Now....for Your Fashion Consideration......

oh, the suits, the peplums, the hats and gloves, the heels, the 1940's style... we love to see it all at the Casa du Borghese...........

oh... and how we miss John Galliano. It has been alas, a famine of fashion.

    1. We do try our best, Prinny, you, me and the Mistress - yet somehow I suspect none of us would look quite so good in a wasp waist... Jx

    2. "I suspect none of us would look quite so good in a wasp waist..." at least not without a girdle.

  5. This was Miss John's best show. It had the best girls...such as Yasmeen. And, you could actually wear the clothes. Total class but beyond Sexy. Ava Gardner, Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow. Where is the style these days.

  6. You and me both, pal. His fall from grace was sadly justified, but I dearly hope he'll rise again. Honestly, after Lacroix closed his atelier, McQueen's suicide and Galliano's implosion it's been the rare show that's made me sit up and take notice.

    1. From Grace herself-"I love John, I think he's brilliant," she said. "He certainly intends to come back - when he's ready. I hope he will return, but I don't know. That's a tough one to get over. That's tougher than the Gucci people thinking they want a change of face." I don't like what he said, but lets face it...he could design and put on a hell of a show.

  8. As a Jew, I don't believe that he deserved any criminal charges; I believe in freedom of speech, but he shouldn't have been surprised that he lost his job. Most companies would let him go after that kind of tirade. I personally love Galliano. He and McQueen were two of the last greats.

  9. Such style and talent. What do we have now? Project Runway graduates? I think not. Have you seen Michael Kors collection? What a snooze of a designer. So few fashion greats left. This show sent chills.

    1. I wouldn't know as I gave up on PR after Christain Siriano won. And I would agree with you on Kors. So boring. Many others could be here in place.

    1. A peplum Debs is the material you see or the short full flounce or an extension of a garment below the waist, covering the hips. You can see it in the video here on the jackets and dresses where it looks like a short skirt attached to a bodice or jacket. A huge look of the 1940's suits and jackets. I adore them.

  12. Bottom line no designer can do what Galliano does or put on a show like his these days.

  13. It looks as if it's another Saturday night at the Casa...complete with car in the living quarters. I also might add you and Galliano should have been wed. Now there;s a pairing
