STOP THE CAR!!!!

I saw this in the last week. While I would die before becoming a Republican, as I don't share many, if not most, of their views and outlooks, and general morals of late. I don't agree with everything Dems do either.  I can also be a typical Scorpio and sting the Democratics too. From what I have seen and heard of Barabra Lee I love her. Not only did I see this from Mr. Cadelago, but I also saw her mention the pressure from the Democratic Party to drop out. DROP OUT?!?!

Because CA senator Diane Feinstein croaked, there's now a special election to replace her. I saw how Politico ask residents if to vote today, who'd they vote for...and this is how it framed their coverage and results. By acting surprised that Barabara Lee will stay in the race. Well, here were their results.

Katie Porter-16%
Adam Schiff- 40%
Barabara Lee- 41%

Does it look like someone in the lead should drop out??? Even small. Are the Dems not listening to what their own party voters want? That's a very republicans thing you ask me. No, I don't think she should drop out, but establishment media and Democratics hate anyone who seems to call for a ceasefire. This weekend Katire Porter and Adam Schiff do not want cease fire, and as a result, both were heckled relentlessly at their recent campaign events, respectively. Are politicians not hearing anymore what their voters want???  And so much for championing for black women too. This party needs to be better than this.

  1. Ohhh
I see. The Politico article says she was below Schiff, though... And they all have very similar platforms. Barbara is trying to differentiate herself with her position about the Israel-Hamas cease fire where she's more aligned with Porter than with Schiff.

    This is from November 13:

"The Oakland congresswoman remains far behind Los Angeles Rep. Adam Schiff and Orange County Rep. Katie Porter in the lead-up to the March 5 primary, when voters will select two candidates to advance to the November general election.

A Public Policy Institute of California poll taken in early to mid-October shows 9% of likely voters prefer Lee. This puts her in third place behind Schiff, who has the support of 21% of likely voters, and Porter, who drew 18%."

There are nuances here I wish I could understnd better, though...

    XOXO

    1. What gets me the most is why we can't back the women more.

Sometimes, people can't see what's right in front of them. Kinda like the people offering a state rep $20 if he would drop his bid for US Senate to challenge Tlaib in the House race. And folks funding RFK, Jr. (well, okay, that's coming from the Repubs). But, you get the flow of how the '24 races are shaping up.

  3. This is yet another example why I feel Democrats are basically Republicans that support abortion rights. I have a vote in that election, and I'd love to cast it for Barbara Lee when the time comes. If they pressure her to step down, I just might vote for the Republican out of spite.

Alternately, I could write in Eric Swalwell, who notoriously called Kevin McCarthy a pussy to his face.

    1. I don't think I could ever vote for a republican, unless they aren't crazy, socially conservative, nuts or bigoted. Is there such a thing? I do worry that my party is at times acting just like the R's.

  4. What did Barbara Lee do to upset the Democrats? Want to cancel abortion? Admire der Trumpenfuhrer? Support George Unsaintly? Do a Lauren Bobblehead?

    1. I don't think she upset them, but it's pretty oblivious they want Schiff. Again, the same old. God forbid we get any new blood. Barbara Lee also supports a cease fire with the current war.

  5. This is my first time hearing about Barbara Lee, so I don't know anything about her. I really like Katie Porter and I would consider her as a candidate for president in the future.

  6. I looked for that info, that they asked her to drop out, and couldn't find it anywhere. What Democrats in California are doing is refusing to endorse either Lee, Porter, or Schiff, so what Cadelago is saying doesn't quite ring true. https://www.kcra.com/article/california-democrats-meet-to-consider-endorsement-in-us-senate-race-ahead-of-march-primary/45882943#

    1. The party didn't ask her to drop out...they just won't support her since DC Dems want Schiff. She won't drop out and will see it to the votes are counted. I just don't know why voters and incumbents are so afraid of new blood.

  7. Barbara Lee is a treasure to California. She's the wrap of my friend who lives there and she is really good. I think she would make a better Senator than Adam Schiff. Nothing against them but I think he's got he's been there too long. At what point do these people stay so long to get useless?

  8. Anyone....but military industrial Schiff. I too saw where Palestinian protests heckled Porter and Schiff. Makes me wonder if this won't be the next big divide in both parties.

  9. Personally I think Katie Porter should endorse Lee, who's already up in her years, let Barbara Lee serve one term, then let Lee endorse Katie Porter who's not even 50 yet. Porter should make the smart political move to endorse Lee now after the California debates and before she rips Adam Schiff a new one.

  10. Go, Barbara Lee! This is just more politics per usual. Wait her turn? Barbara Lee does not sit at the back of the bus!

  11. Waste of money to conduct a special election in March 2024 when the regular election is in November 2024. The woman appointed already said she is not seeking to run for the seat in the interim.

  12. I don't live in California, but it is painfully clear the Democratic Party is so determined to install Adam Schiff. Never could stand him.
