HOOD- WINKED

No, I'm not talking about the hooded Little Red, but the "hoodie"!
I can remember when the hoodie became the rage a couple years back. I got on to the band wagon late. It seemed most hoodies were sports themed, and I have never had anything in my wardrobe sports themed, except maybe a Phillies ball cap, and maybe a singlet, but that's another story!!!! I went one day and bought a hoodie before I went to the Pocono Mountains to spend time with friends, and went nuts with them since. The hoodie is misunderstood! I do think the hoodie now is a versatile piece and can be worn many ways, besides to sports games, and knocking around in. I have since bought the basic cotton hoodies, and ones that look like sweaters. There are all kinds out there and in many fabrics. Above is just a sampling of a stack. Over time I have worn them more layered ways, and for different excursions.

Here is a hoodie from Alternative I wore with a simple graphic tee with a ribbed sweater from J.Crew, paired with grey chinos by Standard One..... Good for a casual date night in New Hope.

If I'm at the store and I know I won't be on the sales floor and doing behind the scene work,  I may dress like this some days. The hoodie here is paired with a James Perse button down, Citizens of Humanity jeans, and a tie by Hugo Boss worn loosely tied. Hoodie is Zipped up.......

then simply unzip the hoodie and loosen the tie further and your ready to join the clan for drinks at happy hour.....

Around the house,  I will pair this Equipment hoodie with a denim shirt from Vince, and mix that up further with a pair of light stone colored jeans from Joe's Jeans....

There are those days when my suitor and I may go into downtown Philly into the gayborhood to a trendy hot spot. When out for drinks or dinner this is a usual look for me. This is one of my favorite things to pair together. The hoodie here is from James Perse, paired with a striped button down from Banana Republic, a jacket from Diesel and jeans from Hudson. Not only is it comfortable, but I don't feel overly dressed up, and my suitor later loves all the unzipping and un buttoning!!!!

Denim is all the rage this spring, even mixing denims together. I recently just bought this denim jacket by Seven of All Mankind and paired it with a tee from Scotch and Soda, a grey Alternative hoodie worn unzipped. Here I wore it with a slim fit cord by Adriano Goldschmied and a blue scarf from Uniqlo, perfect for a day in the city, shopping, light dinner or just touring around......

Another hoodie paired my my favorite jacket by Superdry, a tee and jeans from Seven's......Color always adds a pop!

With no real plans on weekend which seem to be rare, I will often just do this casual look for running local errands to the market, dry cleaner, grocery store and the like. The Professor likes this look when he come to visit! Easy access he says. The hoodie here is from James Perse and the tee is from Theory. I love wearing this around the house a lot too.

and some days I like to wear just jeans and a hoodie and nothing else......

Makes slipping into bed that night very easy!!!!! In the summer I usually switch to summer light weight sweaters,  but the hoodie does come in handy for beach nights and mountain nights. All this time I have never thought the hoodie could be so versatile, who knew? I 've been hood winked I tell you!

  15. Yet another thing we have in common... I have a weakness for hoodies too. I just bought yet another one last weekend at Old Navy. Hubby always gives me a hard time, "Another hoodie!" I can't help it, there so versatile and fun. My favorite look, hoodie with a blazer.

Also, I'm curious about your performance days and your tucking technique...

    1. Well when it came to drag I almost always did a huge ensemble or long dress with major control foundations, there was no tucking!!!!! There was no telling him where to go or stay!!!!!!!!! I had no idea you did the same thing! We'd be trouble together doll.
