MARKET DAY

This morning was absolutely beautiful out!!!! With getting back from Newport the week before last, and getting things caught up around the Casa,  and then going back to a full week of work, I hadn't time to go to the market. Is there anything better than getting local fresh produce at the market??? This time of year I really refrain from cooking to much and live on fruit and veggies, and cold pasta salads........

How good does this look?!?!?!?

In the summer months I go through tons of grapes and have been known to eat a pint of blueberries in a sitting. All this will most likely be gone by Tuesday!!!!! The lemons I used for a old family recipe for iced tea.

These Peonies looked gorgeous....fresh flowers are one of those pleasures that make me feel good.

Now.....if anyone needs me, I'll be heading to my faithful summer retreat the Raven Resort to join the gay boys by the pool, and break in this new square cut. Tootles!

  1. You remind me of my brother, a professional photographer in SF. He has a hard time not arranging an elements of a meal like Thanksgiving into an artistic grouping and taking a picture of it. :-)

  4. Oh yes, I agree. There is a market down here I like to go to on the mail line. I go every Saturday. The local produce is the best part. I also love honey I get from a lady that has a bee farm. I love my honey.this all looks good to me!

  8. I go to the Reading Terminal Market twice a week. I could spend hours in there! I love strawberries and blueberries myself, and can't wait for the corn to come in.

  10. So beautiful! I'm with you on the fresh eating. In the warmer months I don't like to eat hot foods as much, more fruits and cold veggies, pasta salads and fish.

  11. We always hit the market here on Saturdays. We seem to eat much more healthy in the summer too. Although we miss the comfort foods of fall and winter. Lovely and inspring photos.

  12. I stop at the market here almost everyday, at least when there open. I love the freshness the market can supply. Those flowers are pretty, I love the color of those peonies.

  15. I just had the feeling the Casa was filled with fruit. So nice to go to a all gay pool. I have a pool here in my complex but while some gay guys go it filled with kids. sigh.

  16. Your photographs are always like a warm hug, and portray your home as cheerful and inviting (and that's not even taking into account your stock of gin).

My peonies are poised to burst into bloom. I'm glad they waited, as the rain this weekend would have ruined the petals. A week of warm, sunny weather is forecast, so their timing may be perfect.

Anyway, your post has given me an idea for a photograph or two; a bit of a surprise for the mistress.
