Thanks to the Polar Vortex, this winter has been unbearable for most. But have no fear, after a long winter here in the Northeast corridor spring has finally sprung. The mountains of snow are gone, the last two weeks were nice and mild, the grass is greening, and the temps are getting nice. Today and this weekend it's slated to be in the low to mid 70's already, which means all the flowers are starting to bloom......
Peonys
Asters
Poppys
Freesia
Tulips
Pear Blossoms
Gladiolas
Philadelphus
And my personal favorite,
Bird of Paradise
I can be so vulgar at times.
I was enjoying the flowers and then for some reason I forgot all about flowers!
ReplyDeleteWOW! that last flower is a knockout!
ReplyDeleteenter THAT one in next year's philly flower show and watch the pearl-clutchers scream!
Yes, I believe your right. Those blue hairs probably never saw that variety
DeleteThe Bird of Paradise is beautiful, I'll take a dozen.
ReplyDeletePromise me, not all at once.
DeleteHappy Spring, and glad to hear your out of the winter hell! Very breathing taking post in many ways!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring... I'm surprised I was able to concentrate long enough to say that after seeing that last flower. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMistress, you sure have a fine selection of stems. I too am glad spring is here-finally!!!
ReplyDeleteBring on spring. we're ready! I LOVE poppy's and peonies, and it's been awhile since I have seen a Bird of Paradise. Too long.
ReplyDeleteLovely bouquet, and now it's time for the sniff test...
ReplyDeleteLast time I did the sniff test, I got poked in the eye, so watch it.
Deletewell, if ever there was an expert.......
DeleteI will guess it also has very fine nectar.
DeleteThat's a handsome set of blooms.
ReplyDeleteThe snow is finally melting here; there are circles of ground appearing at the bases of trees. It might not sound like much, but when the ground hasn't been seen since December, it's an event.
Thanks for the pretty post; a lovely preview of things to come.
Thank you Tomass!
DeleteI too am looking forward to your spring delights through your lens!!!! Glad to hear your getting a break finally.
