And if I recall correctly, Chi Chi then gets mad jumps out of the car, and runs away....gollowed by Noxzem saying...."Look at her, like she's running to the border."
I love this movie to pieces! I laugh every time Chris Penn is on screen. I, however, can't figure out why these people can't tell that two of these "women" are men in drag. These people are hicks, not blind. Of course, since Trump was elected, I can now see how they may have been fooled. Patrick Swayze was quite lovely in this bit of stunt casting. John (whose last name I can't spell or pronounce) was perfect. This is one of those movies I watch just to laugh and feel good. "Noxzema Jackson, Jesse's daughter." Ha!
Mitchell, at the time I think the clever reason for using these actors was to let straight people feel comfortable coming to see a movie, featuring action heroes as drag queens. Just like making a gay love story using two cowboys as the main characters. They were working on changing minds. If they did that now it would seem odd.
YASSSSS.
ReplyDeleteVerrrry Interesting!
ReplyDeleteAnd, when a man puts on a dress to be funny - - it's acting! (Though, I did really enjoy it.... :-) ) Hugs!

ReplyDeleteGreat scene, although I wish the casting had included talented REAL drag queens instead of boys in dresses.

ReplyDeleteThe Four Steps to Becoming a Drag Queen (or as I like to call it: The Guide to Living a Fabulous Life!)
1. May good thoughts be your sword and shield.
2. Ignore adversity.
3. Abide by the rules of love.
4. Larger than life is just the right size.
Sorry, J-Lo, but John Leguizamo is the most beautiful Puerto Rican woman in the world!
Easy to see why your a drag queen.....you always look incredible and fashionable whether in or out of drag.....the statement is true.
ReplyDelete"How do I look?"
ReplyDelete"...like the Miami Sound Machine just exploded all over you."
Love, love, love this movie!
