OLYMPIA

Is it any wonder Clairee and I would have gotten along?

  1. Very sad. I adored her. She grounded Moonstruck, giving it a weight it sorely needed. "If you can't say anything nice... come sit by me." from Steel M's is a classic - again - a great balance act. And Tales of the City got me through one very miserable winter in Iowa (a terrible state), and for that, I will be eternally grateful. We will miss her.

  3. Oh, I'm sure you would. What a character. And what an actress. (You AND Olympia.)

  5. I first saw her (and fell in love with her) when she played Mrs Madrigal in "Tales of the City." She was a good friend and ally to the LGBTQ+ community. Rest in peace.

  9. I loved Olympia, especially in Moonstruck and Steel Magnolias. Can you believe I've never seen Tales of the City? I bet I can find it somewhere and make it my mission to watch it.

    Love,

  11. I couldn't believe when I heard the news. One of two of my all time favorites.

The year of death just continues.

  12. Her "Moonstruck" performance is still my favorite. Her delivery on "That's too bad." is classic!
