CHECKING IN AT THE HOTEL CORTEZ

Are you wetting yourself with anticipation with the premiere of American Horror Story Hotel tomorrow night yet!?!

Well, I'm more than ready to check in for what looks like a very promising season. I was a bit leary of the talented Jessica Lange not coming back, and Gaga is not known for acting chops, but from the trailers coming fast and furious, she actually looks like she may be pretty campy and entertaining. In the last week, much has opened up now on the premises. To me,  I'm getting a campier, more fabulous and twisted Overlook Hotel from the Shining. The plot centers around the enigmatic Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles, California, that catches the eye of an intrepid homicide detective. The Cortez is host to the strange and bizarre, spearheaded by its owner, The Countess, who is a bloodsucking fashionista. This season will feature two murderous threats in the form of The Ten Commandments Killer, a serial offender that justifies his actions in accordance with biblical teachings; and The Addiction Demon, who roams the hotel, armed with a drill bit dildo. THAT should be entertaining! The season will also be interconnected to the first season, and will feature an appearance by the Murder House and its realtor Marcy, played again by the funny Christine Estabrook.
Being a big American Horror Story freak, I panicked and read through the list so fast I thought my eyeballs were going to fall out of my head. Despite some interesting changes, overall, I'm super excited about who they chose to star this season!

Gaga's character, Elizabeth/The Countess, is a fashion icon and owner of the Hotel Cortez. Created as a glamorous socialite character, The Countess maintains her beauty by imbibing human blood.
Wes Bentley, a detective, John Lowe, is investigating a series of brutal murders in Los Angeles, when he receives an enigmatic tip pointing him to the mysterious Hotel Cortez.

Rumors are swirling, though still not confirmed, Michelle Pfeiffer will be portraying one of the hotel's previous owners, Martina McBride! If this is true it would be a really cool change to the cast;Pfeiffer is iconic and a welcome breath of fresh air!

Finn Wittrock, the handsome devil made his debut on AHS as the adorably insane Dandy Mott, and he returns to check in to the hotel, and I'm freaking out. He'll play Tristan Duffy, a male model who will be involved in a love triangle with Gaga and Bomer. YAY!

Max Greenfield Another all new face to the Ryan Murphy crew, Max Greenfield has spent his career mostly playing comedic roles, most notably as New Girl's Schmidt. But we can expect something completely different from his role as an addict in Hotel, as the actor reportedly dropped a ton of weight and switched up his hairstyle to look the part. His story arc intersects with Sarah Paulson's Sally, and Ryan Murphy says that he's at the center of the series' "most disturbing scene" yet. Can't wait for that.

Matt Bomer had a short run in Freakshow, but he's back and starring in Hotel! His description is basically "goody-two-shoes that makes sure no one gets into trouble"...where's the fun in that, Matt?!

Francis Conroy ,my personal favorite woman in the whole world is back for Hotel, and I probably might not have watched it if she wasn't. All I have to say is she's the greatest ever. I mean, Balenciaga great...

Cheyenne Jackson. This man's been nominated for Grammy awards for his performances in musical theater, and it doesn't hurt that he's kind of stunning. His character is a bellboy who "loves to gossip and is seen engaging in strange and suspicious behavior"...uh oh.

Kathy Bates will be running the hotel as Iris, and she's got a major feud with Sarah Paulson's Hypodermic Sally going, as well as something weird happening with her son, Bomer's Donovan. She also does crossword puzzles in her spare time. Dangerous!

Also checking will be of course, Sarah Paulson,Her character Sally will be a permanent resident at the Hotel, and she's got a huge rivalry going with Kathy Bates' Iris, and the reason behind it will reportedly be explained early on. As well, she's a dark relationship forming with Wes Bentley's character. Evan Peters will "be waiting for you in Room 64." If that's anything like Room 237, we're in for a treat.,  and Dennis O Hara as Liz Taylor ,a hotel bar entertainer who is obsessed with the classic actress and assumes that he is her. He works in the Blue Parrot Lounge. Angela Bassett, the sexy Ramona Royale, who is a famous actress who goes over the top but never belittles herself to land a part, despite that often being asked of her. She isn't a hotel resident, but she travels there often, and a lot of it has to do with her romantic relationship with Lady Gaga's Elizabeth. Through out the rest of the season add to that mix the likes of Chloë Sevigny,Lily Rabe portraying seriel killer Aileen Wuornos, Mare Winningham, Darren Criss, Mädchen Amick. Rumors are too also expect Emma Roberts back for a few shows, and Donald Sutherland has been mentioned. But the icing on the cake could be Naomi Campbell.
Her character is set up for a multi-episode arc here, and she'll play a fashion editor whose critiques on certain someones will cause her to pay the ultimate price. She'll be involved closely with Gaga's Elizabeth and Bassett's Ramona. Just watching her get her demise could be worth the whole season. Any bets she'll be beat to death with a cell phone?

MT THOUGHTS ON AHS-FREAKSHOW

OK, so Brody emailed and wanted my thoughts so far on the best show on tv!!!!  As a huge fan of the show, American Horror Story, I have been thoroughly enjoying every minute!!!!!! Pretty much neck and neck with season 3 for me. And loving how as soon as you think you know someone....think again. Everyone seems to have a light and dark side. My Thoughts:

* of course Jessica Lange has been incredible yet again!!!! How twisted was the reveal of how she loss her legs!!!!!!! I  keep reading online people are bothered by the accents her and Kathy Bates are speaking with. With these story lines, who has time to notice accents!?!?!

* by no means am I upset Meep died. He gave me the willies to the point I had a nightmare one night.... he broke in my abode and was scaring the hell out of me. I am glad to see them use real actors with deformities to play the side show though.

* I was torn on Twisty dying so soon. I can  see why he killed some of the town folk, like the toy store owner for being so mean to him, insulting his toys, and how he ended up with the fangled mouth! Yikes! But I wouldn't want to meet up with him in a dark corner. That was one creepy character.

* Speaking of dark corners.....

*I'd like to find one with a bed in it, for me and Dandy to play around on!!!!! Am I the only one who finds Dandy sexy as hell???? I say use and abuse me!!!!! And I have been loving Gloria and her fashions!!!!! And proper etiquette.

* Edward Mordrake? HUBBA HUBBA!!!!

* Can't say I'm sorry to see Dora go. What the hell did she expect after taunting  a crazy sexy boy????

* That said, I am looking forward to Gabourey Sidibe  arriving to see where her mother is. And we know she will take the bull by the horns...........

* Hopefully this week, we'll start to see more Desiree. Angela Basset has been pretty good so far, but I still want to see a whole lot more with where she is going.

American Horror Story: Freak Show is about to get a whole lot handsomer as Matt Bomer’s mysterious character will finally show up this week, and fans of Matt’s pretty face needn’t worry about the actor hiding it behind a creepy mask. Set photos show the actor rocking some really high hair and hanging out in Twisty’s lair and he's probably not there to meet the deceased clown, so this means just one thing — he’s paying Dandy a visit. Ryan Murphy has said this  upcoming show will be the most disturbing and graphic that all the seasons  has seen. I can hardly wait!!!!!!!   However, the most talked about scene of this week’s  might not be the one shared by Andy and Dandy,  but the scene in question will actually feature Andy and Michael Chiklis’ strongman character, Dell Toledo. Bomer described their “seven-page encounter” as having a “demented Tennessee Williams feel.” HMMMMMMMMM. Chiklis’ character has a thing for women with male features, so perhaps he’s actually gay. He had a child with bearded lady Ethel Darling, and he’s currently married to hermaphrodite Desiree Dupree. He’s been having a hard time getting aroused recently, which is making Desiree very unhappy. Perhaps he enlists Bomer’s character to help him get his groove back. We will have to wait and see!!!

And brace yourself , rumors are swirling that Gwyneth Paltrow actually has her sights set on a role on the FX show. If it’s good enough for Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, and Angela Bassett, then it’s good enough for Goop according to her.. Murphy himself has said he's not done casting the fourth season yet, and has talked with her. Well, if she does come on to play a freak, it sure wouldn't be a stretch. Although her best role to date was her head in a box in the movie Seven. Damn, she was good in that.

FREAKS!!!

Am I the only one waiting with baited breath???

Is everyone else getting as excited as I too watch the next installment of American Horror Story!?!!? I am chumping at the bit for the season to start. Set in 1952, it will center on a "troupe of curiosities" that arrives in Juniper Florida at the same time a dark entity arrives, threatening the lives of town folk and freaks alike. I remember seeing years ago a thriller titled Freaks, that scared the living hell out of me, I've been afraid of midgets ever since, so if it's like that, this just may be the scariest season yet. But I'm already loving some of the fashion.....

Kathy Bates as the bearded lady and Jessica Lange as Elsa Mars. I hear Jessica Lange will be a Marlene Dietrich like person with a German accent, and owner of the freak show.

I also can not wait to see how they use the great talents of Francis Conroy. I may need to hold onto my not so haunted teddy bear while watching this side show....or better still, a nice big strong man!!!

A DEMITASSE OF THIS & THAT

MY MY, MY, what a busy week it was, hence why I was a wee bit scare. So to kill multiple birds with one stone and too answer Mahogany Empress's email, I will serve a demitasse of subjects that I wanted to share, but haven't gotten around to it........

This Week.....

This picture sums it up. Work for me personally has been quite, but my company is preparing for annual inventory which is a pain in my ass. All display items and fashion used through the store and windows must be accounted for. Oh, I was supposed to save the tags???? Oops. so information must be found to generate new tags, and not to mention I go all Fiona Goode on someones ass if they tear a intricate display apart!!! I have also had, have, a terrible head cold, which adds to my impatiences. From the whirlwind of the holiday entertaining, and the extreme cold temps of 2 to 12 degrees lately,  and now today being almost 63 degrees, doesn't help. Hot baths, zinc tablets, lots of sleep, and a good old honey infused whiskey at night have all been helping. When the "Firefighter" came over one night for some bedroom sports and I said no.... You know I didn't feel good. I am on the mend now.

Life at the SUGAR SHACK...

well it's been about almost three years since my split with the ex of 12 years, and I'm still enjoying my single life independence. Some friends say I really should settle down for I may break a law or end up single permanently. First off, I never broke any laws, maybe cracked a few, and the thought of being single the rest of my entirety doesn't bother me. But Mahogany Empress wanted to know how my romance has been lately as I have mentioned some new boys lately, so lets let that rip...

The Lad. The Lad and I are still in a , well, huh, lets call it a Bromance I guess. While some would say for all intense and proposes we are a item, we have never made it official. Still. Still friends. Still seeing each other. Still having incredible pillow talk. While he did move to Cincinnati to take a job, we still get together for visits. And talk often.

Prince Charming. You remember him. He also moved, to Boston. We have talked a couple times. He still asks if I want to settle down.

J. The one who NEVER shuts up and was the first to ask to squire me after my split with the ex. We still talk and visit, and he is THANKFULLY partnered. And you may remember , he really did ask to squire me out!!!!

The Professor. He is such a 5'2' cutie I met this summer. Such a little powerhouse with nice body and cute baby face. We date casually and still have a great time together.

The Firefighter. I also met him this summer. He too is actually a biology  teacher, but is a volunteer firefighter. After we met he told me he is actually bi. We get along wonderfully, but we are pretty much taking dinner and then hitting the sheets. Or sometimes drinks and hitting the sheets, or just hitting the sheets.

The Stockbroker. We no longer talk, as I think he wanted more.

The Russian. I'm happy to say made it out of Russia and plans no more return trips. We have seen each other a couple times for some linguistics lessons. Yes, that's it, linguistics lessons.

I must say, I have never been more happy with my life.

Blogging...

I'm not one to really follow up much with following stats or time lines, but when the new year rolled over I had noticed I've been blogging for almost 7 years. WHO KNEW?  I also noticed several other bloggers have mentioned some stats and found it interesting. So I though I wonder what mine were. Well, at some point, I hit 1,826, 410 site hits!!!! I didn't think I was even near a million. My audience to date has been 1-US,2-UK,3-Canada,
4-Brazil,5-Argentina,6-France,7-Australia,8-Italy,9-Germany,10- Russia. My most top three post have been 1, Over Heard at Brunch, Scary Pumpkins and Alyssa Edwards Dethronement. The top searches have been, Marco Dapper, Mistress's cock, and Sharon Needles. hmmmm. I have featured 60 post on Lady Bunny, 339 drag queens or related, and 279 hunks. That's a lot of Beauty and the Beasts!!!! My first follower was Sing Jaz, and my latest was Stepford Escapee. My sister and good friend Mame, aka David Dust, is the one who inspired me to get started after commenting all the time on his blog. Who knew I would still be at it? Or would even want to hear what I had to say, but I do enjoy sharing visual things with you all, things I do and my part of the world and especially my love of drag queens. After a 15 year run with parties and shows it was time to pass the torch, but this still keeps me involved ti other ways. And after working out, I may now look ridiculous in a dress. And I have even met some of my readers and other bloggers and all have been to kind and fabulous! You all know who you are, and I thank each and everyone for visiting the Casa!!!!

American Horror Story.

I'm convinced now more than ever when I grow up I want to be Fiona Goode or even Myrtle Snow will do....

But I doubt I'd take a melon baller to the eyes of a acquaintance.  At least on a good day. This show just get better and better each show, but I hope we haven't seen  the last of Queenie or Madame Marie Delphine La Laurie!!!! Kathy Bates has been downright entertaining. And poor Patti Lupone, gone already. I would have liked to seen more of a good vs evil with this storyline though, but one can't have their just desserts. And I swear Myrtle Snow has the damn best lines. Here are some......

Myrtle calming down Cordelia after being shunned by Fiona and having no powers... " Your salad dressing is absolutely magical. If you could bottle it, it would be called Cordelia's Conjured Coriander Condiment. Or you'd like a little get-a-way, maybe as a cruise ship hostess, you have a lovely personality and are always well-groomed"

"The Council reminds you Fiona, no witch has been tried, convicted, and burned at the stake since 1926. And on a personal note I'd like to add, I've got a book of matches in my pocket Fiona, and I'm just *dying* to light this fire"

Nan asks Myrtle how she grew her hair so quickly after being burned.
" Oh, little bird, I've been buying in bulk from North Korea for years!"

"Mothballs and history. It's a cocktail I swoon for"
"Can you imagine those poor Salem witches, traveling all the way down here in covered wagons without a proper charcuterie platter or a bidet? Absolutely savage! "

And what she said to two Coven Council members to exact revenge, before I suppose killing them.

"Call me a Philistine! Enough chit-chat. You've both wanted to eliminate me for years, so you could dominate the Council. But I was never worried you'd be hapless enough to try. Quentin! You're a fatuous fool and a drunk! Pembie, you're even worse. You're weak-willed, boring, and your fashion faux pas give me nightmares."

This show is just tooooooo fabulous and delicious to be missed.

Downton Abbey

Need I say more....it's back and as entertaining as ever. The Dowager has the best lines yet again, and can't wait to see how Mary will be in her new role!!! I would also like to see my favorite guy, the handsome and mischievous Barrows finally get some steamy man on man action. Sunday nights, the world stops, for at least an hour when this is on.

Drag History

This being Drag History Month, I'm going to try to feature some nice post on queens more heavily for the month with some history, sprinkled with some videos  and some stunning queens of course!!!

Whew. Got that? Now for a G&T! Tootles!

AHS:Coven-Boy Parts

Another fine week with American Horror Story. The second installment of Coven was definitely a calmer one, but that doesn’t stop Ryan Murphy from leaving his indelible mark all over it. This episode further sets up the world of present-day New Orleans. Turns out Madame Marie Delphine La
Laurie isn’t the only immortal one lurking in town. And not everyone who died in last week’s episode will remain dead. After this week, I have made my mind up, if I had to be a woman right now, it would be Fiona Goode!!!!! Some  random thoughts and funny quotes I enjoyed from last night....

The last time Ryan Murphy used alligators was in the Nip/Tuck pilot.

The world needs a moving gif of Jessica Lange slapping Kathy Bates across the face.

“She’s sober.” – Zoe to the investigator, about Madison’s addiction recovery. “Except vodka.” – Madison adds with a smirk.

Fiona answering to Marie Laveau, while getting her hair done, in reply to Laveau's question about how long her salon has been there, ''I think when they say good black don't crack, I think they know what their talking about"

Marie Laveau to Fiona, "You could offer me a unicorn and shit hundred dollar bills, and I'd never offer you anything more than a headache"

“I couldn’t toast a piece of bread with the heat they put on you.” – Fiona chastising Zoe after succumbing to the detective’s questioning.

LaLaurie talking to Fiona about her daughters "I loved all my girls, in my own way.Even the ugly one. The moment she came out of my belly, she was a shame to me, she had the face of a damn hippo, but I loved her anyway"

Fiona talking to LaLaurie about her personality "You've got a mean streak wider than your backside"

After a fertility meeting with Cordelia and her husband,  the doctor says her outlook is bleak. Hank begs her to use magic to conceive. Cordelia relents, and they cast a spell that involves having sex in a ring of fire with snakes crawling around. Anybody else find that and a naked Josh Hamilton hot? Add this to my bucket list.

Is it me,  or is the Fiona Goode, Madame LaLaurie and Maire Laveau  showdown gonna be GOOD!

Patti LuPone joins the cast next week! As does some shitless boy flesh for Madison ...next door!

Americian Horror Story-The Coven....Wholly Smokes

Lately....two shows I wait for with baited breath are American Horror Story and Downton Abbey. The first of the two has started, and what a ride it was. Ryan Murphy started with a huge blow out! Did you watch it? What did you think? So far, it looks like this may be my favorite season yet. What I really enjoy, is that the show brings back many of the same actors, who play different characters each year. It's a testament to these actors to give a winning performance each season playing someone else, and not the same old role. And can Ryan Murghy ever get the talent. The writing is also nice and tight, witty, and even has some good humor to it.

Nice to see  Jessica Lange back for another sure to be, fabulous guilty pleasure to watch. Let's face it, she 's the reason I started watching in the first place.

Kathy Bates. Who knew she could get so dark and morbidly evil? She will be great to watch.

So nice to see someone come to their senses and use this great actress. Angela Basset has been a favorite of mine, and she is going to be quite a bitch to beat in this season. She has got some balls to go up against these witches.

Always a treat when Frances Conroy returns, and has been probably the best chameleon of any of them, looking and playing parts so different. Is it me or does she look like Vivienne Westwood this season?

Gabourey Sidibe is another great acting talent added. Love that she is the human voodoo doll! I think she is going to bring some great humor to the season.

In addition, I think Emma Thompson as Madison Montgomery  is going to be delicious to watch, we will love to hate her..... and later in the season Patti Lupone will be added to play a Piper Laurie "religious type" like in Carrie, and Alexandria Beckenridge will also be returning. And is it me, or is anyone else intrigued by the Bull Man, the Minotaur?

Guilty Pleasure-American Horror Story

I do believe my void, mourning and heartbreak from the cancellation of Ugly Betty has finally left me and I can now switch to wearing purple! My never to miss new show and new guilty pleasure is the arty American Horror Story, which spikes fright formula with kinky sex. The bloody new soap opera American Horror Story respects its genre roots, hitting viewers with a full complement of creaky doors, squeaking stairs and whistling wind. A creepy prologue set in 1978, when dorky red-haired twins get attacked in a dark basement by a bald dwarf, the series zeroes in on the misadventures of an unhappy family that tries for a fresh start by moving into a haunted house............

then things get weird. The series centers on the Harmon family: Ben, Vivien and their daughter Violet, who move from Boston to Los Angeles after Vivien has a miscarriage and Ben has an affair. They move into a restored mansion, unaware that the home is haunted by its former inhabitants, all of whom have been murdered in the house. And the series couldn't be better cast, one of the best castings for a show in a long while.

From Jessica Lange as Constance Langdon, the kleptomaniac neighbor, who plays the part of the southern Gothic, who seems to have a supernatural connection with the house's mysterious, blood-soaked past, to sexy and hunky Dylan McDermott as Dr. Ben Harmon, to the even part time Christine Estabrook as Marcy, the Harmons' real estate agent, who is bat shit crazy and entertaining to watch.

Then there's Moira O'Hara played brilliantly by Frances Conroy and Alexandra Breckenridge, the ancient and seductive housekeeper. And how can one go wrong with the hot hunky dead gay couple always bickering, and one accusing the other of always cheating.

Zachary Quinto as Chad Warwick, owner of the house before the Harmon's and his hot partner Patrick, played by Teddy Sears. And the Mistress won't complain to seeing a very naked Sears run around the house, or grab Dylan McDermott's crotch. And how can you not get the willies by Rubber man. Except when in a struggle with a half naked McDermott? Nope. Not complaining about all the hot naked male flesh!!!!

I think it will be interesting to see just how many people died in the house and what will Vivian deliver when the babies come? The story is very well written and continues to unfold, a breath of fresh air in the land of the boring reality shows that just won't go away!
