Three fabulous bitches at dinner!
Well, as you guess by now I was VERY EXCITED about seeing the Alexander McQueen Exhibit over the weekend, and that was one reason I went to New York City. It was also to see my wise cracking old, old, dear friend and sister Mame, aka David Dust, and meeting the colorful, chic and fabulous Designing Wally from over at A Queen's Queen. We all met up in Astoria at a lovely Greek-Cypriot restaurant,Aliada. Well..... don't you know we all showed up wearing the same dress, only different patterns!!!! We all hit it off, and were like hens cackling about bygone days, our drinks of choice, and all the juicy gossip! And all the delish food we washed down with three bottles of wine, you know, to make sure the food went down! It was a very dronken nice evening and I have the feeling we will all meet again on a return trip, and Wally is just as sweet and colorful as I though he would be!!! Y'all know I love me colorful people! After getting about four hours sleep, it was time to head to the Met for some art!
Is this not a gorgeous front entrance way of this home on Park Avenue? Love how regal it is with the iron work and the cascade of green vines. It was then on to the Met to see the Alexander McQueen Event which you can read following this post. After our three hour tour in the Alexander McQueen event, I also wanted to check out the rooftop garden which was featuring the Sculptures by Anthony Caro, who is considered the most influential and prolific British sculptor of his generation, and a key figure in the development of modernist sculpture over the last sixty years—are featured in the 2011rooftop installation. Plus it was a nice time to sit and have a cold beverage and enjoy the spectacular views and the nice breeze.
On our way out of the Met we also went through the American wing to check at the nudes that were posing for us!
When we arrived back to Mame's after our long day and the late night before Mame fixed me a lovely plate of Stella Der's and a fabulous International cheese platter!!!! It went lovely with a few cock-a-tails!
We lounged like ladies of leisure the rest of the day while having cock-a-tails, listening to old school ditties, and talking about stories with the old gang. Then it was off for some art at the Urges Lounge where their were many starving artist to give some ones too. They for some reson like you to put the ones in there g strings!!! And of course more cock-a-tails! We won't even discuss Sunday morning ,except that Mame out did herself on a lovely brunch she painstakingly made! And let me tell ya, bitch makes a killer brunch!!!!! After that, she called my Lincoln Town Car to haul my supple ass to Penn Station to head back to the Casa du Borghese! Thanks girls for wonderful memories and a very nice time! Thank God I had Monday to re coup. Tootles y'all!
Damn - That International Cheese plate doesn't look half bad!
