STOP THE CAR....

The silly, ignorant bitches in the story hits close to home!!!! And this time local. The Cumberland Valley School District has been thrown into not only the local spotlight, but now the national one, after a controversial vote of 8-0 by its school board this week. The school had originally planned to have an assembly on anti-bullying and was to feature the talented voice over and 30 Rock actor, Maulik Pancholy, who has also written two award winning books on empathy and anti-bullying. A win-win right? And how supportive of its LGBT student body. Wrong.

On April 15, the school board voted unanimously 8-0 to cancel the anti-bullying assembly scheduled. But leave it to 8 silly and ignorant bitches let in power and a few conservative parents, who criticized and raised concern about the books discussing topics related to diversity and LGBT topics and his political "activism". But the cancel came when they found out he was gay. The board also worried he may highlight how happy he is with his lifestyle. WHAT? The assembly was set to be on anti-bullying, yet how damn ironic that is exactly what they are doing!!! I say good on the spotlight exploding them into a negative national spotlight. On the good side one parent, Trisha Comstock was outraged and concerned and began circulating a petition to reverse the decision and has already over 6, 000 signatures.  And I couldn't agree more with her.  "It clearly sends a message to our staff, our students and our residents that identify as LGBTO that part of the community, that they are not welcome." You can add to Trishia's petition here. There is a townhall tonight in town and I bet it is going to be a hot time in the old town tonight. The student body is rightfully pissed off.

Appalling and shame on the Cumberland Valley School Board over cancelling what could have been something amazing. And if you live in the Cumberland Valley area, Greg Rausch, Michelle Nestor, Jevon T Ford, Matthew Barrrick, Brian Drapp, Michael Gosset, Kelly Potteiger and Bud R Shaffner, will all have terms up in 2025 or 2027 so vote these bigots out. They are so obliviously out of date and touch, and quite frankly, an affront to the very delicacies of my nature.

  1. The children of today, need to know that there is hope when all feels lost. This gentleman stresses that. Shame on the board.

  2. Shameful. The board is wrapped up in their own personal and religious beliefs and not what is best for the students and the community. Anti Bullying is an important message, even more so coming from a gay person of color. His personal experience is valuable, not dangerous to our youth. I read about this down here in Delaware.

    1. These days I love how a few people think they are going to tell the rest of us how to love and live.

  3. Cancelling this event just says you approve of bullying non-gender conforming humans! DO BETTER, MORONS! Yet people keep electing the same people in. WAKE UP!

  4. I may not live in your school district or your state, or even your country... but this is blatant homophobia, discrimination and hypocrisy. His "political activism" as they claimed it was about, is about anti-bullying--the exact topic he was scheduled to discuss. People from around the country support reinstating his presentation I have read, to the students of this middle school. It's clear that even the school board still needs to be taught that lesson.

  5. When I heard about this from @thatdaneshguy, I was so disgusted by that school board. Hope this petition can bring some change. Thanks for the link, I signed and see it is now over 9,000! Best of luck Maulik!!!

  6. Fuck them henny! How ridiculous can we be in 2024? Cancelling a bullying talk given by a man who was bullied, because you are a bully? Nope. We the People will not be taking this crap much longer.

    1. Your right....how long before we start rejecting this crap? Right now we accept a lot of crap from voted officials and we accept it..

  7. They cancel an event to spotlight bullying by bullying the guest of honor because ::::gasp:::: he's a happy, proud, out, gay man?

  8. I caught this on CNN today. How can a school board be full of such ignorant, anti-intellectuals in 2024? Maulik is a HUMAN BEING first and foremost and labeling his existence as a “lifestyle” that you are concerned about is as ridiculous as it gets. Queer kids exist whether these ignorant parents/school board members like it or not.And we aren't going anywhere. Truly shameful and embarrassing behavior from “adults”.

  9. Growing up in Carlise originally, still have family there...I am concerned about the way Cumberland Valley school district continues to turn a blind eye to the bullying that has been going on for years in this district. It’s what we call a “snow globe” district. Their stats make them look good from the outside. but they have major internal issues with diversity and equality.

  10. I just don't understand. What has a person's colour and sexuality got to do with anything???
We should be past all this shizzle by now. I despair.

  11. How many more like this? Yet another school board whose 'protect-the-children' acts just takes the cake. Trouble is there's long been no cake left to take.

  14. According to them, I am suppose to be miserable and unhappy with who I am? You can make a change, run for school board. The conservative playbook starts with showing up at school board and zoning board meetings that no one cares about, then run for open seats. The elections are often not contested, and if they are you get your friends to vote for you, and by the second or third try you are usually in. Then start showing your true colors, it is time for some rainbows in those true colors.

And then from the school board they leap to other elected offices that most voters sadly ignore on their ballots. We had one of these hacks go from the school board to the water district, he was out mid-term because of his incompetence. :-(

  16. Shame!
I read about the cancellation and could not believe it. The madness of the conservatives: they think that if the kids will not hear about a happy Gay they'll never be gay. Assholes.
And it was close to home, huh?
    Seriously.

    XOXO

Maybe the school board members should be concerned about their own personal and sexual issues. I find that these uptight types have their own deep seated issues that eventually lead to scandals of their own making.
Next you know they end up stepping down from public pressure and start playing the victim.

    1. That always seems to be the way doesn't it. It's been a bog stink here. And it will be interesting to see if the do change the boards decision, if Maulik Pancholy would even come back to do it after the way he was t seated.

    Tundra Bunny here...

There has always been an ebb and tide to progress of rights movements be they civil, women's, LGBTQ+ or whatever, but the backlashes released by the treasonous orange shitgibbon with a dead ferret on his head and his ilk are truly alarming! And it's worldwide, not just in the U.S. When will people wake the fuck up and kick these knuckle-draggers out of every elected position from local to national levels? It will be too late when another "Final Solution" rears it's ugly head!!

  23. Locally, one school district is unable to proceed with educating the youngsters because they STILL don't have an approved budget... the reason? Three School Board Members - WHO DON'T EVEN HAVE SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN - are refusing to approve the budget because it includes funding for diversity and anti-bullying programs. They said that unless those items are removed from the budget - essentially eliminating the programs - they will never approve the budget which means the school system is going to run out of money.... tick tock tick tock... NOW.

  24. It's the final solution that I'm worried about. What happens when we the people have finally reached enough?
