Ordeal Just for A Walk
I love icicles don't you? At least till they fall. I know it has been cold for many of you around parts of the country and it's no different here. I don't mind the cold weather because that means I get to light about 20 candles around here and have many hot toddies. The two together now seeing it on screen could spell trouble. I really don't feel much like playing the part of Susan Flannery trapped with Robert Wagner in the office seen from Towering Inferno. Although it would only be a second floor jump. Anywho, this week was more cold weather in the low twenties most of the week and high winds most days. Yesterday we had a two inch storm come threw, so that always makes for a trip to work filled with hilarity. Other then that, I don't mind the cold weather, well there is this other ordeal though. Walking Buster Bolfig. Since our condo complex doesn't have fences, we have to walk Buster to "make his will". But in addition to that we take him on two big walks a day. There is the AM and the PM walk. With Buster Bolfig being a Doxel they call them, a mix of Dachshund and Beagle, he as MUCH energy, which requires much exercise. Which means in this weather lots of layers and time getting ready to just take a walk.
Now, I can't speak for the Boy-Toy but the Mistress always layers up and is one of the bitches that has to look somewhat, alright all the way, put together before stepping outside her door. You just never know who you might run into. Like the hot, married daddy up the street! And one doesn't want or need the neighbors thinking I have no fashion sense mind ya. In this cold weather I really do layer up. I start with jeans and a shirt with a sweater over that. Then a pick which jacket to wear. I could go all urban with a creme denim jacket with faux fur collar, or for a rustic look, with the fleece or corduroy jacket. Then there is the gray clubby jacket or just the preppy pea coat. Too many choices. Then their is the coordinating of the all important accessory- the scarf! I have like over 20 of them. Do I go with a strip, solid, checked,or hounds tooth? Fringe or no fringe? After selecting that,I then chose a hat. I can do a knit hat, a yarn hat, or a baseball cap. A fur pill box, a fez, or a winter turban. I also have a selection of head bands that skiers wear. I usually like those for they won't mess the coif and they keep the ears warm. And my spiky hair can go out the top. And then the gloves finally. Gloves. boring. After all my selection process is done, and I finally get dressed and do a double check in the mirror, Buster Bolfig, who has been waiting patiently all along is passed out! Tootles.
