SILLY SYMPHONIES

I know spring is coming now. Lately at the Casa I have noticed that many of the other birds except for the doves, which always dine in pairs, are visiting the sill in pairs. Which means babies will be on the way very shortly. I also just saw two Canadian geese walking the grounds. As much I would enjoy seeing little goslings running around, I must convince them that the fox family may make dinner of them. The activity with singing is already noisy, but welcoming to hear in the morning. I do believe spring is finally coming. For us kids at heart........

  2. That cartoon is soooo cute. Of course nowadays that little chick would call the poultry police and accuse his parent of birdie abuse!

  3. Yes, the birdies are singing at 6am where I'm at. That also means Torrie makes a ton of noise as she leaps onto the window sill to "chatter" with them.

  4. Raining here. This morning the squirrel crawled into a little ornamental feeder my brother gave me. It has a roof so he stayed dry.

  6. I was woken up this morning by a woodpecker drumming on a tree nearby. Oh, and the ever present blackbirds (not Beaky, I hasten to add).

Didn't last year's goslings manage to avoid the foxes, or am I looking back through rose-tinted memory glasses?

    1. Well by golly.. I have missed you dear. Yes, you are correct. The geese can actually hold their own. and don't take much crap from anyone, but it's a daily worry I have that my kids will eat the other kids. Right now I think they be scouting for a nesting area.....
