In this feature, I'll share a weekly guest with you all, and you tell me only three words what come to mind.
In Three Words...
Miss Major Griffin-Gracy
*We and the drag are packed, and I'm off to first, a overnight stay tonight in New Hope to visit some friends and Lumbersexual, before heading to gay Christmas in New York City for Pride with the Clan on Saturday night and Sunday...See y'all next week!
Fierce, Committed Activists.
ReplyDeleteI remember her name form my Village days before moving. Miss Major stood alongside Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera at the Stonewall Uprising, and she has spent more than 50 years devoted to fighting for equality for the queer community. An excellent choice Mistress,
Trans activist icon.

ReplyDeleteActivist. Trans. Campaigner. [And, yes, I had to look her up, as she's so obscure.] Jx
ReplyDeletePS If everyone who claims to have been at the Stonewall riots was actually there, the crowd would have been in the thousands....
Fighter, Survivor, inspirational.
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I am sad to say.
ReplyDeleteShe is touching!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have known who she was till just this week. PBS had a special on her and two other Stonewall survivors who went on to do great things for your community. She was of sorts a role model for Marsha P Johnston, the two inseparable for a time. Have you noticed the have not's did far more for the community then the ones who had?
Makes Major Difference
