This weekend I had yet another wedding to attend to, the third this summer... at a different kind of venue. The Farm at Eagles Ridge grounds are home to historic buildings, enchanting spring fed ponds, stunning sunsets, and breathtaking views of the pristine countryside of historic Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
It was like stepping into a world of rustic country elegance with a beauty that is both expansive and intimate at the same time. This weekend was for a ex-worker's wedding, who became a very good close friend. We simply bonded at my old store location...she even called me her gay husband! The weather had been threating all week and even the night before with downpours and flooding, but come Saturday...it was a glorious day for a wedding. My dear friend couldn't have been more elegant and radiant.
I got a wee bit teary eyed when she danced with her father.
The ceremony was very intimate and quiet, with almost just the sounds of various birds chirping, with exception to a trio of musicians.
Have you seen a more lovely sweet hearts table????
What a good use of a old 1820's barn and corn crib?
Sparkler fun when the bride and groom departed back to the hotel!
Once it seemed the entire wedding party and guest were back to the hotel, the festivities continued with copious amounts of libations and good cheer... and I loss count after the 9th Fireball shot!!! Like I said, there was an EPIC hangover the next day darlings. But on a positive note, Daddy Warbucks finally got to see some Amish buggies on the way back to the Casa du Borghese.
Though, they didn't seem to impressed with seeing a hung Mistress.
So there was that.
what a beautiful site for a wedding! lovely bride too.
ReplyDeleteHello from Idaho and stop in from Debbie and my son and his wife got married at old farm a lovely wedding.
ReplyDeleteIf yu have time stop in for a cup of coffee
Welcome Preppylady!!!!! Thanks for stopping in.
DeleteThis place was so lovely and magical for a wedding! Hubs and I both enjoy outdoor weddings. Risky yes...but hearing nature enhancing the experience is unforgettable. Your friend looks stunning...and a touching picture with her father.
ReplyDeleteWilliams and I also love Lancaster County and make a trek at least twice a season to have a walk about downtown, which is surprisingly chic, and the country side at market and Amish shops.
Your right Agnes. We had lunch downtown after checking out. It had been years since in Lancaster....the downtown was thriving with pubs, restaurants and shops.
DeleteLovely festivities indeed. But if you were there, wouldn't that make it a hoedown?
ReplyDelete"snicker"
DeleteBoth of you childern to my quarters right now........
DeleteI'll bring the camera!
Delete9 shots of Fireball?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteI'd been on the floor after two. Looks like it was a glorious wedding and one you will remember. How cool to actually see the Amish buggies! I too am loving the venue...heavenly.
What a beautiful setting for a wedding. That 1820's barn is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteI used to see a lot of those Amish buggies in the Ozarks, but I almost never see them around here (they'd probably fall off the mountain cliffs...)
What a gorgeous venue. Rustic chic, my fave!
ReplyDeleteI love that venue, and I'm glad the wedding went so well. Congrats to the new bride and groom.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and spectacular setting. Lovely and beautiful, radiant bride. Thanks for the wonderful fotos of a stunning and happy event.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad y'all had a good time and enjoyed the experience of bugging Amish.
Beautiful pictures. Eldest and DIL were married in much the same setting. Having the outside was great for all the little people. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe was so radiant is it safe to say sparks flew?
ReplyDeleteA "well" hung Mistress? Oh, I guess that's not what you meant. What a beautiful wedding. I for years absolutely hated weddings; resented celebrating something that we couldn't legally experience for ourselves. My cousin is getting married in Cartagena, Colombia in a year. "Smoking tropical or Black tie," the invitation reads... Málaga to Cartagena? Don't think so. Besides I don't OWN black tie anymore, although I wouldn't mind getting decked out in "smoking tropical" ... well, and then never ever needing it again! Anyway, back to that beautiful bride and stunning wedding. That barn conversion is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat barn was indeed stunning!
DeleteWhat a lovely venue. And bride. I haven't been to a edding in years. They always put me in such a happy warm fuzzy feeling. I spent a summer in Lancaster as a youth....im sure the Amish haven't changed much since. And good golly....those drinks! I would have been passed out at the reception hour.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very lovely day. I am adoring the sweet hearts table.....its stunning. Your friend had quite some good details.
ReplyDeleteLooks fun! I have seen you put it away. I don't know where you put it.
ReplyDeleteIt's like there is a whole in his foot.
Delete"They didn't seem too impresssed with seeing a hung mistress..." Horses probably wouldn't be impressed, no matter how big we are. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThe grounds are beautiful and well-decked out for that wedding. How much of a hand did you have in all that beauty?
None.....i was able to relax for a change.
DeleteI love that they turned a barn into a ballroom.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the idea of the sparklers!!! Thar is cool. Sure hope the rest of your week is going well.
ReplyDelete.... That was one expensive wedding. I probably would have put it to better use... and bought a small villa in France.
ReplyDeleteBetween all the different invites, the shower, the bachelorette and bachelor parties, both destination parties and the wedding itself, I shutter to think of what they spent!!!!
DeletePicturesque!
ReplyDeleteBeing in Philly and typically do not like green acres--dah'ling I love you, but give me Park Avenue!
That being said...
Couple years ago I ended up there to perform at a friend's wedding that was held at The Farm at Eagles Ridge. Not sure what to expect of a wedding on a farm outside one of the older inland towns.... I was more than impressed .
Your friend looks spectacular and glowing.
I would love to hear you play in that setting.
DeleteI hope I'm a bride one day......
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great day and how beautiful both the ceremony site outdoors, and the reception in the corn crib/barn were. Everything about the day looked perfect. But how you do 9 shots?!?! I'm buzzed just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to do some photograpghy work there.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a gorgeous day, and I'm loving the venue. I love outdoor weddings. Lancaster County I must say is one of the prettiest areas of Pennsylvania. I miss living in PA, it was one of the most diverse in locales compared to many states....so many offerings.
