ALYSSA

One of the hottest commodities of Drag Queens, and dare say royality in the drag world. Alyssa Edwards is an entertaining drag queen, a choreographer and owner of her own dance studio, television personality and spokesmodel for several brands. Alyssa was chosen to be one of 14 drag queens to be on the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, where to the rest of the country, she rose and catapulted to fame for his style, humor, candid testimonials, outrageous tongue-pops and quirky personality. But if you are a drag queen and on the drag circuit, she was very well-known and legendary for her extraordinary, flawless drag style, her high NRG dance routines and her days as an excellent pageant queen winning and taking many titles. Long before Drag Race. Not to mention her infamous feud with Coco Montrese. I recall them being together at a show once as the guest queens, and the tension was thick girls!!! Since those days though, Alyssa has softened, and has since gone to great heights...Drag Race really helped her tone her style and brand. Not many drag queens that are this pretty, are also smart and a complete package. Even though she didn't win a season, Alyssa is easily one of the top four most successful queens to come off the show, and is ranked as one of the top three fan favorites. I adore her style and looks, but it's her humor and her Texian draw that make me laugh. Alyssa has also helped launch her own drag house, which also gave Shangela, Laganja Estranja, Gia Gunn and Vivenne Pinay a place at the drag table too. It's definitely been an evolution of Alyssa Edwards that's for sure. I think she will have a long career in the drag world...but don't expect her to get cute...she only does drop dead gorgeous darling!!!

HAPPY FOURTH 🎉

For those of us in the US today, it's to be a four day national holiday.
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!

My lovely fourth flags are full salute!

Daddy Warbucks got in town and we will be heading to a fourth of July picnic with friends here in New Hope, then swing by the Raven Resort to catch some of the Splash Pool Show. Warbucks asked if I had gotten any fireworks to commemorate the holiday...I'm like...
What are all my lambchops up to today? However you celebrate I hope your getting out to enjoy the weather, some nice cold Pimm's libations, with delish food, or just plain old relaxing. But before that that how about shaking dat ass to one of my favorite club ditties!!!!

And it you are fire off fireworks, I hope your shooting them off in the traditional manner.

THE SUPREME

I have always adored Alyssa Edwards...and she may be heading toward the most successful queen yet from RuPaul's Drag Race. Alyssa Edwards and Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics  present “Supreme” — a music video to accompany the launch of the new palette collaboration. Drag queen Alyssa channels countless beauty personas: Marilyn Monroe-esque glamour, raver in a neon pink long wig, pageant queen, and more, to this very catchy ditty. And I dying for those wigs.

GINGER MINJ BRINGs THE HOUSE DOWN

Like a pack of Skittles, and the colors of the gay flag, half of the Drag Race All Stars Season 2 line-up appeared on stage at the end of June at the Trailblazers Awards for Logo. Clad in varying, but monochromatic colors of the rainbow, Ginger Minj in scarlet red, led the pack and beautifully sung I might add, I Am What I Am. I said on her season she should have won!!! Backing her up in case you don't recognize the other queens is – Phi Phi O’Hara in green, Tatianna in purple, Alaska Thunderfuck in blue, and Alyssa Edwards in yellow – Ginger sang and headed the number in tribute to the legendary and entertaining great, Harvey Fierstein. I've been meaning to post this for some time!

LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU....THE HAUS OF EDWARDS

They don't get cute, they get drop dead gorgeous!!!
The Haus of Edwards is doing well and may be touring to you soon! Experience an unforgettable night of dancing and death drops with Shangela, Alyssa Edwards and Laganja Estranja! Three queens in my opinion that should have went further on Drag Race, but have since been taking off with unforgettable shows. If they had danced like this on the show....my oh my!!! The other girls would have been in trouble. And these three can MOVE IT!!!  I give Alyssa a lot of credit for ignoring bad press and the past and becoming a fabulous and entertaining queen, and creating this drag troupe of hers... the drag family "the Haus of Edwards" and serves as drag mother to fellow RuPaul's Drag Race contestants Shangela Laquifa Wadley, Laganja Estranja, and the newest member Gia Gunn. If you don't get to drag shows much....take a gander at this performance from the Drag Race audience warm up this year before the finale.......

I'm here to tell you...it aint easy swinging hair like that and keeping it on!!!! When doing drag, I was always loving the dancing like this. But never did the death drop...high kicks were my trademark.
Go on gurls.....werk it but don't wreck it!!!!

RUPAUL'S ALL STAR CATFIGHT

There is only one thing worst than two phenomenal queens at a show together. Try ten! Big hair, big nails, big personalities!!! I just hope they are using their Jungle Red nail lacquer. Ru outdid herself for the selection this time.So who’s going to lip-sync for their life this time around? The season is heavy with season 5 queens, a good season in my opinion, — including the reunion of the tart-tongued clique RoLaskaTox (Roxxxy Andrews, Alaska Thunderfuck, and Detox) — as well as longtime rivals Alyssa Edwards and Coco Montrese. Viewers will also get a healthy dose of laughs from season 7 comedy queens Ginger Minj and Katya, and season 6 runner-up Adore Delano will return as well. Finally, standouts from earlier seasons Phi Phi O’Hara,  and Tatianna, will also take to the Drag Race stage. Most of these queens have always been top notch, but have fine tuned their style since their seasons, and sharpened those claws. I myself will be happy who ever wins, but I have to root for my girls Alaska, Roxxxy and Ginger Minj. It's about time a big girl wins damn it. I'm starting to think Ru has something against big boned gals! But Alysaa has grown on me a ton!

Phi Phi O'Hara

Alyssa Edwards

Ginger Minj

Roxxxy Andrews

Detox Icunt

Tatianna

Adora Delano

Coco Montrese

Who are you feeling or rooting for on the All Stars??? The only thing better would be if RuPaul ever took all the winners sometime and did a season. Could you even imagine that show?????

GRANDE DAME

 Alyssa Edwards.
Alyssa Edwards has become my number 2 search topic on my blog, averaging about 200 hits a day!!!!! So I figure you good people out there want to know the T about her. Well......  He choose his name in homage to Alyssa Milano,  and to his drag mother Laken Edwards.Alyssa is part of the drag family "the House of Edwards" and help launched drag queens, Shangela and Laganja Estranja. Alyssa appeared in the 2008 documentary Pageant,  which focused on the 34th Miss Gay America pageant of 2006.On December 9, 2010, Alyssa was stripped of his 2010 Miss Gay America title for having business dealings in conflict with obligations to the Miss Gay America organization. First alternate Coco Montrese replaced Alyssa as the winner of Miss Gay America.  In November 2012,  Alyssa was among 14 drag queens who would be competing on the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. Also performing on the show was pageant friend and rival Coco Montrese. Alyssa was eliminated in episode 9, following a lip sync against Coco Montrese, and finished in 6th place. World of Wonder, the production company behind "RuPaul's Drag Race," has prepared a sizzle reel, "Beyond Belief," for a potential reality series for Logo, centered on Edwards's/Johnson's Mesquite, Texas-based business, Beyond Belief Dance Company. But fear not Alyssa has gone on to her own internet based show, Alyssa Edward's Secret. I had the privilege to see her perform this summer, and I must admit...bitch is good!!!! And there is no denying her incredible beauty.

If your in New York City on Oct 8 you can check out the Haus of Edwards......

Drag Queen's World

Friday night found me at the Raven Resort with the Professor to meet for  some libations, and on the video screens were all the videos playing to the dance ditty playing. When Cher's new video for Woman's World came out it was filled with a cadre of everyday women, but then Cher decided to do a all drag version that came out the end of last month, and I caught it. Have you seen it?

Any drag queen worth her Louboutins gives praise daily for the one and only Cher, I know she on my cross of wood hanging.... so it’s only fitting that some of our favorite queens are appearing in a very special video for the Dark Lady’s latest hit, “Woman’s World.” The girls have been hard at work making the fantastic new video—each will embody one of Cher’s immortal incarnations—

Shangela

 Willam

Manila Luzon

 Alyssa Edwards

and of course, you can't miss...

Chad Michaels

Take a gander, what a fun video. What do you think of this drag-tastic tribute?

The "T" with Alyssa Edwards

Even a loss won't hold back Alyssa Edwards..... she is moving forward with her own show on Bravo. Yes you read that right!!! Justin Dewayne Lee Johnson, the man behind the drag queen with those hypnotizing jewel-tone eyes and now-infamous “back rolls,” has been tapped by Drag Race production company World of Wonder,  to develop and star in a spin-off show of his own. So what's the "T" with this new show....Alyssa spills the beans on how this all came about with Queerty......"World of Wonder came to me. They knew I run this dance school , Beyond Belief Dance Co., in Mesquite, Tex., and that’s what attracted them. Anything in Texas with children, and mothers, and competition, it’s insane. Dance Moms are cute. They’re talented competition dancers. But my group is very commercialized. We take little girls and cut their hair off and dye it when they are 7 or 8 years old. My girls are like young Beyoncés and Gagas. It’s no joke. " This sounds like it might be interesting. I have seen Dance Moms and sometimes those kids and mothers can walk all over Abbey Lee, but trust me dear ones. don't trifle with a drag queen!!!!! Alyssa assures us it won't be the same as Dance Moms.

And speaking of competitions and  Alyssa not winning, in her interview this is what she said why she lost and who should have won.

"Well me, of course. Now I was very pleased with Jinkx   winning, and let me tell you why. At the beginning I didn’t see it coming a mile away — the bitch was nodding off the first day, before I knew she is narcoleptic, and I was like “Oh she is going home, she can’t stay awake!” But that whore is talented. She has so many different facets. It sucks that it wasn’t me, but I just kept falling short in the challenges. I second guessed myself. I just kept failing, one two three four five times in a row, and I was ready to jump out of a car going a hundred miles an hour. I gave up. When I left, it was my time to go."  Well, whether she won or loss one thing is for sure....you can't keep a good bitch down! Much luck with the show Alyssa!

Makes me wonder next if a new reality show will follow the daily lives of Sharon and Alaska? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.......

RuPauls DragRace 5....Bring her The Girls!

What better way to start the week than with a bunch on queens? RuPauls fifth season of Drag Race is around the corner, and I for one can't wait for a regular season, after the All-Stars, which I gave up on, due to the team challenge, which I feel impeded some of the talent on the show, like Nina and Lattrice, but I'm not bitter. No, the fifth season is full of yet some real talents and personalities which have been featured right here, so you may recognize a few.

Alaska Thunderfuck, Pittsburgh

Sharon Needles’ concubine, Alaska will be the first queen whose full name can’t be said on television. I have seen her perform and met her once, and she is about as fierce as Sharon was, but with her own look and style. She will be a top contender.

Alyssa Edwards, Mesquite, TX.
In 2010 this beauty, Alyssa was forced her to give up her Miss Gay America pageant title, quite the scandal in the drag world. You think that’s gonna come up during Untucked? Hint? My sources say Yes!

Coco Montrese, Las Vegas

So Coco was the runner-up at the Miss Gay America contest, and snatched the crown when Aylssa Edwards was axed. Expect some sparks between these two Southern belles. Coco is a pretty talented queen and appears regularly at Vegas' Drink and Drag Diner.

Detox Icunt, Los Angeles
Another queen whose name will have to be bleeped out! You might remember Detox from “Chow Down,” the parody video Willam Belli made about Chick-fil-A, but she’s also appeared in a Rihanna video and recorded music with Ke$ha. So she’ll be a shoo-in at Lipsynch for Your Life. (May she never have to prove it.) And she is very hilarious, and is another of my top contenders.

Honey Mahogany, San Francisco
According to her profile, San Francisco’s first Drag Queen contestant hails from Ethiopia and took her stage name from two different shades of foundation. All I know is, with a name like Honey Mahogany, if she doesn’t do Pam Grier for The Snatch Game, it is ovah!

Ivy Winters, New York City
She’s made outfits for Manila Luzon and Lady Bunny, so you know this is one bitch who knows how to sew. She’s also a professional fire-eater, which  could add to her shade-throwing, an interesting twist. Another performer I have seen, with some unusual talents.

Jade Jolie, Gainesville, FL
Generally I'd say nothing good comes out of Florida, but Jade is one of the prettier queens we’ve seen on the show I must say. Getting a Dida Ritz vibe—but, y’know, white. I'm not sure how far yet she'll go.

Jinkx Monsoon, Seattle
I'm getting a Tammie Brown vibe from this self-described Jewish narcoleptic queen from Seattle. Which means we’ll totally worship her and she’ll get sent home too quickly.

Lineysha Sparx San Juan, PR
Like the Mistress, this Puerto Rican never wears the same outfit twice. Do we dare hope for some Team Yarlexis magic? I love her wig talents, may I add. Another of my contenders.

Monica Beverly Hillz, Owensboro, KY
Her classy name aside, Monica actually hails from small town Kentucky. Is she going to be able to hold her own against them big-city queens?

Penny Tration, Cincinnati
A funny drag handle can sometimes wear thin, but it didn’t hurt Sharon Needles. We also like that Penny’s not a twig—real girls have curves!

Roxxxy Andrews, Orlando
In my email from Logo, they say in this queens profile, it calls Roxxxy “a pageant girl through and through.” Will that help or hinder her in the challenges, which are usually more out-there than donning a swimsuit and high heels. And might I add is very cute as a boy!

Serena ChaCha, Tallahassee, FL
Serena is this season’s baby, right out of art school. I hope that doesn’t mean she’ll be wearing a diaper and throwing tantrums. Actually…

Vivienne Pinay, New York City
Girlfriend hails from New York but we first saw her in a Vogue Italia piece showing queens in half-drag. Does she have what it takes? RuPaul always said Filipinas make the fiercest queens.

Who will you put your chips on —and who will sashay away?
