This past weekend really brought about some cooler temps finally, and it feels like fall has arrived...at long last. It won't be long now before yours truly will start to hibernate, but at least not until after the holiday season. The autumn touches have really set in at the Casa. Grab a cock-a-tail and lets peek at some of the latest changes for the season.....
The apothecary jars always seem to be a favorite of yours....
I do believe this cow bird was falling head over heels for Matilda, who has landed this year..... he will be mighty disappointed when he learns she's a fake!
Meanwhile the three stooges were devouring seed......
All the ingredients for my first soup of the season and my personal favorite...cream of cauliflower...
The black cat twins made an appearance this year. Guarding the libations don't you know!
Some of the other seasonal touches around the abode.....
Buster takes a afternoon fall sunning. He will move with the sunbeam also as it goes across the room. He is a sun lover like his Mistress.....
Come nightfall, the place is all aglow with candlelight......
In the boudoir I have since put to bed all the crème flowers and replaced with ....
Just like Hera, the peacock feather is a sign of the Casa du Borghese. I must keep a watchful eye on all of you! On the bedside some lovely sugar cones from the Dame Courtney.
I was even in the spirit of things over the weekend and broke out my orange...yes orange Converse All Stars for the season, along with cashmere sweaters! Let's not discuss the furs vaults yet.
This time of year I always switched back to my warming nightcap du jour....a fine ginger liqueur. It will warm you from head to cockles!!!!
So all are welcome....readers, guest and spooks alike!
There now....are we all lit?
pushing your autumnal basket, how festive!
ReplyDeleteand by looks what a bounty.
Deletewere those sugar cones in your jeans? ;-)
ReplyDeleteand the black cat twins are not good watchcats...the booze disappears faster than a vampire at a mirror around them!
I LOVE the casa's decorator (in a pure and chaste way, of course)...
His junk or sugar cones......either way you get a prick.
DeleteGawgeous, as always!
ReplyDeleteloverly, as always, warm and cozy. :-)
ReplyDeleteA lovely tour as always! I absolutely love the color pallet you use. And the fall is my favorite time of year. I also love the pumpkin on the table, reminds me of my childhood cutie.
ReplyDeleteI said it once, I'll say it again, you have a most welcoming and warm pied de terre my darling. Such nice touches. I have somewhere packed up the same pumpkin decoration that is in your wreath. That has got to be antique! And that soup sounds heavenly......ill be right there.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed! I picked it up on one of my antiquing trips with the Dame.
DeleteWatch where you point the thing!!!!!!! Damn. Nice tour. I remember when I headed east and you put me up one night.....i didn't want to leave I was so comfortable. Now, lets loosen that zipper......
ReplyDeletehow does the zipper not break?
DeleteWell, if those photos don't announce Autumn, then I don't know what does?
ReplyDeleteI love the little squashes and pumpkins!
Thank you for letting us in your home. I always enjoy seeing what your up too!!! Love the sideboard with all the glass vases and candles. Peaceful at night.
ReplyDeleteAnd he appears to always be up......and slightly to the right.
DeleteI can definitely see kicking back a few cocktails with you in your lovely home!!! So cool to see everything, and I want those All Stars!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy, you do go all out in celebration of the seasonal changes. Very lovely. (Also very lovely is that bulge which draws the eye in the picture of the orange sneakers - well, it drew MY eye, anyway! Apparently everything about the Lady Borghese is breathtakingly beautiful!) A weekend with you and the Houseboys would be a perfect delight!
ReplyDeleteMorning, afternoon and evening delight!
DeleteGorgeous decorations, as always. I love the black cat twins, and orange is definitely in for shoes. It's one of those colors that are perfect year round if you do it with the right outfit.
ReplyDeleteAll so lovely!!!!! I need to do a few touches around here. But I have no cute Buster. I love the apothecary jars. Is that a quail in the one bell jar?
ReplyDeleteWhat a place! I too have tried the Domaine de Canton....out of this world. But my eye seemed to get fixated on a large object.
ReplyDeleteYou and your place are such an inspiration! Looks very cozy,, and the pumpkins are great and keep childhood memories alive. And we strongly endorse a nice bulge in nice fitting jean!!!!!! Oh and the sneakers are cool.
ReplyDeleteGreat touches as always! Your place always sparkles.
ReplyDeleteIt was probably spit shined.
DeleteDid you say your shoes are orange?
ReplyDeleteI can't see over the bulge.
Yeah, can we move that thing so we can see the sneakers?
DeleteI love the lattice work pumpkin! Your place is always so cozy! And your looking mighty fine.
ReplyDeleteWow, puts my place to shame. The cowbird is dying to get to Matilda.
ReplyDeleteVery tasteful apartment Mistress!!!! Now when do we get the autumn under show show?
ReplyDeleteOh, I never show my show show!!!
DeleteI see your jars are full of exotic fruits. And the glimpses of your boudoir are quite tantalising. :)
ReplyDeleteahhh... such a cozy spot...
ReplyDeletejust comfortable!
Your place looks fantastically comfy and welcoming! I especially like that side chair in your boudoir. I assume an antique? Love the fall touches too.
ReplyDeleteOh, there is no need to apologize for my wandering eye! It's a VERY welcome sight, you know. So welcome in fact that I was tempted to lift it for my own blogging purposes. Warm hugs!
ReplyDeleteIf you can lift, you can have it!
DeleteWell I see all the chuckling in here is the same. Sharing your pictures of your lovely gourds I see.
ReplyDeleteWell, look who finally showed up out of the peanut gallery.
DeleteThank you everybody for your kind comments!!! And for stopping by!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour holiday touches always inspire to do a few touches myself. Makes the season more fun.
ReplyDeleteLovely and beautiful as always. You have great taste Mistress! And , of course, Buster is too cute!
