Have You Seen Burlesque?

Well, well, well, it seems Friday night when J got here, the Mistress decided we would take it easy before a early morning get up to head to Atlantic City, so I noticed Burlesque came out On Demand and Netflix, so we watched it as I had wanted to see it. Can I tell you how pleasantly surprised I was with it? I had heard bad things about it, but I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Now, it wasn't a major film with a message, or Oscar material, or even a major blockbuster. I though it was a very light, feel good movie, and very entertaining. Christina Aguilera did a good job acting for a first role I thought, and she looked incredible in the flick! I don't think I ever saw her look better and could she ever use those pipes to belt it out! Check her out in these pics! Stunning!

The story line was cute and light, and the repore between Cher and Christina as club owner and performer was very well done. The handsome Eric Dane, and the sexy and adorable Cam Gigandet were very nice eye candy and added to the movie. And how can you not enjoy them? With those two, and the Mistress, it's a menage a troi waiting to happen! And even Stanley Tucci was his fun shelf. And again, Christina's voice gave me chills several times, and she blew the number A Guy That Takes His Time out of the water! I have the Mae West version on a vinyl( don't ask how, long story) and she sounds just like Mae in her young years. Check out talented Christina performing the number. This was my chills scene. This scene alone makes the Mistress want to do Burlesque !!!! Faaaaaaabulous!

I'm soooooo getting this movie's soundtrack! So did any of you see it? I would love to hear your opinions.

  6. now kabuki will go and see it. check out The Pontani Sisters out of Coney Island. A authentic burlesque act with a burlesque workout video. They are some of kabuki's fave girlfriends. Not that Mistress needs to work out, just thought you might like the moves.

  8. Actually all the reviews that I have read for Burlesque are positive and put down claims that it's like Showgirls and say it's more like Chicago and that Christina was amazing in it. I am seeing it this weekend.

  9. Well I saw it and LOVED IT! It was a feel good movie. And I'm not a fan of Christina, but I loved her style os singing in this movie. Honestly, I like it better than any other movie for pure entertainment value. I give it 9 of 10 stars (on my rating scale)! Some critics take fun movies way too seriously.

Hi!! Great blog! I must say that it maybe wasn't the best movie I have ever seen, but for me it was definitely a thrill ride. 4 stars out of 5, from me. This people worked really hard on this, and it really became something beautiful. You can almost feel they all had fun while making it too.
