Let's all take a bow and wish the fabulous and lively Carol Elaine Channing... actress, singer, dancer, comedian and most notable for starring in Broadway and film musicals, where her characters typically radiate a fervent expressiveness and an easily identifiable voice.....a very Happy 97th Birthday today!!!!!
On her special day she's here to toast and say.........
:-) Happy day indeed!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, dear Dolly! Many have starred in the role, but it is still hers!
ReplyDeleteOh wow 97! This may sound awful but I didn't know she is still with us. I agree with the comment the role of Dolly is still hers.
ReplyDeleteI love her! I could listen to her talk all day long and just smile.
ReplyDeleteSuch an odd, effervescent lady! That younger picture of her, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice that she's still with us. About a year ago I was watching an old black-and-white Merv Griffin show on a digital channel, and she was the guest. What made this appearance a special treat is that she was still starring in Hello Dolly at the time. In fact, the Broadway theater Merv's show was taped in was right next door to hers. They actually showed her walking from one theater to other. One for the ages.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Carol.
I always loved her voice and ditzy mannerisms. Happy 97th birthday to a legend!
ReplyDeleteI adore her!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's beyond me why they didn't have Carol Channing do the Superbowl half time show.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!!!!!!!!!
Delete97? WOW!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Ms Channing!

Cheers and Best wishes for good health and many more years of good times and delicious raspberries!
So, THAT'S where raspberries came from?!? Happiest day to her. Many happy returns.
ReplyDeleteAnd I always drank the champagne made from grapes. Maybe that’s what I was doing wrong.
