MOOD BOARD

I said it once I say it again.... I'm loving these three days weekends since beginning this new chapter!!! And three day weekends have never happened my whole working career. I have learned to embrace Mondays and like them. Now that the Thanksgiving holiday is behind us, it may surprise some to know I still won't decorate for another week or so. I will see enough with work, clients' homes, and my mother's house. I tend to deck the hall of the Casa around the 10th of the month, but the first of two Christmas parties is for this coming weekend in which I will attend since it was off last year and I didn't make it the year before, but the second will be a no go since the party is going to be too many in attendance. At the shop, we also put out the menorah for our Jewish customers. I can't believe Hanukah has started already, is it early this year? I know I have some Jewish readers, so at this time I hope you have a lovely festival of lights holiday.

On Hanukah some people might ask,

Why could we not light all eight candles in one night?

Instead of having to light a new one for each of the eight nights.

It's because Hanukah is not merely a cause for celebrations,

It is a trial of perseverance.

Of course, gin and fashion make everything better!

Happy Monday All!

    1. I knew you'd get a chuckle out of them Christina. I sent that first one to all my Jewish friends and they got a kick out of it.

  2. OHHHH! Thank you, Mistress! If William were here, he'd say Chag Sameach! Which means Happy Holidays or if you are really sophisticated, Moadim l’simcha, which means “festivals for joy.” But I know he would love that first Gin meme! He loved his gin. I myself have begun embracing my Christmas traditions again, but will also keep some of my Jewish traditions in his memory. And I love this mood board! That fourth picture down and first lady...I would wear that. I love a good, bold sleeve on anything.

I adore you Mistress! Thank you!

  4. I wouldn't want to do the washing up wearing that spotty top and it would be difficult to get through a doorway, let alone do the vacuuming, in the spotty dress & fascinator.

  5. I'm partial to the birdies in this one. That little fuzzy white one is definitely a mood enhancer for me. I have an unrequited love for gin. I love it, it hates me. I had to be strong and turn my back on the bastid. Oh well, rum didn't mind being a rebound lover. Sheesh! My coffee is indeed not strong enough this morning!

    3. Deedles: I think it’s withdrawal. Haven‘t had gin in months. YOu spelled ginuwinely poifickly!
Anita: When will the Mistress finally invest in that lifetime membership? I just don’t understand.

  12. I love your mood board this morning, Mistress, especially the pale blue and yellow parakeets!

Fun Fact: during the roaring twenties of the last century, Gin became known as "pantie remover". No wonder your "Gin and Bare It" parties are so popular, LOL!

  13. We have an assortment of gins from many lands. I can tell the difference. In a double-blind taste test I discovered I like Tanqueray the most!

    1. I'm the same way Spo. Tanqueray was what I started drinking gin on, but have since become a huge Hendricks, Blue Coat and The Botanist fan.

  15. Let me take a wild guess: your beverage of choice is gin? Do you decorate your tree with the little gin bottles?

    1. The branches would snap! No little bottles here! Go big or go home!

  19. Happy Hannukah for those that are celebrating. I love the birds and high fashion. As for the gin? I gotta keep it together during training, so I'll have to pass for now.

  20. Ah, mother's milk, to me. Sigh. I keep trying to resist its subtle charms... but you mix it with grapefruit fizzy water and tons of ice and... well, how could I refuse. Yes... it's the gin's fault I tell you. Damn it's irresistible effects. They say drinking makes you look older... well, that's not the case when I drink gin. A few sips and suddenly I'm America's Sweetheart! Kizzes, kid. Gin flavored kizzes! Mu-wah!
