Mistress, what a great trip down memory lane. William and I danced to this very song years ago at the Latin Casino!!!! William tried and I of course was almost as good as Cissy. It was a sad day when the Latin Casino closed. We saw there Dean Martin, Richard Pryor, Jerry Lewis, Milton Berle, Lena Horne, Pearl Bailey, Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton, and Joey Bishop.
Uf! I liked him better as Barbara and Bobby (pre-Cissy). Did you know he married Myron Floren's daughter?!? And... definitely too much gin for us both!
He married Myron Floren's daughter!?! Say it isn't so, And just the other day I heard heard Norma Zimmer is called the Champagne Lady....and she doesn't even drink. The nerve.
I unfortunely missed both the in person and the radio versions as I was in New York for the day. First time in years I missed the June concert. I always go into town to hear it, as you know.
Great stuff! this was a Big Hit when we were kids, our folks did easy "twist" dancing to all the big band hits at our ginormous family parties... people just don't know how to have fun anymore.
Cutie, I don't ask questions, I just go with.

ReplyDeleteThose were the days.
I believe my parents used to go there too. My mother said it was quite the swank place. Linen napkins and everything.

ReplyDeleteNice pantyhosed legs!! I do believe I could enjoy a cock-a-tail with this music.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I don't think Bobby's into really watching girls.... but I love the sound of the version.
ReplyDeleteI'd trade this song for 97% of that junk they call music these days...
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy your gin infused posts

ReplyDeleteActually kind of hip for the Welk show.
