Look at this little adorable gate house...and yes, someone lives there. The rest of the house goes down the hill behind the house.
I have always loved the design of this house. And it's built right on edge of a huge cliffside, high above the Susquehanna River. The owners would see the view of the opening pictures from their house daily.
Buster on his spring walk...I'm sure happy about the warmer weather too.
And remember last week I mentioned all those lawn crocuses?
The garden is finally waking up!!!! And I have no idea where the crocus came from in the lawn...I never planted any there unless squirrels dug them up and reburied them.
After work yesterday, I took my first run along the river, something I haven't done since I lived in downtown Harrisburg. Caught this right before sunset.
I think it's safe to say, spring is finally coming.
Your photos do Harrisburg proud, sweetpea! That last photo is exquisite! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI do hope it hurries up here. It's been eternal wind, rain and grey skies. Yuk.
ReplyDeleteOh that little gate house. I could get the housework done in no time!
Buster looks amazing. I so miss my little Lottie. It's been seven months and I still cry for her.
Thank you for the lovely post. It gladdens my heart. Xx
We still get teary eyed over Lillith, there just couldn't have been a dog with such a swell and gentile personality. I have slowly started looking at rescue dogs for another....
DeleteYes, I'm enjoying this current weather while we have it.
That would be a perfect house for me too Christina. I feel you too. Right as I moved out of my home to downsize, my little Sasha died. So it been a whole new way of life for me. I'm looking to get another dog, since I'm alone here on the shore.
DeleteLove those photos of the spring crocuses and daffodils!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty city, filled with fun and pretty people.
ReplyDeleteI still go to Philly and Bucks County a lot. I just wish the city offered more downtown to do. It has become a huge sleeper city, even during the day.
DeleteGreat river and bridge views, but, you know me, it's the houses I find interesting; the little A-frame gate house, and the modern white house and the 50s looking mid-century. Love.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very, varied and interesting neighborhood, not one where all the houses look cookie cutter. That modern house is quite spectacular. I have always loved loved it and I like how there is the little connecting structure between the front and back of the house. It's very Fire Island.
DeleteWonderful pics. That Gate House looks like a Tiny House A-Frame. Kinda cool that's all you see from the street.
ReplyDeleteIt's Spring!!!
ReplyDeleteI've also started seeing little flowers everywhere. Love the photos! Going for walks is always so very relaxing to me...
XOXO
Excellent photo along the river! And I think I know right where you are. I have been to a party once at in that neighborhood. The homes are so cool and unique and the park there has excellent views. Im in the process of moving from Hershey to Harrisburg soon.
ReplyDeleteGlorious pictures!!!! I have been to Harrisburg years ago. Cute city. I have never seen it from that vantage point! Amazing shot. But those lawn crocuses made me happy seeing them. I did a potted bulb garden, so far they are pushing up.
ReplyDeleteVery cool house!!!!! Very modern and beach like. These crocus scream spring...and about time.
ReplyDeleteThat place looks welcoming, and I'm always down for the uniqueness of an a-frame house.
ReplyDeleteI see you were over in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteMy other uncle has lived in Neigly Park since early 80's. A nice part of Camp Hill.
DeleteSquirrels and rain have wiped out my crocus. I hope they don't have the same effect on the Gingerbread House. There are however plenty of plants in flower in the garden out of season. First of the tulips shouldn't be long now.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love all the flowers! I seem to be unfurling myself, finally! How is Buster doing? He's so stinkin' adorable!
ReplyDeleteDuchess Deedles....he turned 17 in November!!!!!
DeleteHe's looking good for his age! Bella will be 18 in August if she survives her vet visit on Saturday. She looks a lot older than Buster. She's losing weight even though her appetite hasn't diminished at all. Meanwhile, Cujo is getting fatter while having no appetite to speak of. He'll be 10 in July, so I've got two senior dogs on my hands. I hit 68 yesterday and feel in the same boat, except Bella is still doing zoomies and expects me to do them with her. Fat Chance (my new faux drag name)!
DeleteLMAO! You're on fire this week...and a Happy Birthday to you my dear friend!!! I hope you had a good day.
DeleteI hope Bella does well. 18 is quite something as is 17! I never had a dog live as long as Buster. I didn't even know dogs lived that long, did you? Fat Chance?!?! Oh... that is a good one.
It felt a bit Spring-like here in London today, too - we had some quite lovely sunshine this afternoon. Of course, it started raining I got out of the office to go home...
ReplyDeleteOur Tete-a-Tete daffs and crocuses were so early, they're are all but over now, but the white Thalia daffs are looking lovely, and we have a few tulips in bud. It's the Spring Equinox next week, so it's almost here! Jx
It almost reached 80 degrees today!
DeleteTundra Bunny here...
ReplyDeleteIt snowed here again last night, so spring still seems a long way off. However, your crocuses, daffodils and Buster's irresistibly cute mug made my dreary day sunnier!
MORE SNOW!!!!! It's almost as bad as Crocs!!!
DeleteHow lovely, especially the crocuses. Or Crocii. whatever.
ReplyDeleteThe lawn crocuses are beautiful! The flowers of mine get eaten by deer or trampled by nieces & nephews.
ReplyDeleteThat final photo of the sunset bridge is gorgeous!
love your dog
