AND IT BEGINS

Talk about two seasons coming together! This was the front courtyard last Friday after our first snow storm!!! Let's hope no more now till January!!!!

Well everyone, some lovely~ peaceful & calming photos before the calm towards this coming Thanksgiving Day. Is everyone ready for the day? Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday. Just getting together for family and friends, a good meal and drinks with no expectations of gift giving. I can already smell my aunt's dinner. She grew up on Julia Child. Watched her faithfully, has her books, and watched her show when they ran. To say my aunt is a good cook would be an understatement. And she makes everything from scratch, if she can make it, she doesn't buy it. I think she's been my role model when it comes to cooking for myself. But, if I ever had a pet turkey like some of these dames...I think I'd have to give up turkey!  There is other bird after all.

  1. If pic #7 is a turkey, then I think it needs a gobbling! Jx

  6. It's the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Turkey!

Gorgeous colorful fall leaves on white snow!

Looks like you're serving turkey and chicken! I'm guessing that's no hen but a robust cock!

  8. We don't have thanksgiving here but I sure wish we did, after looking at your pics.....
I saw what you snook in when you thought no one was looking!

I love snow if I've nowhere to go but hate doing battle with the white stuff otherwise.
We don't get too much of it here thankfully.
Have a great holiday. I'm off to Brugges tomorrow! 😀

    1. Safe travels! The first snow fall was mostly sleet and snow, not much, but enough to wreck havoc...and was very early for us to have snow.

  9. I love the holidays. Unfortunately it will just be a quiet turkey day at home with my wife and fur babies. But I will be surrounded by the ones I love. Cheers to all and enjoy those around you.

And thanks for sneaking in the extra picture 😜

  10. I'm with you. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday too. Nothing like that mean cooking and the smells. One of my favorite memories from youth. Love the first picture....very colorful.

  14. I love those autumn leaves in the snow! We only had a light dusting of snow here in TN last week - which was enough for me.
    Have a fantastic Thanksgiving!

  15. I saw one turkey - hiding in New Balance blue - that' I'd definitely keep.
It hasn't snowed here in about 7 years. We're due. We're expecting rain on Thanksgiving Day, but it sure feels cold enough for it to snow!

  17. The husband has had a turkey defrosting in the fridge for days! Yesterday he did a dry brine on the bird and today he's started his broth for the gravy. Since I've stopped cooking with love, he's turned into a regular Julia Child! I do love sausage stuffing, sweetpea! ;) xoxo
