AUTUMN TRAVEL

The Mistress has been very busy of late. It stared last week when I was told I'd be going to several stores to help gather them together with my magic hands. While fun to get away and out of my own store, it was tiring to be in a different city so quickly. I was in DC, then Chicago, to New York and back to DC this week. What a whirlwind. But when on breaks, walking to the stores, or in Ubers, I did snap some pictures.

Left Philly....
Arrived in DC to head to Tyson's Corner...
One project...the suiting shop.
This little fellow on our night at a restaurant in DC. Thought it adorable, all he wanted was his owners attention and to get off the phone.
Then off to Chicago….
Our boss took us to dinner the night in Chicago with spectacular views.
The only downside....was had I been there longer, I would have LOVED to have met Sixpense and Huntly. I'm sure they could have shown me something or two. Then to New York....
Another legend is going.....
The thing is, even when time doesn't permit to go off touring, there is still beauty and things of interest to see and take in if we only look.

  2. A lot of guys say you have magic hands. That was a whirlwind tour, alright. And when you do have more time I’m sure we could show you some sights in our fair city.

  4. "I got it! I got it!
    I'm gonna be a receptionist
In one of those glass office buildings
Nine to five, I'm gonna have my own typewriter,
And water cooling and office parties...
    Ooooh, and coffee breaks... wow!
Then I sit on my desk on the forty-first floor
In my copy of a copy of a copy of Dior!"

I'll say: honey, what you're waiting?
How would you like to put it down over there?"

    2. This all sounds vaguely familiar to me, but I can't quite place it.

    3. A song Deedles.... from the musical Sweet Charity. There's Gotta be Something Better Than This.

      Now all together now!!!!!

    4. Thank you! This was driving me crazy! I like this song and Big Spender, but I don't care for this particular musical. I don't like the ending :)

    5. "And so she lived … hopefully … ever after".

      What's not to like?!

    6. I dunno, Jon. I'm a bigish pessimist but I do love a happier ending. I think it's also too sixties for me. Groovy, even. I love musicals, but there are just some I can't get into. Moulin Rouge, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (perfect name for a porn flick).

    7. "Strumming my pain with her fingers
Singing my life with her words..."

All of those are among my all-time favourite musical films.

Next you'll be saying you don't like Cabaret [my ultimate #1 film ever] because it's "about a depressing era of history"...

    8. Did someone say porn? Sucky Sucky, Bang Bang. You know, if I'd gone into porn in drag, I would have used the name Bang-Bang Ladesh!

    9. Jon, hon, I love Cabaret! Liza Minelli's voice is awesome! Her ridiculous eyelashes were a major distraction, but her talent is undeniable. I love A Chorus Line, the play not the movie so much. Rent is another favorite. So with these other movies, there was just a vibe about them that didn't connect with me. It is what it is. My youngest sister likes those movies that you do. She is somewhat of a nut.
      Maddie, Bang-Bang Ladesh? Terrific!

  7. You do have magic hands. That's why the store always looed amazing. Others did a good job, but when you did it there was just something to it. I like the pictures. You always managed to see the good in any storm

  8. Now is that a mannequin in the top picture or the Mistress, lying back naked in tired dramatics? I adore those pictures of the mannequins. What a creative way to express your mood, but those pictures are great travel pictures....The rail stations are so regel. Been years since I've been to either one.

  9. Never been to Chicago...but I have always loved the train stations at 30th Street and Union in DC. They are actually beautiful places. I don't know where you get the energy for this travel. I'd be dead.

  10. The two store pictures sure don't look like stores I shop in. Those are crisp and clean. Love the pictures.

  12. A great quick tour. It looks like you at least had good weather for your whirlwind.

  13. Looks like work, looks like fun (what building is the restaurant in, in Chicago?) Always take time to smell the roses along the way. Next time you are passing through Union Station, let me know, I can be there in 15 minutes from the office.

    1. The Signature Room is located on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Building,,,you'd love it and features well-prepared cocktails, and modern American fare.

  14. With your hands - which we KNOW are talented - you could make any guy...er, I mean, place shine.
When I used to travel for work, I always tried to get in a little bit of exploring.

  15. I always seem to be the only one up in here who doesn't like big cities. Balder Half is originally from Chicago. He took me back there in 1976. I hated it. He's from the south side of Chicago, the baddest part of town. I met a few relatives but no one named Leroy Brown. I'll stop :)
I do like the pictures, though.

    1. You could be living as a Chi Town Gal, hanging with Sixpense!!!!!

    2. As Aretha would say, ain't no way! Sixpense sounds like a lot of fun, but that city traumatized me. The extremes in weather would kill this SoCal girl!

    3. Agreed. I would not want that winter. I'd sooner give Bruce Valanch a blow job.

  16. Someone's logging a lot of frequent flyer miles lately. Nice pictures, and it's sad to see Barney's... oh, I just saw an article online where employees in San Francisco and Beverly Hills are going to be laid off soon.
