Some magnolias I picked yesterday. The scent in them smells wonderful. Today was the first morning that the Red Bellied Woodpecker came a pecking at the drain pipe, and I am sure got the whole neighborhood up. I got up early but then went back for another hour or two snooze. With the morning being absolutely gorgeous and sunny, before making my breakfast of pancakes and such...I filled the window sill of my seed mixture, Bonnie the dove was the only one there for some time...and she was ready for a close up. Most of the real fat doves I am assuming are the females, getting ready to lay and nest...but this is a very small female. Or she didn't breed yet. Search me...but she is a fast eater....
Great...I just LOVE BEING FILMED while I eat.
She didn't seem to mind me right on the other side of the windows.
I'm sure she really loved that I also spotted my first ever Bluebirds here. I think they set up house in one of the birdhouses here. Meanwhile SOME are just now getting up.
This morning I made the pancakes at Casa Bob y Carlos because it's Carlos'birthday.
ReplyDeleteThat said,Bonnie and Buster do love posing for the camera, don't they?
Oh no!!!! I can already not wait to read the Tales of CARLOS this week. Do give the birthday boy a big wet kiss from me. No, on second thought, if you do, he might be confused who I am and how we met and you'll have to explain we know each other, but we don't, but I'm sure he'll remember meeting me anyhow....see my point. I hope he has a good Birthday though..after all, he's in good hands!!!!!!
DeleteBob, I love the new avatar! I wasn't quite sure it was you until you mentioned Carlos. I thought I might've been replying to a stranger on the mermen post. Give Carlos a big hug from me (less face wetting than a kiss). You two enjoy your day.
Delete@bob - feliz cumpleanos y carlos!
DeleteWags and hugs to Buster. :-)
ReplyDeleteLoverly birdy pictures. Have
a relaxing Sunday.
You too tootes! A lake walk may be called for.
DeleteI LOVE magnolias. I pick them to but they don't stay long cut off the tree. And those pictures show such detail in the feathers. Amazing how close to the glass you can get. She must like you.
ReplyDeleteI always love your bird post. And did I hear classical in that video??? Maybe they like the music? Your whole place gives off a calm haven from the world...and then that last picture....he is a CUTIE!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour right Cello Josh. Having been to the Casa, I always enjoy visiting or staying over. It is a haven from the world. It a calming place with a feast for the senses.
DeleteBucks County is simply a stunning, charming place.
Great pictures. I wonder how much feed and money you go through with seed? And we will never refuse a Buster picture.
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to know.
DeleteA lovely post and very funny watching her eat quickly...!
ReplyDeleteI know people who is still afraid of birds after watching that movie...but not me! As long as they don't drop their poop on my head~ Then I may borrow Buster.
I'm inspired by nature every day... it just doesn't always end up in anything created. SOMETIMES it does, ha ha. Lately, I've been more inspired by spring this year. Our hyacinths and daff's are up and the tulips will be next. Your bird post are always inspiration. I can see all the feathers in that one picture. You never realize how pretty they are till up this close. We still thank you for your bird recipe mixture...we are up to 9 breed varieties now. Loving Buster and that stretch. Tell him to do one for this old broad.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab weekend, darling! xox
I love tulips. The trees here right know are so pretty.
DeleteLovely Mistress! You do weekend right sexy. And is it me or does your neighbor across the street in the house? have a lime colored door? If so I love it. To have a dog's life...…… he has it made I suspect.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lime colored door. You have good eyes.
DeleteGorgeous post,Mistress. I like Sundays at your place.
ReplyDeleteSo, in between getting out of bed and making breakfast, you filled the window sill with your seed mixture. Okay. I'm being good! I'm being good!!!
ReplyDeleteThe magnolias are lovely, the dove is beautiful, and Buster is, well, Buster :)
I'm chalking your dirty mind up to the throws of spring in the air!!!!!! All of a sudden the Love Boat theme popped up in my mind! Oh great...

DAGNABIT, MADDIE!!! I'm gonna be humming that stupid song all day now! As much as I love Jack Jones, I am not a fan of this little ditty.

DeleteThat bird is a cutie, and so is Buster. I'm skipping breakfast since I didn't crawl out of bed until 10:30am this morning. Might as well wait a couple of hours for lunch.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Im so happy that spring is 'springing', the sun and the flowers make me happy! And what in the world are those on your table behind Buster. Are they cow boxes?
ReplyDeleteyou really don't want to know what's in there.
DeleteInquiring minds want to know!
DeleteLet's just say their unmentionables damn it.
Deletecripes, it's been a gorgeous weekend round these parts! currently I am on my sunporch with my knitting and the baseball game is on the radio. the spouse and cats are taking afternoon naps; I already had mine.
ReplyDeleteI have been working on my tin foil hat dear.
DeleteBonnie is very entertaining as she pecks up that seed. But I don't envy you your drainpipe knocking woodpecker.
ReplyDeleteThere are one or two very noisy owls at the back of the DeVice Mansion that sometimes wake me extremely early in the morning, but I'm sure they're not as loud as your woodpecker.
I sleep very heavy...never hear a thing ever.... I sleep like the dead, and I hear that every morning. It is very loud. Now like a said, remember, I sleep very heavy Mr DeVice. I would never even hear if you were to say sneak in, and I never lock the boudoir door or windows.
DeleteOoh, magnolias. You've got a little bit of paradise right there!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so lovely....like a Disney film Mistress. We just don't know yet if your good or evil!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I bit of both dear.
DeleteGorgeous pictures... Even Busters stretches look adorable.I felt it this weekend and see some life in the garden, but the forecast for this week is grim rainy and chilly.
ReplyDeleteI have bluebirds. The first time I saw them I was kind of astonished... they really are blue.
ReplyDeleteThey are very hard to get around here in Pa.
DeleteYeahhhh!!! I am absolutely feeling it!! Nice and fresh pictures of the dove.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of spring, birds and dogs, Cujo and Bella got their spring grooming yesterday. Cujo's out patrolling the back yard. I certainly hope a fly by hawk doesn't mistake him for a small rabbit or gigantic white rat! I get this fear every spring.
ReplyDeleteOn the news here last spring there was a story of a hawk that swept down and took two dachshund puppies from a ladies yard!!! Sad.
DeleteAwwwww :(
DeleteYou pictures are magnificent of the dove...and always love seeing Buster, and the arrangement looks beautiful. Our neighborhood was full of forsythia blooms this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe blossoms are gorgeous! I can't wait until my lilacs are in bloom.By the way she is eating, you may have to refill that sill. And Buster has the look of a lazy sunday.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Lots of talk about your bird.
ReplyDeleteBonnie was ready for her closeup, Mr. DeMille. And Buster is one handsome boy.
ReplyDeleteBuster is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAnd you seem to be getting spring earlier than us. We're still drab and I have not seen any flowers yet!
XOXO
I am 100% with Buster - sleep in!
