LUXURY AT HUDSON YARDS

If you know three things about the Mistress...they are 1, I love men, 2-I love my gin...and 3- I love shopping. Now mind you, I don't shop often...probably once a season just to refresh essentials and a few new pieces to add into the mix. I for the most part am a classical dresser, but will add a touch of trend, or a urban twist to give it a update  look.... to most of my outfits. I always keep a few trendy pieces  handy so I can mix and match into my wardrobe. So when I was in New York last week for meetings and porotype, I jumped at the chance when my friend Mimi asked me to come to the new Neiman Marcus for my two extra days I took in the city. She is fun if not a bit nuts.

We met at Balazar first then headed over  She even got me a pass to the opening of Neiman Marcus, where she is in her new title as the HR Manager. On Thursday they weren't yet opened, but she gave me a tour...seemed we had the whole store till ourselves, except for the store staff running around making sure everything was just so. I was very impressed with the store, and this is the first Nieman's to ever be in NYC.   Marrying modern luxury with customer-focused innovation ..... for a seamless shopping experience is what a got. The huge store features thoughtfully curated products, unique services, an impressive art collection, and three signature dining options, which includes Cook & Merchants, Bar Stanley, and most notable, The Zodiac Room. Neiman Marcus customers will find iconic brands, alongside emerging brands, and exclusive product selected especially for  people in New York City. I by no means shop Neiman's regularly...I even call it Needless Markups. But I do like a neat, clean, organized store to shop, with excellent service and the absence of scream, squalling brats, and no views of ass cracks hanging out...so I don't mind paying more for clothes and service.

They certainly seemed to make shopping as easy as possible.  Mimi showed me Digital stylists, connecting with shoppers from the new "Digital Styling Lounge". Here stylists who've connected with customers digitally will have a space to seamlessly engage with their clients in an intimate shopping experience. A Personal Shopping Lounge where Manhattan's  shoppers can work one-on-one with Neiman Marcus skilled stylists to find the perfect looks for them. The Men's Club Room featuring a private fitting room and styling experience, right down to your briefs! Digitally-enabled fitting rooms that elevate the shopping experience by creating new ways for shoppers to engage with their sales associates: M audio services allow customers to access and modify the store's music playlist like a digital jukebox. Digital directories found at each of the store's entrances providing customers with an intuitive interface that provides them with a quick search of departments, vendor locations, in-store events, and promotions. ChargeItSpot stations in the store that charge customers' mobile devices.

They even had a in store cobbler and shoe shiner, and a salon and barber for the men. Of course I was more enthralled by the visual, merchandising and the actual shops and the clothing. The lovley Carven Shop.
I'm a huge Tom Ford whore....and was all about this shop.
Such lovely things, good quality, and everything displayed just so.
Chanel!!!!
I'm also a coat and jacket junkie!

They even have a florist in the store!
The Mistress even found something she would have liked.
Keeping with the Neiman Marcus tradition, Hudson Yards concentrates also on bringing new works from local artists or artists with strong ties to the area, and the store features there work all through out, which I also think is amazing. And when the opening party happening Friday...it was all top notch. You know I was in a good mood.
I had one of these...a gin and grapefruit fizz
And two of these.... Lemon Lime Patron. Adored the straw.
But the biggest surprise of the evening came when Ms. Liza Millenni came out to sing New York New York!!!
The gays were all falling out...except yours truly. She's cool, but I was never a huge fan. I know. Do I have to hand in my gay card now???
But this should make up for that. I tried on later , this Dolce and Gabbana tapestry suit that I fell in love with. I didn't see spending $5,400 for it. I mean would I really get that much use to wear it? And I would have to spend hours on my back to pay for that!!!!! I did come home with two new summer sweaters though, and a pair of white denim.
But between that suit and Liza singing it was a pretty gay day. So there was that.

  2. I love the little Patrons, and does it say something about me that when you said in-store cobbler my mind went to dessert?

  5. I don't think I have ever seen a store like that. I'd be like Toto, we aren't in Ohio anymore! Does look fun though. You need to do some more of those post about your clothes again...they gave me good ideas.

  6. I have many accounts with Nieman's in the cosmetics beauty hall, so I can't wait to see the new store. I hear the technology alone in there is quite amazing. Looks fun and LIZA!!!!!

Loving that suit! I don't know your comfortable, but it looks great on you.

  9. $5,400!!!!!! Shit gurl, that's like three months rent for me!!!!

I do like shopping in a nice orderly store though, or a nice little boutique.

  12. All looks so lovely! Thank goodness you clarified you had a gin and grapefruit fizz...I thought you meant you had a waiter.

  13. I loathe (I've been using that word a lot lately) shopping! That suit costs more than my car, and my monthly house payment! Not even if I were rich! Screaming brats and visible ass cracks, not to mention name recognition by the pharmacy staff, are the reasons I go to Walmart :)
You, dear heart, are so very multifaceted. I wouldn't know a trend if it bit me on the nose!
As for Liza with a "Z", I don't mind her voice, I've just always wanted to scrub her face. If you're not a drag queen, knock it off with the humongous lashes all ready!

    1. You get an award for stepping foot in a Walmart. Yours must be better then the ones here.

    2. On behalf of all the Tacky Tessas out there, I accept this award! That's right, I own my Walmartianism!

  14. Love the Dolce! Would probably only keep either the jacket or the pants. Too much of a statement.
Mimi sounds like a ton of fun and looks gorge!

    1. Agreed! the pants were extremely fitted. I thought if the pants went home they would go well with a black velvet jacket I have. But settled for white denim...spring is coming after all....

  15. What a magnificent place to go broke and/or indulge in wishful thinking. I'd mostly like to indulge in a gin and grapefruit fizz (or two)...and perhaps a waiter.

I wonder if the cobbler could do anything with my old cowboy boots.

    1. That's just it....wishful thinking. Luckily I have my resources to shop and can find many looks else where at affordable prices and still drink gin.

  18. I used to shop at Neiman's in my younger, more hip (more money available) days. Sadly, those have passed as evidenced by issues I've been having with the M.D., etc. Oh, and let's not forget the sagging dancer's ass! :-/

  19. I love our Neiman's here in Dallas where the first original Neiman's started. We have their discount store here as well that's named Last Call. Its still pricey but you can get great wedding gifts, etc with Neimans tags and your friends think you're the bomb!! LOL

    1. Thanks for stopping by Holli! My closet Neimans is in King Of Prussia. I'm one to pay the price whether it be a thrift store or high class joint...if I really want something. We also have Last Call....but its hit or miss with selection.

  20. Looks like a great, fun way to spend the day. I too can not stand a messy store. If I have to search and dig in a mess, Im done and out of there. And those cocktails looks yummy. I would ear that jacket, but would never pay that much!!!

  21. Nice suit, but there's no way I'd spend that kind of money on one. As for the cock-a-tail and Liza, I'm game.

  22. I demand you take that suit off this minute!!!!!!!!
