She Was More Than Lily Munster....
...... Yvonne de Carlo was a stunning beauty who appeared in more than 120 films. Just look at her beauty. Most people are shocked to see her out of character. She leaves me with chills. (September 1 1922- January 8 2007)
I just went on a Yvonne de Carlo binge last week too. I read more about this amazing woman. There must have been something that kept popping up on the interwebz about her. But I happy you remember her!
Loved her, she was a beautiful woman! There is something about old Hollywood. I am starting to agree with you on how stunning and glamorous the actresses were compared to now.
When I was a kid, everybody wanted to be Eddie Munster because he was so cool! But it was obvious that Yvonne De Carlo’s Lily was the glue that kept the Munster family together. Both the actress and the character will be long remembered.

I haven’t watched many films with Yvonne De Carlo in. The one I have watched a number of times is The Ten Commandments in which she played Sephora, the wife of moses. My sister and I used to love watching the epic movies when we were younger, of which The Ten Commandments was one. I thought Sephora, and Yvonne were so beautiful.
She was quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSad that most people only know her as Lily Munster!
Aside from her beauty, she had a distinctive voice, too. First movie I remember seeing her in was "Band of Angels" with Clark Gable.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree Mistress, there is something about that smoldering pout that is hyponotic!

ReplyDeleteI agree with the sentiments of the other posters. She was a joy to watch onscreen, a beautiful woman, and she will most definitely be missed!
