Teri Yaki is from the the north side of Chicago. She and is currently looking for a new day job since nothing really holds her interests for more than a year or so but someday she says she will find something that she really wants to do for the rest of her life, besides being crazy! However at night, Teri Yaki is a bartender at Hydrate. She’s also , a Kabuki-inspired, costume-changing chameleon best known for getting into sticky situations each month at Hydrate’s delightfully tongue-in-cheek Lube Wrestling contest. She always performs at a variety of exotic venues, Mexico, Thailand, the french riviera, Gary, Indiana, and she is a 5th runner up to the coveted title of Miss Cook County Correctional facility,by the way ....that was a joke! She does a bunch of local stuff too like and does any worthy charity events for free. Teri is a big promoter of drag and thinks the pool of talent in Chicago is fine, but puts the responsibility on club owners to promote local talent. “I don’t know if they realize that drag is a part of gay culture,” Teri says. “They tend to stick with current trends—the shirtless boys, the high-end DJs—and drag gets put on the back burner.” You go girl!
