Well, as Alyssa Edwards says. I'm back back back again! In Bucks County that is. It's like having two homes currently. Hopefully the freelance projects will be signed off, I'll be catching up with Lumbersexual, who seems , I dare say, very happy to see me back. I got one hell of a nice hug. Yes! I was like Ok Ok....is this a proposal or are you taking inventory?" I'll have him for lunch Saturday...opps, I meant have him OVER for lunch Saturday. I'm also readying myself to go visit Pearly Gates up in Ptown shortly, then back to the Woods for a gig. Warn the residents in those areas. Once back , I head first to the farm up the road my neighbor runs to get a few provisions. And I got some wonderful duck time in. Well and chickens. I love feeding them. The first almost appeared to be smiling.

DUCK,DUCK,FOX
But truth be told I miss my foxes when I'm away. I got a brief glimpse of Vixen with at least one baby, which is rare to see them in the afternoon, but at the woods edge, it's common to see them. The kit has gotten big already. They really are so beautiful.
Before leaving the ancestral home, I clipped a ton of zinnia and asters. This was just my stash that came home. I got two vases worth for my mother and gave her neighbor a huge bouquet also. The zinnia did so well this year and went crazy.
Now the weekend will be complete if I get to see at least one more bird. Then your mistress will be ecstatic. I can't wait to go to bed...and if that don't work, I may sleep.

The zinnias are beautiful, I didn't plant any this year, and that was a mistake.
ReplyDeleteThey seemed to get really big this year. A good year for them. Your are always nice, if I recall your post Dave.
DeleteYou are just living the life Miss Martha Stewart. F those social media influencers and all their swag. You are the real deal, my dear. They should all take a clue from you and sit the F down. I love your posts like this one. Your life! I know it's a lot of work keeping that all up.. and you have mad skills and excellent taste... but you make it look so effortless and that is part of the beauty. Sigh. Thank you for sharing these glimpses. Makes my heart happy. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea gardening was so exhausting. It like the ocean...you can't turn your back for a minute. I'd rather you come play with me in the garden.
DeleteLove the flowers. And the ducks! There are ducks and geese in the pond near my house, but they are very cautious. Not a chance they'd come to have some munchies!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that you're busy. Hope you're keeping the mask on if you go to Ptown. There was an outbreak there. Even Steve Grand got it.
XOXO
Be careful with the geese, they can be very nasty. And they don’t give a shit, when they want to saunter across the road, they’re on goose time.
DeleteI think we will be keeping mostly to Pearly house and the beach near his place...so it will be a low key visit. Unlike last year, the crowds are back..I never go with a mask or jock strap.
DeleteAnd Huntley I know all about geese...we are infused with them here
The flowers are gorgeous, and smiling ducks are always welcome.
ReplyDeleteBut it's Mama and Baby Fox stealing the show today!
I tell you, if I could have pet fox I would
DeleteAwww, that's just adorable! 🧡
ReplyDeleteI love your flora and fauna posts. The flowers are amazing and the ducks are adorable. Be safe on your travels. Like Sixpence said, Ptown had quite the outbreak and even the vaccinated felt the effects.
ReplyDeleteI have second guessed my leave, but luckily Pearly is in a quiet part of town and has access to a private beach. I doubt we may venture into town to much, except maybe to dine or get take out.
DeleteI love seeing this side of you. You warm my heart.
ReplyDeleteThe ducks seem really friendly. I heard they are terrible parents, I'm not sure if it's true.
Nice to see mama for and her little one too.
The zinnias are so beautifully gaudy aren't they? I bet they bring lots of pleasure.
Glad you're back home, enjoy your lunch with the lumbersexual. He's a lucky guy!
Well the ducks I have seem tend to protect their ducklings, bot they do let them venture pretty far...I have seen the unfortunate fate that has met some of the young when a heron or crane swipe one and swallows it. It's terrible to watch.
DeleteZinnia...I agree but what cheer!
That black & white hen is very stylish. My favourite duck is confit de canard....sorry, I need to keep my mind off food. I mean a Mandarin duck, the male duck's plumage is very attractive.
ReplyDeleteSome ducks out their are really quite pretty. But I love them all really.
DeleteDo I sense sexual double talk in that last sentence? Enjoy the birds.
ReplyDeleteDucks! Arghh. They make a real mess of the pool - sad to say I must chase them out every Spring. But the flowers are soooo pretty. And Vixen is, too.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll have a wonderful time up at The Woods - Well, I know you will! It would be a great place to go hide away from the covidiots, wouldn't it?
Those zinnias are insanely beautiful, and asters are one of my favorite. So are you telling us your enjoying a lot of bird lately? I love ducks, but the chickens make me laugh watching them. I assume the ducks are more tame at your neighbors. Beautiful post Mistress.
ReplyDeleteYes, the ducks there are used to humans she has about 27 ducks and I have no idea how many chickens...I lost count.
DeleteSo is Peking Duck on the menu or suckling cock?
ReplyDeleteIt been awhile, but I love when you feed ducks...I love the feeling of their beaks on my hands taking to feed.
ReplyDeleteThe ducks are so adorable! I think I'm going to miss the loud turkeys crapping on my lawn. We'll see in the fall what awaits since our move. Right now it's an abundance of squirrels. Mads, they are ignoring any cease fire orders you are giving. You are telling them to cease and desist aren't you? I am an ally in the squirrel uprising, dammit! They're probably just thirsty. I'll set out a bowl of water and hope for the best.
ReplyDeleteOkay, that was going a bit off road. I too love your nature romps. You are such an earthy soul. So many facets.
Maybe they are after Balder half's nuts? Does he put any out there? I know the squirrels here love water.
DeleteYeah, with the drought and high heat they're eating through my drip lines. The poor roses look like they have the vapors. I'm sure the squirrels would prefer fresher nuts than Balder's, so no.
DeleteI love your nature stuff.
ReplyDeleteDitto.
DeleteI love seeing these type of photos. The flowers are beautiful, and I love seeing the animals. The only animals I see where I live are the two legged variety that cause a nuisance.
ReplyDeleteI had wondered if the fox were till around the Casa. I always loved the few fox pictures you were able to get. And the lumbersexual is coming for lunch? I just bet he is!
ReplyDeletewith all that fowl there is dinner for a month.
ReplyDeleteThat duck is smiling! I think I'll have Sweet Cheeks for supper tomorrow because I am not in the mood to cook.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Kitchen. Bedroom. Either room you still cook in!!!
DeleteA beautiful post. What exactly are you going to have Lumbersexual over? The dining table. Wing chair? Coffee table? The imagination wanders.
ReplyDeleteA fainting chaise Im thinking.
DeleteI Loved this Post Mads! Glad you had such a splendid time, the Photos of the Wildlife made my Day! I do Believe that first Duck IS Smiling!
ReplyDeleteThat fox would kill all those ducks and chickens if it could. They're vicious... Jx
ReplyDeleteA fox...we think...got into a friend's chicken coop...but it only killed the five chickens...didnt eat them....so now we don't know it was a fox.
DeleteIt is Sunday; how was lunch yesterday?
ReplyDeleteSx
Welllll...........nice lunch, then he broke out some weed and it may have headed south......
DeleteYou have such a large and overflowing basket, Maddie!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Adorable ducks and foxes.
It's especially painful when you accidently sit on part of the over flowing basket.
DeleteEspecially painful? I’ve heard it surprising delightful.
DeleteYou've answered the ageless question: "Why a duck? why a no chicken?" Answer < both !
