Hello to all my little lambchops!
I am not sure where last month went, but, I can tell you, I didn't know if I was coming or going. Thanks goodness Ms. Moorecock was able to run things. Work had been extremely busy with lots of shop installs, floor moves, and a huge corporate visit, not to mention set touches of spring through the store, and our fashion rotation of the mannquins. I had been working 56 hour weeks. I was also honored with a very nice corporate award, and my boss gave a very touching, if not comical speech. I had also received flowers, and some dough to spend in the store. I divided the flowers up into 10 little arrangmesnts to brighten spots all over the Casa.
In between all the work , the social schedule also brought me out of hibernation early. First up was the Valentines Lust Glow Party at the Raven. You know how hard it is to wear glow sticks?
And these two guy really go into it! You should have seen their ring toss later!
Then, there was hosting the Presidents Day Weekend Tea Dance with the dj. That was actually a blast...and who didn't mind the bottomless gin?
Then the following weekend it was off for a surprise birthday party for my good friend, the Dame Courtney....who turned, I believe, in his 80's...search me. But his husband took us all to dinner...and chauffeured in a hummer limo to dinner. A hummer limo, 8 queens and 10 bottles of champagne. Now you know that was a good time...I was told the Mistress held one on to her own bottle of champagne, as I fear everyone was tired of filling me up every other minute. But I told them, I swore the glass has a crack in it.
Since most of my days of drag are now behind me after years of doing it...it is now on to Boylesque...a quarterly show at the Raven that I joined. We shall see how this will plan out. It is still a form of drag, but just not as much make up, hair, and barley any clothes!!! Might be interesting seeing the junk swinging under a garter!!! Yikes! Preston shot the photos of the boys, to be later added to the poster, and I'm rather proud of how the promo shot panned out.
After our work, we hit the village and ran into this mess....
Lady Bunny and Tammie Brown. Not near enough libation to make sense of them!!! I only wished I had recored them. They are laughing and snorting like pigs. I didn't ask.
And who would complain at seeing Nick Adams one night in New Hope??? Not I.
And finally this weekend, I was at my friend Doug's for another sitting. He has always been involved in art, but recently did his first drawing of people. Every year here in New Hope, there is a exhibit called Naked In New Hope...nudes of all kinds, oils, pastels, charcoals, photography, sculpture and other various art mediums. And the waiters for the event wear but...nothing! I had several sittings for him to get the feel of doing the drawing, before he really started to "immortalize me" . This weekend while there, and after we were done, he showed me three of the possible ones he will submit. They were done with charcoals. My phone flash dulled the richness though. As per Duchess Deedles request.....
I worried what they may look like, He didn't show me any drawings up till now. I do like them. But I did ask, do my ribs show like that??? Meanwhile it was an interesting thing to do. My friend Doug is very funny and charismatic. So I felt relaxed with him in the nude. His partner stopped in a couple times...and it did seem weird to be the only one in the room naked at times...and he asked if Doug was behaving himself!!! He was! And to answer Tim's question...yes... there was a few times that the compass needle pointed north... had a mind of it's own!!! But I figured that's life, and went back to my bread making. At first I was nervous, but now glad I did it.
Variety is the spice of life after all.
