JIGGLY BOARD

It was sad news to learn yesterday on my way home that Queen Jiggly Caliente passed away. I had heard news last week from friends of her health failing and planned on doing a post of well wishes of sorts to send good vibes her way, only to hear her health declined further after a severe infection, was hospitalized, and as a result loss most of her right leg. Jiggly was a luminous presence in the world of drag and was celebrated for her infectious energy, fashion statements, fierce attitude, dance numbers and unwavering authenticity. Jiggly was also known by her real name of Bianca Castro-Arabejo as she came out as a transgender in 2016, while she had already begun the process while of RuPaul's Drag Race and publicly acknowledged it later. She went on the do an All-Stars season, became a regular on Pose and was later named the head judge of RuPaul's Drag Race Philippines for two seasons...in addition to an outspoken activist for the LGBT.Rest well Queen.

    1. I remember her character Veronica doing some serious Runway cutting. Jiggly probably would have been excellent at Ballroom.

  6. She was one of my favorites on season 4. I was another shock when I heard this. I think you're correct I think it was diabetes related. She was getting very very stunning since her transition. And since transitioning could she get any more stunning?

    1. Like so many of the bigger Queens, I recall her getting discounted very quickly. It wasn't till all stars that she became really fierce, and came back with a vengeance.

  8. Nice tribute...she'd love those musical selections you choose. She was always so "ladylike" with words. Rest well Jiggles💔

  9. I caught two of her shows and she came to New York City, where she performed her set one of which was the song All this Body. She certainly could shake a stage apart. What sad news for her family.

  10. OMG so sad!
I started hearing rumors last week, also and then BAM! She passed. She was such a light. Fantastic personality and according to the dozens of Queens talking about her, a super good friend and a riot to be with.
    Rest in Peace, Bianca!

    XOXO

  11. So sad for her family. Met Jiggly several time at shows. Jiggly's stories were so cool, my favorite was how she was so hesitant to even submit an audition to the biggest shows she was on when both times they were looking for someone like her. It teaches us that sometimes all you need to do is show up and present yourself because your talents could be valuable in ways even you couldn't yet imagine sometimes ❤️❤️ All the love to Jiggly

  12. I remember her well on her two seasons. Very lively and feisty. It breaks my heart to read of young ones dying so soon, with their life still laying out. And yes, she did work that runway on Pose.

  18. Oh I used to love jiggly. She came to p-town once and she was a hoot. That picture of her with the updo and the gray streak! I've never seen her more elegant. Such a shame she left us.
