A wonderful artistic endeavor, inspired from the annals of history and intending to pass it on for posterity. A delightful performer to watch. We have seen her several times on Austin City Limits.
You can't listen to Rhiannon without the music touching your soul. It is spiritual, it is educational, but mostly it really binds you to the experience being retold.
I know you posted this last night....but what good music to start Monday with. I have been a fan of hers for a long time. As well as Sister Rosette Thrape.
I tried listening to this last night before going to bed. I got into a giggle fit because what I heard with the first few notes was Bernice from Designing Women singing Black man, black man to Anthony! I was kind of loopy. I tried again just now and the same thing happened. I may have to get past the first song to get into this. Another artist that I have never heard of. Her voice sounds like the kind I enjoy, so I'll just have to pull up my big girl panties and give it another shot :)
It's that Old Negro Spiritual vibe I think. Yes I wear big girl panties, or in vulgar terms, Grannie pannies! One has to get them above ones knees after all!
