VALENTINE HEARTS

Does anything say Valentines Day like the candy conversation hearts??? From a young age we were always familiar with them from our classroom Valentine parties, and in our little Valentine mailboxes we would make to place or hang in the classroom. I can remember giving one little boy his own box and gave him a kiss when I gave them to him, and I was immediately told little boys don't kiss other boys. I should have bit that old hag. My little friend never cared, and we even talked about it through the years till he moved away in high school.  I always love seeing the little hearts, the colors are cheery.  And last year for Valentines the Lad found a company where you could have the box made with special sayings. He had two sayings put on them, "That Ass Tho", and never you mind what was on the other. They gave me a good chuckle. I have been terrible with the treats lately. As I replied to someone yesterday, if I don't watch it, my buttchops are soon to look like two VW Beetles trying to pass each other on a one-way street!! But hearts and sweets.. Valentine stalwarts.  And nothing wrong with some naughtiness...

💕💕Happy Valentine Day💘💘

ST.VALENTINE

  St Valentine's!

Saint Valentine is the patron saint of love. Believers say God worked through his life to perform miracles and teach people how to recognize and experience true love. This famous saint, an Italian doctor who later became a priest, inspired the creation of the holiday of Valentine's Day. He was sent to jail for performing weddings for couple during a time when new marriages were outlawed in the ancient Rome. Before he was killed for refusing to renounce his faith, he sent a loving note to a child he had been helping to teach, the daughter of his jailer, and that note eventually led to the tradition of sending little love notes and cards. While I may have never got into the holiday as much as others, I do like the fun of it with giving little notes and cards to friends and lovers on the day. I was busy last night making homemade chocolate covered cherries for work today for our desserts table. Nothing wrong with a little extra sweetest for the day, no darlings? Now back in school days, I use to love the little baskets or "mailboxes" we'd make and hang prior to our little Valentine party. One could get a little box of valentines with an assortment. I was always popular with the boys, but had I had these Valentines from my favorite comic artist, Caducado, I bet I would have been even more popular!!!

I suspect I'll hear from by boys later today...having just caught up with them all recently. As for me today, I'll enjoy the sweet shop at work and have a nice dinner with wine tonight. Who knows, maybe I'll even have a champagne bubble bath as well!!!

Spoke too soon. Just a few minutes ago I got a Valentine text from the Lad...containing this.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard that....

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
Much romance, love and sweets ...to you all.

LOVE BOARD

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

Any romantic or salacious sexiness for you???

A History of Love-Diane Ackerman

Love. Lust. What small words we use for an idea so immense and powerful it has altered the flow of history, calmed monsters, kindled works of art, cheered the forlorn, turned tough guys to mush, consoled the enslaved, driven strong women mad, glorified the humble, fueled national scandals, bankrupted robber barons, and made mincemeat of kings. How can love and lust's spaciousness be conveyed in the narrow confines of words with one syllable?

But if you know your Mistress, It's not one of my favorite holidays.

SWEETS 💘

It seems as soon as I appear to loose some weight, especially after the Lad has been here, some evil earthly delight is lurking around the corner to tempt me yet again. Never mind I met a friend in NYC last week and had my arm twisted badly, not to mention was drug, kicking and screaming to one of my favorite chocolatiers'. But I digress. No, today, I was minding my own business, most likely re-enacting a scene from Cruella for Lillith and Buster, when all a sudden the faint smell of sweetness whiffed by my nose. I knew what it was. I know that buttery smell. SANDTARTS!!! Yes, the Mother was baking her famous and legendary Sand tarts!!!  You have no idea the mass hysteria these things cause when she bakes them. I mean the neighbors even called over as they smelled the scent coming from the kitchen window today. At Christmas she bakes around 10,000 of these cookies, and she get hounded several times... when is she making them, and when can the said person expect them. And her list gets longer each year. I have yet seen any sand tarts as thin as my mother's either. I'm talking paper thin. And enough butter to even keep quiet Paula Dean. She generally only makes them at Christmas but this year I suppose she though I need to gain weight. Does she not know I wear skinny jeans? Many will go into the shop with me tomorrow.

All I know is I already ate my weight in them while they were cooling on the racks. Next week when I return back to Bucks County...I'll take some for the lumbersexual...and we can then work them off together.
