POSTCARDS #17

Like many other bloggers, I'm looking at you David and Mitchell, I take way too many pictures of things in life, or on trips. I don't have fancy cameras, just two digital cameras, that I switched back and forth between, and my cell phone. I have way more picture of things then I should. Being visual I like everything and nothing of interest. I can just snap at things too. I rarely stand and focus and do all the professional things one probably should do. Sometimes I even snap while walking and aren't even looking through the viewer.  Many pictures get trashed when I edit them down into albums on the laptop. But here are a few saved favorites that never quite got into a post on the blog from the past year. Above is a snap of the entrance to Chinatown in Philly.

Geese along the canal on a return trip to New Hope in the late summer.

City Hall in Philly of one of numerous returns trips this year. One of my favorite buildings in Philly.

A lit sign along the river in Harrisburg.

Contemplation.

My big feet view, taken in the bathroom in my room up in P-town this fall.

A Kingfisher taken on my last walk around Lake Galena before moving in March.

Expresso Martini's at Prunella's in Philly
Lilith in the giftwrap while trying to wrap a few gifts.

Koi in a pond at a Japanese Hibachi in Hershey.

Christmas at Ubar in Philly. What can I say, the wreath called to me!
Speaking of Ho's.
Carol Ann Carol Ann, and Sharon Husbands at the Woods Campground.

A few of the Mistress's wigs.

Buddakhan in Philly on a visit for dinner.

A current amaryllis in the dining room

My friend at Kolher Farms in Bucks County

A random barn on an estate in Mechanicsburg

The Rodin Museum

A view of Philly at night from a hotel room.

Two more snaps from this week's little snow fall. How crisp and clean it felt.
And , well, since it is after all hump day.

Happy Hump Day!

    Pat Lark says,
Those are some wonderful photos. That entry to Chinatown looks just like the entry to our Chinatown here. Go figure...LOL.
We don't take many photos at all. One thing I learned over the last month as we're cleaning out a friend's house (who died back in Nov) is that, one day, someone is going to go through it all and not have any idea who or what the photos are about. They'll end up in the trash (literal or virtual). Because of this experience, we've begun clearing out our own house.

  3. I adore. You have a great eye, as I've mentioned in the past. Faves: The geese and the kingfisher. Stunning stuff. I also have a thing for big feet, and based on that last photo... you, ummm, could squeeze me in :) Kizzes.

I particularly love the Amarylis, the espresso martini and of course the dogs.

I think I own a camera, but I have not used it in YEARS! I only take pics with my phone, alas.
And you know what they say with men with big... feet, right??

    2. Are you boys saying you want to find out if that big foot thing is true? And I think you should take pictures Six. I would love to see what you take pictures of.

    3. My gauge of "what's lurking below" is always the size of the hands, not feet. I'm rarely wrong. Jx

PS I am sure I posted another comment but it's not appeared. Maybe I've gone to junk. To coin a phrase.

    4. That is actually true Jon... a hard cock is the length of one's hand. Do we now think some are whipping them out hard to measure?

  11. I've only ever seen a kingfisher live on a trip down the Thames, but it's a memory that will stay with me forever. Our kingfishers seem to be a more greeny blue than yours and lack the crown.

  12. I love your photos, and you have a lovely bottom! I didn't take many photos for a long time but now I enjoy snapping this and that with my phone. Most of my pictures are of Franklin & Penelope. I certainly don't have the eye of an artist as you have.

    Love,
    Janie

  13. I love random collections of memories like this. We too keep all ours saved in folders on an expansion drive, by event/trip/holiday/month, and they go back years. When I unexpectedly lost a random folder of files (not photos) last month, however, and was unable to retrieve them using any recovery software, it sent a jolt through me to think "what if it had been the photos?" So I immediately purchased some space online on Google Drive to back them up... Worth a thought. Jx

    1. You sound like me with any folders for different occasions. I should do the same as it has happened to me in the past. Right now, I have files on the laptop, and pictures also stored on Pinterest in different categories, but not made public.

  15. So, "I take way too many pictures of things in life"? Nice! Very nice! Thanks for that parting shot, too. Speaking of which, I have a photo I took last week after I poured out an entire bowl of soapy water on myself instead of in the sink. I thought it would be a funny blog post. Except that it looked more like porn — and quite hot I might add — and I decided to keep it to myself.

  16. The Philly Restaurant Buddakan looks amazing! They're all very nice pictures. You always feature nice pictures which is one of the reasons I've always been drawn to your blog. And what's not to like about hump day pictures, especially when they're that nice.
