HILARITY OF KATHY BURKE

I'm not sure how many Americana are familiar with the very funny, and the hilarity of comedian Kathy Burke. My first experience with her was of course on Absolutely Fabulous, who played Patsy's fast-talking, power lunching, Cockney-accented magazine editor Magda. Here she is as Magda along with two of her other clips from shows, that get me howling with laughter every time.

From Psychobitches....

From Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie...

I know just how Linda La Hughes feels. I had mornings like that the day after some of my South American boys have visited.

  6. LMAO!!!!! She was so funny as Magda on AdFab....but really so funny in everything she does. American sitcoms are not near as funny or smartly done as the Brit comedies.

  11. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme is just so funny. I suppose it wouldn't be politically correct these days.
Kathy Burke is so talented and far underrated.
We could all use a few more laughs! X

    1. I think we should need more Politically Incorrect shows now, but I know people in the US are so uptight they got sticks up their ass.

  12. I adore Kathy Burke - such a brilliant woman! Over here, she's often described as a "national treasure". And yes, "Linda La Hughes" is a fantastic comic creation - we often quote her. Jx

PS She lives just around the corner from where I work in Islington, so she's often seen around. I once bumped into her (and her dogs) in Old Compton Street, shopping in a little electrical and lighting shop that used to be there, opposite the gay pub The Admiral Duncan.

  16. I vaguely remember her from AbFab but those other clips are new to me. The one with the royals is hilarious!

  17. I loved AbFab, and both of these women, back in the day when Bravo was more like a British channel than a reality TV wasteland.
