MOOD BOARD

Today, for some reason, I'm in a green mood. While not my favorite color, I do enjoy it. Most prominently found in nature, the color green embodies rich foliage, lush greenery and vast landscapes. This earthly hue is commonly associated with Mother Earth, which is why it's thought to be calming and ubiquitous. Offering relaxation, green often soothes with it's gentle and peaceful undertones. It's also a natural healer. When on the face of goods, green makes consumers feel safe and hopeful. Regarded as a kind and caring color, green doesn't enjoy ruffling feathers. Instead the color maintains order. Mayhem and green don't mesh well, which is why this warmhearted color assumes the role of peacemaker. Anger diminishes when the color green is present. I highly like using green in interiors, but I like it mostly in objects and furnishings. I'm not a fan of green on walls. If green is on the walls, one must be carful with the shade as it can cast awful coloring on to our skin, which is one reason it's the worst color for a bathroom, especially when women and men apply make up. I think for today, I may grab my green square cuts and lay out at the lake, in all the lush greenery and listen to the water roll in from the lake.

  2. Can one be green with envy and still be calm? Things that make you go hmm. I love lush, dark greens. Mint, lime and baby poop green make me wanna barf (green vomit, of course). Did I ruin the mood? I love that top picture! I can see myself lounging nekkid while a T-rex peaks in. See, I can't just lounge in peace!

  4. I love green!!!!! But I agree with the walls. I painted the walls a green once and it was awful on the lighting. So the room got repainted with green touches and I loved it. I also wouldn't mind that green straw hat. I love hats. Loved this collection.

  5. I have no idea why, but nothing looks more chic to me then a crushed velvet dark green sofa. As a fellow interior designer, I find green very nice but it is often a color hard to work with because of natural lighting. It can also dull a room. I like different greens together, which seems to help.

  10. Love the green/gray sitting room.
    Love it.
I've never gone full-on green and if I ever do it, it may be either a dark green or a chartreuse. I'm into extremes.

    XOXO

  11. I used to be a Blue but several years ago I started liking green more, and I'm still a Green ... though my favorite color, like my mood, is black.

    PS Love the green chaise!

  12. I LOVE green anything. But walls. That said I'm too afraid to use green in fear I'll hate it...so I go too is tons and tons of green plants. Though I did just purchase a dark green side chair and look looks great. Will we get lake pictures? Or are you nude?

As a garden fanatic, of course I love green. Just not for men's clothes, wallpaper or bedding...

  21. If you are still in a green mood you can come over and sit in my conservatory, which is done up in green (think William Morris Blackthorn), while looking out onto the greenery of the garden.
