What a week!!!! This week Daddy Warbucks was in town , last minute as usual, and had me tied up three nights, so this put yours truly behind, as I had hoped I'd be much further in my holiday shopping. Last night after work I made my mind up, no more putting it off, I've got to get shopping! I stopped in New Hope on my sojourn home to my favorite shop. The staff are always happy to see to coming...so friendly and knowledgeable. And they give plenty of samples and tastings.....
But where to start?
But of course..... in the aisle of old friends....
A bottle of this.
Two of my favorite new gins. add those.
Another favorite of mine. A Philadelphia favorite. And contrary to popular belief, the brewery is NOT in my backyard.
A good stand by.
This gem, Opihr is a new gin out and was the newest to my gin collection. I'll let you know the results if I remember.
I do like my rum once in a while, and this one is simply divine.
For those mind altering, steamy nights with the boys.... is a staple.
One the cold nights, or when I have gentlemen in, what a nice warming beverage for winter nights. It was about this time one of the Neighborhood Bitches ran into me, judging my selection in the cart, and my brogues I'm sure. She said "Absinthe" in a snotty voice. Before moving along, when she wasn't looking, I put a bottle of rot gut vodka in her cart.
And of course, I do like my dry reds in the winter so anything from, of course the Argentinian section is always a pleasant treat.
When I was done 45 minutes later and a tasting or two, I took my four boxes out in the trolley. Sitting in the car, Driver asked how did I do? It then occurred to me, I really need to focus on holiday shopping for actual gifts to give.
Mistress, NOW I know where to go to find holiday cheer!!!! My lands!
ReplyDeleteNO WONDER they love you when you come in!
ReplyDeleteNot just another pretty face!
DeleteThat's one way to get through the holiday season.
ReplyDeleteIts how I keep a constant smile
DeleteNice! I see we have some of the same dear friends. I think we're going to get along just fine!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Toni!!!! Let's all have a cup of cheer to welcome Toni!!!! Yes, I'm very fond of gin.
Delete"...had me tied up three nights, so this put yours truly behind..." - so, you like to be tied up, eh? and heh heh heh, you said "behind".
ReplyDelete"And contrary to popular belief, the brewery is NOT in my backyard." - SURE IT IS! it's hiding behind a bush (heh heh heh, "bush").
"Gifts to give..." I'm sorry, I think I've heard of the concept, but it just seems like too much bother.
ReplyDeleteThat's right! I have people in for drinks and give myself. I've been known to get regifted.
DeleteMy dear, I hoped you were tried and true. I mean I always knew you were a gift, but were you tried and true? Now I know you are.
Delete*****blushes*****
Deletedon't we have a delivery team for this?
ReplyDeleteI see anything Argentinian you like. Like your men?
ReplyDeleteHA HA HA HA HA!!!! "or when I have gentlemen in" Is your place like Belle Watling's?
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the gin collection. What time is happy hour again?
ReplyDeleteIts always happy hour around here.
DeleteI think it would be wonderful to snuggle into your warm and cozy living room for a beverage or two. Your collection is sure to ignite a fair heat in a man's chest, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteThe Kraken rum looks interesting; before I looked closely I thought it said "Sex Creatures" at the top of the label (but I think that's the way of my mind, more than my eyesight).
The kraken rum is out of this world! Your more than welcome to get cozy my friend. Although there may be at least one sex creature.
DeleteYou've managed to capture the entire holiday season in four delectable boxes. No need to do any more shopping.
ReplyDeleteAbsinthe??
I haven't had any since way back in my slumming days with Rimbaud.
(*smile*)
Rimbaud? The poet?? Shall I pour you a glass?
DeleteAbsinthe? Who are you planning to seduce???
ReplyDeleteYou'll have the best lit house on the block.
ReplyDeleteIt usually is.
DeleteI see your just a tad thirsty again. Just how many gins can one enjoy?
ReplyDeleteThis stash should last a couple days.
DeleteSo this would be why your always in a good mood. That liquor shop is very nice looking.
ReplyDeleteI do believe the workers there really do enjoy seeing you come. That is a lot of gin!!!!
ReplyDeleteWith all this, you won't be dried out till spring.
ReplyDeleteThis is why I haven't been to my local BevMo store in ages. That place is dangerous to my wallet.
ReplyDeleteIf the snooty neighborhood bitch did that to me, I'd... I'd... slip a bottle of Thunderbird in their cart just for the shock value.
Your holiday shopping is wayyyyyyy more fun than mine.
ReplyDeleteHA!!!! I have tried the Monkey 47 gin....excellent.
