SCENE THIS WEEKEND...

A nice weekend if not a busy one. All told, a bit of a little of everything this weekend. Friday found me at the Capital Street Duo's for some visiting and cocktails on the lovely balcony which is off my guest quarters when I stay there. It's like a little oasis. They are only about a block from the Capital Building, hence their nickname on this blog, with views of the dome at night. Even their pup Flyer digs the balcony.

Then it was off too early in the AM for clan member Preston's birthday up in NYC. After a nice train ride up, it was off for a birthday cruise and some fun before heading back and getting in late last night.  I got to play New York tourist as we all pitched in and got a cruise for Preton for his birthday and thanks to Captain Todd, he spun us around the harbor and Lady Liberty while we drank and noshed. It's been years since I have been out that way. The weather was overcast but no rain. It was certainly a great time.

Today....nothing.! And it's been nice. 

The morning started out with breakfast out back in the garden and I surmise, the rest of the day, with exception to a rain that rolled in, will be spent outdoors relaxing.

Mind you, I should be making vacation preparations. 

But as Scarlet O'Hara said, "I'll think about that tomorrow. After all... tomorrow is another day."

On me oh my....we've got another melt in your mouth sweet treat this week! And it's already got me addicted. This is a semi sweet, hard confection, but yet, once enjoyed, it warms you up right down the center.

This week in the Candy Shop is another Instagram friend I've become acquainted with , and he is like one of the sweet, gooey, but addictive treats one can't get enough of. I should know.

Michael Miller is a aspiring model and actor from LA, and as one can see likes to work out. But what I like most about him he communicates with his commenters, and who doesn't love a mischivious boy trapped in a grown up hot guys body?!?!?!?!?!? Then there's the glasses and those HUGE sexy thighs!!! Michael has a great sense of humor and is extremely playful. The living in tees and underwear around the house...I have yet to see a down side to my latest crush. Michael's Instagram.

GUILTY PLEASURE...SOUTH FLORDIA EAGLES

Have any of you been watching the South Eagle family on their live cams??? Ever since Lena told of it on her blog, I have been obsessed viewing it everyday, and long periods of time on days off. The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam is a website featuring live streaming webcams trained on a bald eagle nest, which sits 60 feet above the ground. The live streaming website shows the parent eagles, Harriet and M15. This year the two eggs they laid, only one hatched, and the second hatched on December 31. A new year baby.E9 is the baby eaglet, and I can't believe how big he is already. E9 seems to be getting very active already, but he makes me very nervous when he gets close to the nest rails near the edge. I understand though the parents keep a very watchful eye, and the eaglets have a inborn fear of height till they fledge. They are swell parents and I have learned a lot from the site and their online moderators who try to answer every question. They are even now streaming in schools for children to watch. Plus the cans run 24 hours, so they have night vision as well.

The live webcam was set up by the landowner's company, Dick Pritchett Real Estate, to observe the eagles in their natural habitat in hopes of providing an educational and learning experience. And I thank them for this unique experience.

GUILTY PLEASURE-REAL HOUSEWIVES OF MELBOURNE

 

I hate to admit this, but on my last vacation I got swept away with a guilty pleasure, in a marathon of the Real Housewives of Melbourne. This might be a complete shock since I generally loath reality tv. Give me Downton Abbey, Americian Horror Story, the Stain, and Grimm any day. I did watch the Real House Ho's of New Jersey though, since I met a few of them in the store where I work. But the Melbourne group, while still at times ankle biters, seems to be a much more fun group. And I love that every week they were off again to some fun function or locale.

I haven't heard yet if there will be a season , but if Bravo needs to add a gay poodle to join their circle for fun and frolic, I'M SO THERE!!!!! The Lad was quite appauled that I was even watching it, but he did note how similar I was to Chykia, above far right. He said your the peace maker, always in a good mood and always having fun. But on the other hand, your a lot like Gina, second from right. You both can be drag queens, always dressed, even if to go just to the grocery store, and I show up in Maddie time. Which means I show up when I'm good and ready.

 

Gina, the one I remind him of!!!! That may just cost him!!!!! But I must admit, I love a woman who can wear heels to do everything in....including a game of tennis!!!

GUILTY PLEASURE-VICIOUS

With summer here, I watch next to no tv, But come Sunday evening I have to catch Vicious!!!!

 I love myself some British comedy, and anything with this much smart insults in just delicious. Insult humor has never been more elegant than it is in this new half-hour show about longtime gay partners Freddie and Stuart, who communicate mostly through extreme snide remarks aimed at each other's age, looks and flaws. Ian McKellen is at his bombastic best as aging actor Freddie, the more aggressive of the two. The charming Derek Jacobi complements him perfectly as his put-upon companion. “I never know when I'm going too far,” Freddie says with a smirk after delivering an especially harsh zinger, “but I'm always glad when I do.”

Freddie was a budding actor and Stuart worked in a bar when they first met, but their careers are pretty much over and their lives now consist of entertaining their frequent guests, making sure that their aged dog Balthazar is still breathing, and hurling caustic insults at each other.

 Rounding out the cast is the adorable Ash, their hot new neighbor, they were hoping would be gay, but is straight.

Violet Crosby , (who is the best side kick I have seen since Karen Walker), a close friend of Freddie and Stuart, who has designs on Ash, their young, handsome neighbor ,Penelope , a dotty old friend of Freddie and Stuart, who can't remember anything, and their friend Mason ,another elderly friend of Freddie and Stuart, who is often as sharp-tongued as they are. I couldn't tell you the last show I laughed so much too, and the wise cracks are so damn funny. The Lad has already said I remind him of Violet, especially where they were getting ready to go out, and Violet says :" Let me just have one more sip" then proceeds to down the whole cocktail. Stuart then says, 'Would you like to just drink from the bottle dear?" Here's some quick clips of moment from season one so far.....

This week the Candy Shop will be in full swing with a smell of spring in the air, and a good case of you got your chocolate in my peanut butter, no... you got your peanut butter in my chocolate, but in this case you got your Roman in my Kirill, no you got your , well, you get the point..... we wouldn't mind seeing them into each other.....

 

2013, and I suspect 2014 was/will be truly is the year of the Russian models. Kirill Dowidoff turned millions of head when he graced the lenses of popular photographers around the world, and very quickly he was picked up by Es Collection. I can safely say that this may very well be the story as well for this very attractive and very sexy new hunk from Russia, Roman Dawidoff. Both have a very dominating personality. An intimidating stare that's likely to make one shy, but at the same time inviting enough that one will definitely want to appreciate further, just how amazingly sculpted their entire body is. From their shoulders, down to their arms, the perfectly grown triceps and inviting pecs. those eyes.... Add to that a 6-pack to die for and well shaped legs that balance everything off with just the right amount of muscle. And together they are just smouldering. Out of the modeling world they are best friends and have one of the hottest bromances I have ever seen, I'm obsessed with these two, it gets my kitty puuurring, and I very very weak in the kness.... Kirill's Instagram is chalk full of pictures of them........where are my smelling salts.....
