Lovely flowers from the Dame.
Summer, if you not aware, is the Mistress's favorite season by far dear readers. It means the sunny and hot temperatures, windows opened wide day and night...I've used by air at night only twice this season, and men barely wearing any clothes. But the feel of the Casa is lighter, and I love my summer eating habits much better with lots of fruits and veggies, cheeses, nuts, hard boiled eggs, salads and fish. I am practically meat free. To hot to cook, although I will once in a while. I love my summers. Lately around the Casa....
It means tons of sea shells, bought and found on my travels....filling every orifices.
And summer is the best season by far for gin beverages! Never mind there are seven bottles here.
The apothecary's are filled with shells!!!!
The infamous boudoir. I'm am now used to the dark Newport Blue finally, and have got the bedding changed to crème linens and brought out the white accessories to lighten the room.
Later this summer , most of the pied de terre is getting re-painted, but I will indeed keep the blue in the bedroom.
More and more and more shells!!!
I always keep a globe handy. I throw darts at it, and where they land is where the next trip will be.
I love wearing my square cuts, and could just easily live in them all summer. This is only one of two drawers of them.
Did I mention I'm a bit obsessive compulsive?
And if their all in the wash I can always wear this conch shell!
Summer means watermelon season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go through about three bowls like this a week!
And then this happened. After having Hera for four years, I traded the bitch in, even though she was just perfect, for a new Mazda 3 2018 , fully loaded. Meet Demeter!
She has already been perfect, and I'm sure she is looking forward to a beach trip already. The inside of this car has leather seats and the smell of leather is giving me naughty ideas.
Oh dear!!!!!
so you are drinking and eating nuts (no surprises there). and you fill that conch shell nicely. congrats on the new car!
ReplyDeleteIf one puts one's ear to that conch, does one hear moans, groans or slurping noises? Just askin'...
ReplyDeleteJx
Good thing Norma Desmond isn't here Jon, she may mistake it for her ear horn. Lord knows where we'd end up them?
DeleteI've always been impressed by the size of your conch shell.
ReplyDeleteSharp new wheels too.
Yes, I remember you thinking it was Blue Lagoon here once and you tried to blow in it.
DeleteIt is a classic! I have always enjoyed seeing your place. It stands out like like a jewel , while still being warm and welcoming. I too love sea shells, but don't have near that many!!!! Or that size.
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful. I love how the mix of things and textures....they mesh together and still look clean and simple. I adore summer too. Nothing like open windows at night. Love the blue of the car too...sharp.
ReplyDeleteJoan Crawford would adore you and your drawers.
ReplyDeleteJudi Dench sent you flowers? How wonderful! They are absolutely resplendent!
ReplyDeleteLove the seashells! If you can't go to the beach, then bring the beach to you! Your conch shell seems to invite people to come blow it.
I love the color blue, and your blue bottles and blue walls. Congrats on the new blue car!
I love summer, too. But I confess that I am not a watermelon fan, because I've never found one that had a good, intense taste. All I've tried seemed watered down. But I do love watermelon flavor, which surprisingly, is pretty strong in cactus prickly pears!
Thank you dear! I adore a good pricky-pear.
DeleteThis post came at a good time since Im moving. I admit, I’m a sucker for a good, square top iron canopy bed. I dream of having something like yours in my new place. I got some great inspiration here Mistress.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new wheels too. I hear real good things about the Mazda 3.
Thank you Samantha!!!!!!
DeleteMy apartment here in Brooklyn is bigger, but I always like your place better. I hate leaving when I visit. And you didn't tell me you got a new car! Love it.
ReplyDeleteBut watch where you point that shell on leather seats.
It is 5:30 and 94 degrees here! The windows don't get opened until 10:00 or 11:00 and I'll still be hot (not in the good way, poor balder half). Spring and fall are my seasons, but summer fruit is/are my favorites. Since they are all seedless now, watermelon seems to have lost a lot of its flavor.
ReplyDeleteYour house is so neat! The flowers are fabulous. I'm not into sea shells much, but you certainly work it.
Is that how drawers are supposed to fit in drawers? Not balled up? I don't have the patience! Demeter is very pretty.
With me being hot blooded, Im surprised I don't mind the hot summers more...maybe when I get older I might, who knows tootes, but the Lad hates sleeping right next to me as he calls me a human heater.
DeleteI'm very anal about my drawers and closet....to even be color coordinated. I did a post on it once, I'll have to do a updated one sometime again.
Is that a fluorescent deer's head in that one picture?
ReplyDeleteIt must be the camera! It's a crème colored ceramic deer head with sticks as antlers. It was so cute and whimsical, I couldn't resist.
DeleteDemeter is cute! I especially like that shade of blue Mazda has.
ReplyDeleteAlso, is that a conch in your hands or are you just happy to see us?
Im seem to always be happy! I was really torn on getting a new car so soon, but I vowed to never keep another car as long as I did my Saturns. And I got such a good deal and trade in , I couldn't resist. Plus the first one I was extemely pleased with.
DeleteLove the blue! I love dark rooms ...we have a deep blue foyer, a dark green dining room,a deep gray living room amd a black bathroom; love 'em.
ReplyDeleteLove the, er, cock, shell, too, though it looks like it might hurt.
And I used to own a Mazda when i lived in California; it was a great car!
I remember your posts once on your colorful rooms and I loved them, especially the bathroom.
DeleteWe have lots of shells too, some collected from very deserted beaches in the wilds of Western Canada.
ReplyDeleteExceptionally handsome apartment you have. You certainly have the touch my friend. I too love the windows open at night. It's nice to see "where all the magic" happens. No wonder the men don't like to leave!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why, but picture number three is a favorite of mine. The containers you use for displaying shells is very creative. I have a few, but they just sit out on a shelf.
ReplyDeleteMy lands! One pair of my big fat ass panties would take up the whole drawer!!!!!!!
I solve that problem by never wearing panties! ;-b
DeleteSo Anne Marie, are you telling us there is no dainties drawer for you?
DeleteGreat place and touches....but to be that shell right now...….
ReplyDeleteLove the depth and richness of your place. It's neat, tidy and chic while still be very comfy and welcoming. Flowers are always a wonderful thing to have in a home too...makes me happy. Could blue be a favorite color of yours?
ReplyDeleteI'm that transparent am I?
DeleteWhat a beautiful, characterful home you have. I could just put my bags down and settle in!
ReplyDeleteLovely furnishings and flowers too.
Mine's a large Hendricks please with lots of ice and rose lemonade!
I'll be right over.....
Now I now you will be a best buddy!!!! I have never tried gin with rose lemonade, sounds DELISH, I must try that Christina! Your welcome any time.
DeleteAs always, your home is an inspiration! The Newport Blue works really well in the boudoir - very opulent, but relaxing.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many different things to put in your apothecaries, I wonder, where on Earth do you store all those pretty things that are not currently on display?
Demeter is a beauty! I love a svelte, beautiful car (which is why I have an Alfa 156), but should the day come when Car gives up the ghost, a Mazda 3 like yours is very near, if not at the top, of my list!
Alfa Romeo is not to big here MrDeVice. But a friend of mine got a Alfa Romeo Spider for her birthday one year. It was a cute car. I loved riding in it with my huge glasses and head scarf.
DeleteI have been extremely happy with my Mazdas, and the gas mileage is unbelievable.
I have a huge walk in closet in the hall that I store seasonal things and different objects. I store them in big tubs...label by season of course.
I have some cool things, but would love to hire you to take a look at my house. You have a touch. I would never guess you love the beach. Love your BIG shell. Maybe you can start a new swim trend?
ReplyDeleteLeather, square cuts, and stuffed orifices, you are on a roll today, have fun.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you decorate your home, so much style! Nice new car buddy, have you tried out the back seat yet? Be careful where you place those shells, you don't want crabs! O.O
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the backseat yet. Is that a offer???
DeleteYup! ;)
DeleteCum stains on leather gives it an "old and loved" appearance. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhere in the world do you find time to do all of that changing of the decor with the seasons. it's beautiful, but between work and trips and feeding the birds and... Oh, wait. That's right, Houseboys!!! Can I borrow them this fall???
Well I can certainly see why your good at your job. I always enjoying seeing what you do each season with your place. I can also see why your popular at the beach. Especially when that Big she'll comes off.
ReplyDeleteI like a nice big conch on a man.
ReplyDeleteYou have such great taste.though I do believe we need a post of you in all those different swim trunks.
ReplyDeleteCan I pay you to come decorate my place just wearing that conch she'll? Please?
Nice Mazda! Break that back seat in soon, Mistress!
ReplyDeleteSo encouragement Debs!!! Looks like Steven is ready to help with that.
DeleteSo de meter is fully loaded? Hhhmmm.
ReplyDeleteYour talent can't be hidden! Have you ever gotten stuck in that conch shell_
