Agnes Emilia Carlsson who is known simply by Agnes, is a Swedish recording artist who rose to fame in her county on the Swed version of Idol way back in 2005 and has been going pretty steady since, with five studio albums, one compilation and 19 singles. But her latest release in 2021, Magic Still Exists has been excellent with a whole new vibe and style, and I'm loving it. 24 Hours kicked it off, and this song gives me a mix of two of my all-times favorites. 24 hours is a fantastic collision of Donna Summer and Goldfrapp. I hope Agnes continues to bring such audio delights.
Sweden never disappoints! What a country, what a music! Love her whole vibe.
ReplyDeleteI honestly thought this was a cover of some obscure '70s or '80s song. The fact that actual pop songs, and full-fledged magnificent pop songs like this, are still being created in this decade is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYet again, you are bringing me some music and artist I've never heard of. It's refreshing. Getting tired of the same old same old.
ReplyDeleteI never have heard modern songs that have the same feel as the old days , I am absolutely obsessed with this song now. I have to see what else she has out there.
ReplyDeleteRelease Me is what introduced me to Agnes. I have loved her since.
ReplyDeleteYou're like the only person that has ever mentioned her. I have heard this song on Spotify for the first time a couple of weeks ago, then all the album… wow, all the songs are amazing! Someone tell me why this album is not a worldwide hit? This woman should be what everyone is talking about! What a voice and music!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she won Eurovision without even going to the contest
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! Thanks for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteLove the voice and the visuals!
ReplyDeleteThe sound is retro and futuristic at the same time. Ear candy!!
Fantastic find, Maddie!
XOXO
Love the triangular hairdo!
ReplyDeleteMs Goldberg-DeWoof's side gig? Who knew?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if this was her. I have the feeling she is avant-garde.
DeleteIf only I had that energy.
DeleteVery Donna. I remember her years back but kind of forgot about her. Thanks for the tune.
ReplyDeleteMe too Bob. Her last album was very low key, so I was very tickled when this released.
DeleteIs that a neck rest on her head or a mini-haystack?
ReplyDeleteI could use a built-in head rest some days.
DeleteFabulous! I love the visuals.
ReplyDeleteI too have never heard of Agnes, and I like her. You should charge royalties for how much you educate us this way.
ReplyDeleteFirst I've heard
ReplyDeleteLOVE ME and the music. And not just because of her name!!!! This made my night.
ReplyDeleteVery disco! And sparkly.
