GUMMI BEARS AND C WORDS

Pack your bags, leave your worries behind, and get ready for a glamping adventure in the great outdoors. Who ever thought this high maintenance queen would love it? In recent years, glamping has emerged that combines the chic and luxury living with the serenity of nature. Gone are the days of roughing it in basic tents; welcome to a world where lavish accommodations of luxury tents temples, airstreams, cabins, park model bungalows and beautiful campers, nicer than some homes I've seen. Our site where we stay above, on my good friend Winfred's site. The back structure is a cabin with indoor kitchen, duel slushie machine, and a small sitting area. The main lani as you can see is far from folding chairs! Off to the right is the tail end of the camper I stay in, with my little firepit area. Hey, I like a real campfire and can build and light one. Not in the picture is the huge camper Winfred and Trevor stay in, directly across from mine. Everything is so pretty and refreshing, so I snapped this picture above, and then saw this!!!!!

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH HELLLLLLL NO!!!!! This is Trevor who is my good friend Winfred's hubby and who we call my nephew. He is the one who fills your Mistress's dance card up with men and events. But CROCS!!!!!! WHAT! WHAT! WHAT!!!!!!! You best be ASSURED we had a huge conversation after I came to from passing out and inhaling my smelling salts and had a gin, with bromide. Thanks heavens there was a fainting chaise handy. I told him to put those things in my firewood pile, and I never want to see them again. EVER upon his feet. THE NERVE! Thanks heavens later at the Gummi Bear Party, these two, made that unfortunate scene fade from my mine. Did they ever make it fade from my mind.

I still reek of gummi bear scent. I didn't know if they were dancing with me or taking inventory. And then there was this cock.....

I'm a size queen and love a front-end loader, but this is ridiculous

CAPTIVATING PEACOCKS

As you know, like Hera, Queen of the Gods, I love me some Peacocks, probably my favorite species of bird. If I had more room outdoors, I'd sooooo have three or four of them! I'm crazy like that... and every gift I give has a peacock feather attached!

So I just had to share these captivating fake-fingernails peacocks created by artist Laurel Roth. Her work has been shown in India, London, New York, Chicago and San Francisco. She also uses uses fake finger nails, nail polish, barrettes and false eyelashes to create her original “sculptures”....AMAZING....

These peacocks borrow human mating plumage, anthropomorphically showcasing our adaptations and natural orders as their own. They are made of fake fingernails, barrettes, nail polish, false eyelashes, and jewelry to represent the choices involved in biological processes that are unique to humankind. For as many times as I did drag , I could have made two of these myself!
Quite amazing , no?

A Magicial Garden

So Sunday, I found myself left to my own devices, never a good thing, and with nothing to do, I headed to a spot in New Hope I pass on my way home from work. The Antique Market at Chestnut Grove. I have noticed it for years and was noisy enough to check it out and what a great time I had. One thing about Buck's County here is the number of antique shops on the main roads and in the back by-ways and small stone roads if you have the time and patience's to drive around. Even in downtown Philadelphia there is the expensive Antiques Row. So if you love a antiquer's market, you have come to the right place. I loved the barn at the place today...  the main building above is a converted barn, very huge, and by the looks of things,  some pirates with good taste stashed their wears in here....what a treasure trove of interior items! And I loved the policy of the barn door......only in New Hope......

Edmondo Crim, Proprietor and Antique Merchant, is the handsome force behind this magical place, is an international art and antique dealer for over 35 years, travels throughout the world, mostly in Europe, in search of highly collectible, museum quality antiques and fine art. His goal is to provide the best quality, value and selection to his customers. He exhibits at well known international antique fairs as well.  His magnificent collection of 19th through 20th century antiques and fine art are showcased and are for sale at his main location in in here Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and four other East Coast galleries. I assumed most of the clientele are people with huge estates.  But I have to admit it was like walking around like in a secret garden. The only thing needed was a chic Victorian
 era   ensemble.

This would look fabulous at the Casa......

A face off........

The icing on the cake for me though was the discovery of peacocks roaming freely! If you now me, you'll know I love me some peacock! If a had a huge estate, I'd say to codfanglers with the screeching and squawking, and have about 5-8 male peacocks running freely!!! And a plus was the pea chicks have been born and hoooooooow cute! Just the name pea chicks sounds adorable , no? I didn't know the male peacocks took 5-6 years to get that stunning tail to the color and length..

It was a nice and interesting afternoon. About the only thing I didn't see was a unicorn. Tootles!

Monday Moments

Here we are on Monday again,  but for some reason Mondays are more torable that Spring is here , now that Peresphone has returned from Hades, back to earth to be with her Mother Demeter. This is one of my favorite Greek stories. It's easier to get up with sun light, the smell of dew, and birds chripping! So glad the warmer temps are here and things are reborn again! Happy Monday everybody!

An Unusual Lunch...With Peacocks

It seems the Mistress is always doing or interested in something odd and out of the ordinary. So today one of my co-workers took the Mistress up the road to a peacock farm and preserve for lunch. It is set in a park like setting and is filled with peacocks everywhere. Since we get a hour for lunch, I thought what the heck. The Mistress's favorite animal is the peacock. I have always loved them. And it's not because it has cock in it's name or because it's a bird, both of which I like! I just think they are so beautiful, graceful and neat to watch. And peacock feathers are a symbol of Hera in Greek mythology another of my favorite interests. The Mistress always garnishes a gift with a peacock feather when giving a gift! It has become my trademark. And someday, the Mistress plans on having a peacock as a pet! My co-worker who I went with has a friend who showed us around and gave us some facts I can say I never knew. Females are known as peahens and are not as colorful as the males, which are known as peacocks. Peacocks are part of the pheasant family of birds and usually have a life span of about 15 years in the wild and longer in captivity. They live in the open forest, bushland and even in the rain forests. I have seen some wild peacocks around New Hope on many occasions when going to work and had no idea they could love in these parts, but the lady at the preserve said they can, so long as their is plenty of insects, and vegetation. The other thing I learned today is the the females hang together in what they call a party. When mating begins, the males gather a harem of female peahens, who lay between 3 to 10 eggs. And lastly I learned they are quiet testy fowl and don't mix well with other domestic birds. There is nothing worst than a uncooperative cock, so I guess when I get one, I have to work with it and tame it! So quite an unusual lunch, but a enjoyable one, despite the damn humidity!
