MY MY, MY, what a busy week it was, hence why I was a wee bit scare. So to kill multiple birds with one stone and too answer Mahogany Empress's email, I will serve a demitasse of subjects that I wanted to share, but haven't gotten around to it........
This Week.....
This picture sums it up. Work for me personally has been quite, but my company is preparing for annual inventory which is a pain in my ass. All display items and fashion used through the store and windows must be accounted for. Oh, I was supposed to save the tags???? Oops. so information must be found to generate new tags, and not to mention I go all Fiona Goode on someones ass if they tear a intricate display apart!!! I have also had, have, a terrible head cold, which adds to my impatiences. From the whirlwind of the holiday entertaining, and the extreme cold temps of 2 to 12 degrees lately, and now today being almost 63 degrees, doesn't help. Hot baths, zinc tablets, lots of sleep, and a good old honey infused whiskey at night have all been helping. When the "Firefighter" came over one night for some bedroom sports and I said no.... You know I didn't feel good. I am on the mend now.
Life at the SUGAR SHACK...
well it's been about almost three years since my split with the ex of 12 years, and I'm still enjoying my single life independence. Some friends say I really should settle down for I may break a law or end up single permanently. First off, I never broke any laws, maybe cracked a few, and the thought of being single the rest of my entirety doesn't bother me. But Mahogany Empress wanted to know how my romance has been lately as I have mentioned some new boys lately, so lets let that rip...
The Lad. The Lad and I are still in a , well, huh, lets call it a Bromance I guess. While some would say for all intense and proposes we are a item, we have never made it official. Still. Still friends. Still seeing each other. Still having incredible pillow talk. While he did move to Cincinnati to take a job, we still get together for visits. And talk often.
Prince Charming. You remember him. He also moved, to Boston. We have talked a couple times. He still asks if I want to settle down.
J. The one who NEVER shuts up and was the first to ask to squire me after my split with the ex. We still talk and visit, and he is THANKFULLY partnered. And you may remember , he really did ask to squire me out!!!!
The Professor. He is such a 5'2' cutie I met this summer. Such a little powerhouse with nice body and cute baby face. We date casually and still have a great time together.
The Firefighter. I also met him this summer. He too is actually a biology teacher, but is a volunteer firefighter. After we met he told me he is actually bi. We get along wonderfully, but we are pretty much taking dinner and then hitting the sheets. Or sometimes drinks and hitting the sheets, or just hitting the sheets.
The Stockbroker. We no longer talk, as I think he wanted more.
The Russian. I'm happy to say made it out of Russia and plans no more return trips. We have seen each other a couple times for some linguistics lessons. Yes, that's it, linguistics lessons.
I must say, I have never been more happy with my life.
Blogging...
I'm not one to really follow up much with following stats or time lines, but when the new year rolled over I had noticed I've been blogging for almost 7 years. WHO KNEW? I also noticed several other bloggers have mentioned some stats and found it interesting. So I though I wonder what mine were. Well, at some point, I hit 1,826, 410 site hits!!!! I didn't think I was even near a million. My audience to date has been 1-US,2-UK,3-Canada,
4-Brazil,5-Argentina,6-France,7-Australia,8-Italy,9-Germany,10- Russia. My most top three post have been 1, Over Heard at Brunch, Scary Pumpkins and Alyssa Edwards Dethronement. The top searches have been, Marco Dapper, Mistress's cock, and Sharon Needles. hmmmm. I have featured 60 post on Lady Bunny, 339 drag queens or related, and 279 hunks. That's a lot of Beauty and the Beasts!!!! My first follower was Sing Jaz, and my latest was Stepford Escapee. My sister and good friend Mame, aka David Dust, is the one who inspired me to get started after commenting all the time on his blog. Who knew I would still be at it? Or would even want to hear what I had to say, but I do enjoy sharing visual things with you all, things I do and my part of the world and especially my love of drag queens. After a 15 year run with parties and shows it was time to pass the torch, but this still keeps me involved ti other ways. And after working out, I may now look ridiculous in a dress. And I have even met some of my readers and other bloggers and all have been to kind and fabulous! You all know who you are, and I thank each and everyone for visiting the Casa!!!!
American Horror Story.
I'm convinced now more than ever when I grow up I want to be Fiona Goode or even Myrtle Snow will do....
But I doubt I'd take a melon baller to the eyes of a acquaintance. At least on a good day. This show just get better and better each show, but I hope we haven't seen the last of Queenie or Madame Marie Delphine La Laurie!!!! Kathy Bates has been downright entertaining. And poor Patti Lupone, gone already. I would have liked to seen more of a good vs evil with this storyline though, but one can't have their just desserts. And I swear Myrtle Snow has the damn best lines. Here are some......
Myrtle calming down Cordelia after being shunned by Fiona and having no powers... " Your salad dressing is absolutely magical. If you could bottle it, it would be called Cordelia's Conjured Coriander Condiment. Or you'd like a little get-a-way, maybe as a cruise ship hostess, you have a lovely personality and are always well-groomed"
"The Council reminds you Fiona, no witch has been tried, convicted, and burned at the stake since 1926. And on a personal note I'd like to add, I've got a book of matches in my pocket Fiona, and I'm just *dying* to light this fire"
Nan asks Myrtle how she grew her hair so quickly after being burned.
" Oh, little bird, I've been buying in bulk from North Korea for years!"
"Mothballs and history. It's a cocktail I swoon for"
"Can you imagine those poor Salem witches, traveling all the way down here in covered wagons without a proper charcuterie platter or a bidet? Absolutely savage! "
And what she said to two Coven Council members to exact revenge, before I suppose killing them.
"Call me a Philistine! Enough chit-chat. You've both wanted to eliminate me for years, so you could dominate the Council. But I was never worried you'd be hapless enough to try. Quentin! You're a fatuous fool and a drunk! Pembie, you're even worse. You're weak-willed, boring, and your fashion faux pas give me nightmares."
This show is just tooooooo fabulous and delicious to be missed.
Downton Abbey
Need I say more....it's back and as entertaining as ever. The Dowager has the best lines yet again, and can't wait to see how Mary will be in her new role!!! I would also like to see my favorite guy, the handsome and mischievous Barrows finally get some steamy man on man action. Sunday nights, the world stops, for at least an hour when this is on.
Drag History
This being Drag History Month, I'm going to try to feature some nice post on queens more heavily for the month with some history, sprinkled with some videos and some stunning queens of course!!!
Whew. Got that? Now for a G&T! Tootles!
