....we give thanks...for each week, for all her lovely music she gives us to get us through these times of woe. I'd personally like to thank Anne Marie from the Casa du Borghese....So I say Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing....Thanks for all the joy they're bringing.....
And I don't dedicate ABBA to just anyone.
HERE! HERE! I agree!!!!! I love her posts on Saturday even if the videos don't show up. I have no idea why some weeks I can't get them. I happens only with certain blogs.
ReplyDeleteAnd Maddie is right...she doesn't just dedicate a song to anyone let alone a ABBA song! How do you rate?
I wasn't a fan till much in my later years. How can one band make so many beautiful, timeless songs? This was one of my fvorites.
ReplyDeleteVery very fitting to dedicate to Anne Marie! The words are so true as she gives us music and to the songs Im singing week.
ReplyDeleteThis song is actually extremely humble and very reflective. I really do wonder how she thought of this up?
I like ABBA but was never their biggest fan, but in the last fours years, and with the pandemic, I have to say I have a new found love. Their music has been the only music to wake me up and make me happy and forget things. No other group has done this for me.
ReplyDeleteSweden's greatest gift to the world. Love them.
ReplyDeleteIs she going to kill you? (Is she even going to listen to the music?)
ReplyDeleteAnd, while I'm asking, does the cowgirl in the banner photo actually plan to shoot that turkey full of buckshot? Remind me to turn down THAT dinner invitation.
She appears to have run from the room Mitchell! Wait till the bears get here...she'll be back quicker then a New York minute.....
DeleteThere’s nothing like music to express a mood. Happy, sad, melancholy there’s a song for it.
ReplyDeleteWhile endorsing absolutely your worthy motive, M.M., in posting this appreciation of W.Q. as exemplified in the lyrics of this particular song, I won't be alone in being intrigued as to why you chose this particular group above all to dedicate to her. Anyone who's tried even mentioning the name of the group to our esteemed friend will know exactly what I mean. I say no more other than having confidence that her sense of humour is bound to overcome any obstacle to her fulsome gratitude. [I'm trusting that you'll know what I'm talking about]. ;-
ReplyDeleteHaving just posted this I see that in Mitch's first sentence above he's got there before me.
DeleteIt was pure coincidence dear. I was listen to ABBA yesterday like any good gay, when this song popped on and it then occurred to me how many enjoy AM's Saturday post...and the lyrics can't be more on point with what her post do. So it was with a honor and ode, and a fun jab, to Anne Marie. But I think she ran off with the gin and is now traumatized. Ill get hairy bear boy out....she'll come arunin quick enough........
DeleteI'm relieved - but only slightly.
Delete(runs screaming from the room)
ReplyDeletekeep it down....some are still sleeping.
DeletePerhaps we should call her Abba Marie?
ReplyDeleteNaughty naughty! (shaking a finger)
DeleteOh you are a evil queen. At least even I didn't take it there.
Delete@bob - BITCH! ;-b
DeleteI didn't know she was such a dedicated fan.
ReplyDeleteOh, I share your love of ABBA! Such a delicious guilty pleasure. Each of their songs is like a perfect sugar cookie! And Anne Marie rules! We're halfway through November! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love ABBBA!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIn the four years, every time trump opened his mouth, we should have played a ABBA song to shut him up! It would have drove him nuts and made us more happy!!!
I could access dear Anne Marie this week. Here we go again.
I like ABBA - I do. Is that bad? LOL. I also like Wilson Phillips, and The Mamas and the Papas...same style of vocal arrangements, blending yet allowing certain voices and tones to stand out on phrasing.
ReplyDeleteI like Abba and the Mamas and the Papas, but was never a huge fan of Wilson Phillips. Like many have said here Abba makes me happy and can turn a mood now matter how said or depressed I get. My fave song of theirs was Does Your Mother Know.
DeleteUh, oh! Has there been a rift in your friendship with dear Carebear, Mads? I thought you love Anne Marie! Her sense of humor is up for this though. ABBA as a tribute to Anne Marie. Will this year never end?!
ReplyDeleteYes.. all good fun and a friendly fun gab at her! But no denying the lyrics of this song are what her postS do to many on Saturdays!!! So I found it to be fitting. Just iconic it was ABBA.
DeleteYes, I look forward to her Saturday Night Dance Party every week!
ReplyDeleteI like ABBA, in small doses,
ReplyDeleteI love Abba and I love Warrior Queen, even though we disagree on Abba. I am enjoying the irony of dedicating an Abba song to her.
ReplyDeleteI like to give her a good ribbing every now and then. I said ribbing!
DeleteBut the lyrics do fit. It's what she does to many of us each Saturday with her music.
ribbed for her pleasure!
DeleteABBA makes everything better! I have no idea why...but my endorphins flow.
ReplyDeleteYes, Anne Marie can DJ any party I throw!
ReplyDeletehow does someone not like ABBA? that's like not like puppies, kitten, or cock.
ReplyDeleteI like puppies, and kittens, and cocks. I DON'T LIKE ABBA! and vegetables!
Deleteok, I just listened to the video. nice tune & words. hideous outfits. benny is cute and beary. but I still don't like ABBA.
ReplyDeleteI DO like all the friends who stop by each saturday to view my blog. music has always played a huge part in my life. thank you, maddie; SMOOCHES!
Does this mean I can get you a honorary ABBA tee shirt? But don't you just love the words? So true of what your weekly party does for us.
Deleteno t-shirt, please.
DeleteShe is a dear; please don't feed her buns and things.
ReplyDeleteThats the problem, I think she likes buns and things....
Delete@maddie - you got THAT right, gurl!
