.....in the garden! Bouvier II and what might be another sighting of his girlfriend!
Exciting times at the Casa du Borghese!!!! The white squirrel that had been spotted before in other part of the neighborhood, was seen when I arrived home today! But I could never understand why we didn't see one in our yard. At the time most thought there were two. But now there has to be at least four in the vicinity. I hadn't seen Bouvier II for about a week and a half, and low and behold this scene today! Maybe baby albinos are in the future!!! And it seems to be very trusting and curious. I rushed in to get some walnuts.
How exciting!!!! I have since deemed her Blanca.
I really need to get out more.
Should have called her "Irene Dunne". White fur was her forte... 😄Jx
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should rename her?
DeleteThat squirrel doesn't look real! How awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a white squirrel until this year
DeleteI have never seen a white squirrel before. All hail, Blanca!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of them but never saw one in person.
DeleteTundra Bunny here...
ReplyDeleteBlanca is absolutely ADORABLE -- Bouvier II is one lucky squirrel! However, I don't think Blanca is an albino squirrel as she doesn't have red eyes and she has some light brown hairs on her head and tail. She is most likely a very rare, but naturally occurring animal with recessive genes, like white moose, spirit bears, stag deer in Scotland and corvids such as ravens & crows. Unfortunately, such creatures are easily preyed upon and thus, not observed by us humans very often. It would be really interesting to see what their babies look like, LOL!
Well you cleared that up. Now I'm wondering......the first time I saw months ago that one it had red eyes....this one doesn't.
DeleteTundra Bunny again...
DeleteIf four such white squirrels have been spotted in your neighbourhood, there very well could be a couple of true albinos with red eyes and pure white fur! Obviously, you and your neighbours have created safe spaces for these rare squirrels to thrive, so kudos to you, Maddie!!
The one with the red eyes(I posted about that months ago with the red eyes) creeped me out a bit. Looked mean. Haven't seen it since.
DeleteBlanca is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBlanca's drag sure stands out from the crowd. Lucky you were to have captured the photos.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get a picture of the one in the park...to no avail. Never thought I'd see one in the back garden!!!
DeleteWow! Just beautiful! Thank you! Xx
ReplyDeleteBlanca is gorgeous and you’ve got a new friend. Maybe I need to get out more, too (well no doubt lately) but I find this really exciting.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see her this morning.
DeleteHow sweet. There are albino squirrels at the University of Louisville, seeing one on the way to an exam is a good omen. (Along with putting a coin in Justice Brandies's grave - be in interred under the front porch of the law school.).
ReplyDeletelove your squirrels!
ReplyDeleteOMG
ReplyDeleteThe adventures!!!!
XOXO
Some days I feel like Little Edie!
DeleteBlanca is adorable!
ReplyDeleteJust imagine how beautiful Bianca's kits would be if she were mated with a red squirrel.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty she is!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever seen a white squirrel! That is too cool.
ReplyDeletethere all after your nuts.
ReplyDeleteOh Mistress! That is amazing. I never saw a white squirrel before.
ReplyDeleteA rare squirrel, perhaps a sign of good fortune for Maddie and Casa du Borghese. :-)
