STOP THE CAR.....

Texas is poised to remove one of it's last major gun restrictions after lawmakers approved allowing people to carry handguns without a license, and the background check and training that go with it. How is this possibly a good thing???? I have nothing against guns when in responsible hands and knowledge on how to use them, and with proper training. But this is so insane, and of course, it's Texas, where the Rifleman, Pondarosa and Wagon Train are still the highest rated shows. The Republican-dominated legislature approved the measure Monday, sending it to Gov Abbott, who said he will sign it despite the objections of law enforcement groups who say it would endanger the public and police. I guess everything really is bigger in Texas, including even bigger brain dead stupidity. As far as I'm concerned Texas is no longer a state in my mind,  and it's apparent that it's polictians would rather take millions and could give two shits about public safety. I also question it's residents, who keep voting for these people. After this and the blizzard and power debacle,  I bet the dumb asses will still vote for these vile humans. I say boycott that state and strangle hold it's tourism revenue intake. When did they say they were leaving the country? Texas....

I'm an Independent and go either way. I thought republicans were supposed to be 100% for law enforcement safety... It seems that the republicans in Texas didn't get the memo...like they don't get all the other memos either.

  2. Something is terribly wrong when elected representatives suggest a unlicensed handgun measure. America has an over proliferation of guns now. What is the real symptom here, civility or the lack thereof. Such a measure ripens America for destruction. How callus The US and it's government has become.

  3. Then why not also remove all driving licenses, tests, stoplights and speed signs? Better still just remove all and anything one has to be licensed for.

You couldn't pay me enough to visit that shit hole state henny.

  4. I was beginning to worry your fire went out! "it's Texas, where the Rifleman, Pondarosa and Wagon Train are still the highest rated shows." I love when you get catty. But sadly those probably still are the highest rated shows.

  5. America is unraveling before our eyes...This is a tragic move to allow this law to pass.

I have given up on both parties. I thought it might get better.

  6. It's actually pretty simple. Just use the reverse on the republican's. I saw this today from Dave Chappelle “Every able-bodied African-American must register for a legal firearm. That’s the only way they’ll change the law.”

  7. LMAO! Let is rip Mistress!!!!! Y'all know that wall that fat ol' Dumpsterfire was so fond of? How about we build it around Texas? Because if there was ever a place where it seems like the equivalent of rabies has been dumped into the drinking water, it's Texas.

  8. Every time there is a mass shooting the sane amongst us briefly wonder if now is the turning, but that fleeting second passes and it's back to allowing would-be murderers to have their own way.

    1. The only way it will change is if their own family members start getting shot and killed...then you will see changes....maybe...but they would still have to think long and hard first.

  9. I had to go once to Dallas and once to Houston on business. Then, we almost moved to Houston for a job for SG. We thought about it again and thought, no way. And that was years ago when we didn't know the half of it about that awful place. Sorry to those decent people who live there, but I would not spend a dime to help that economy.

  10. Dear Maddie, In my younger days I spent several weeks in Texas, San Antonio, then Sabinal, finally got dropped of by a lonesome diner in Hondo --where I watched a tumbleweed blow from one horizon to the other. After 4 or 5 hours, the bus to Amarillo came by and began my return to Earth,1968. Was never so glad to get back to California again. I think I was the only unarmed guy in Texas.

  11. I heard that you Americans, to mean a huge thing, say TEXAS SIZE! I remembered this expression and it made me smile. In Italy you need a special permit to hold weapons (even for hunters) and you have to take psychophysical exams every 2 or 3 years, to continue to keep your "gun license" (we say PORTO D'ARMI, literrally te possibility you have to hold a weapon)

    1. I believe there is a profound difference between the US and Italy. (I don't know how other European states behave, so I'm only talking about Italy).
For you Americans, having guns is a right recognized by your Constitution (at least I think). In Italy, the State authorizes you to have arms outside your home.

This license is valid for 5 years, renewable for an equal period of time, and allows the purchase of weapons and ammunition in the specified quantities and transport throughout the national territory, or in specific cases to the place of detention, if expressly specified. Whoever wants this authorization is obliged to present a medical certificate of psycho-physical fitness attached to the request for the issue of the license. As for the license to take a weapon for personal defense, it is issued by the Italian prefecture only in case of proven need and therefore the issue is discretionary. That is, if you want this kind of license, you have to prove that you really need it, but still the release is not automatic, but discretionary.

I hope to have been clear enough.

    2. That's because Xersex, your a smart and intelligent country. It's not that people can't have guns, I don't mind what they own, but the wrong people are getting them. There needs to be stronger regulations like you have. And if they cause a huge stink about this, then what are they up too? But the rightful owners don't have problems with these regulations and support them.

    3. I think it's a cultural difference. In America the spaces are so vast that one is in danger of dying if he cannot defend himself instantly. Italy is small and overpopulated. At the root of your right to self-defense, I believe there is this undeniable geographical aspect.

P.S.: obviously several crimes also happen in Italy, and often by people who "legally held their weapon".

    4. In Italy, like the rest of the world, it's not what you know, but who you know. In the UK we have very strict gun control laws, but that doesn't stop the crims getting hold of them.

LOL. We know that's not true, but the GQP far outnumber them and so, yes, the idiots will continue to get elected.

  25. I've been to Texas and it was obvious to me why they vote in such Lunacy, the vast majority there support such extremist ideology. I agree with Madame Redfern. That said, we have the ridiculous Fraudit going on here in Arizona, there is a lot of Stupid here too and most of the Extremist thinking is outside of the Major Cities, which they target to try to manipulate our Rights to Vote these Wingnuts out of Office. It fucked with the Cult Base that we Voted for Biden/Harris and responsible Leadership... so they want to cost our County and it's Taxpayers as much as they can get away with to have these Cyber Ninja Extremist Groups Grifting and pretending like they'd ever find fraud... whilst getting paid to actually commit a fraudulent act... go figure.
