  1. It never ceases to amaze me how some people just spew hatred, especially toward such a wonderful, caring human being. Did she have her human faults? Sure, no more than others, and probably a lot less than many. She was a huge humanitarian, beautiful and always glowing. She fought to help many

  4. Another great movie legend is gone from our midst. They just don't make them like they used to. The lady was the Queen. Burton was King, and togeather they brought the art of acting to its very best. Elizebeth Taylor was the definition of Celebrity! Rest in Peace Ms. Taylor, you will be sorely missed!

  5. I'm nowhere near the area, but can someone please look into organizing a counter-protest against the hateful b@stards from Westboro "Baptist Church" who plan to picket the funeral?

  8. Goodbye Liz. You were beautiful, generous, and a warm spirit. Your like will not come again. We will be forever in your debt for the glamor the wonderful acting and the Hollywood lifestyle of the past you so eagerly fit into.

  9. Well before my time, but seeing these pictures in her prime, I must say, she sure was smokin' hot.

  10. She was indeed the last true movie star. There's a scene in the brilliant movie THE LAST PICTURE SHOW where teenage Sonny is kissing his girlfriend at the movies, and at the same time looking over at the screen and seeing Elizabeth Taylor--imagining he's kissing her. For every young guy at that time she was the ideal. Elizabeth Taylor gave us love, laughter and many memorable performances. Some people live life and some imagine the life they want to live. She did both

  11. One never mixed up another actress with Taylor. Very like Marilyn Monroe. - Unique

  12. Sexiest Liz Taylor moment (besides Butterfield 8) has got to be "Cleopatra" when she was walking and rolling around practically nude (scandalous for that day and age in the movies) in just what amounted to a see through gown. That was something! She will be missed.

  13. Sadly, one of the last true classics is gone. At 43 y/o, I hope my generation and younger will embrace classic movies with the great stars and personalities such as Taylor. Their acting prowess and movie quality of the 1930's-60's is unlike anything found in theaters today.

  14. Another Icon gone....So very sad. Loved all her
movies...especially "Taming of the Shrew" and of course Cleopatra.

  15. I always admired Elizabeth Taylor very much for the consistency in the beliefs that she has expressed in public - speaking about a friend going through difficult times and promoting humanitarian causes.

  17. We have problems in Libya, homeless people all around, and all the poor people of Japan suffering from the natural disasters in Japan, and all everyone can talk and worry about is the death of a woman who was a so-so actress, who was a horny wowman married 7 or 8 times, had to many drama, and poped pills and washed them down with vodka. She was no saint, and people die everyday! She did do good, but move along already, it's not like any of us knew her on a personal basis!!!!!

  18. Rest in peace, Ms. Taylor. And to Stuart, if you didn't like her or agree with her lifestlye then don't comment and let the rest of us remember her without your negative comments. Were you born ugly or did you grow into it?

  19. I will miss her and her talents, but at least she left us many works to remember her by. And to Stuart, assholes are like elbows, everyone has one. Show some respect, some of us happen to love this woman and if you dont like it ....... well you know what to do!

  20. Snark, snark, snark. Like every human being, Elizabeth Taylor had her faults and foibles, but she also had her gifts and graces, including being a loyal friend and a generous benefactor. May she rest in peace, and may one of you just shut up about it.

  21. I'm not "saintly" nor do I profess to be, but all actors and actresses will be seen as the best and most talented star ever when he/she dies.....it's pathetic!

  23. I won't lie, I haven't seen many of her films but as a gay person coming out years ago she was the first person I really remember standing up for the gays.Elizabeth Taylor was glamorous with a capital G. Talent & brains combined with a stunning natural beauty. She had a zest for life & a caring heart. Her courage in adversity & charity work alone would win her a place in heaven. God bless you Liz, you were one of a kind and thanks for helping me come out. and Stuart, who are you to presume to have ANY IDEA of Liz Taylor's life. That was a brief time in her life. Seems to me that you demonstrate the true selfishness - of the heart. Your ill will and lack of empathy are disgusting.

  24. She gave one of the great screen performances in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" She devoured that part. Brilliance.

I have rubbed elbows with many celebrities in my journey. I don't know if it's the Universe sending them my way, or if it's a perfect chance. But I've got many stories to tell.

But here's one story where I didn't have direct contact with a celeb...but a degree.

My ex, Ron, was the Estate Manager for Malcolm Forbes (who was a dear friend of La Liz). And yes, I've been to his home for a cock-a-tail (as you would say)/ BBQ party that his son, Kip, held a few years ago).

Ron regaled a story of one time when Liz was staying at Malcolm's home. My ex and a housekeeper were in her guest room admiring her jewels on the makeup table...then she walked in the room and caught them.

"We were just admiring your fabulous jewels, and wondering if we should put them in a safe place for you!", he said.

To which she responded, "Dahlings, please allow me to show you the REAL thing." To which he said she proceeded to the closet, pulled out a piece of luggage, opened it and whipped out the multi-million dollar stunners.

And he said she behind closed doors had the mouth of a truck driver. Elegant, but could throw down with the best of them.

    Rest in peace, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Taylor -despite negative commentary here, has left an indelible impression on humanity. Like any, her life included personal dramas, scandal and controversy... SHE LIVED LIFE!!! I echo the sentiment expressed her by so many... she will truly be missed! Let us not forget Dame Elizabeth Taylor's incredible contribution as humanitarian - amfAR Founding International Chairman http://www.amfar.org/page.aspx?id=9588
Thank you Mistress Maddie for your beautiful post!
