FOOTPRINTS ON OUR HEARTS

The Mistress is so exhausted tonight from work, I got nothing. But I'll say this, it's nice to come home to a good companion. Many of us in this close knit blog community have little loved fur ones running about. After years of having dogs and one cat, it never tires to see and hear your pet coming running to greet you. Even though my ex and I split custody of Buster, he's the lucky one to be a country and city mouse. It's very strange when he's not here. But with our schedules, when we each have him it works out great.  Once home tonight, on a damp, rainy and chilly late afternoon and feeling haggard, Buster Bolfig and I took a nice, rare, treat...a nap in the week. It was heavenly.
Look at that face. What I find interesting is that, even sleeping, his ears are up...I surmise this is his way of being alert and keeping a watchful eye and ear. Right by side. And no matter what you look like, age, sex, body type, orientation, or any other stats, they love us unconditionly and all they want in return is to be loved. When I go to work, he will look out the window till Im in my car, and out of sight. I know, because once I stopped at the entrance to the complex and I saw him leap down from the window. I always find that cute.
And of course the cute looks....Buster knows if he puts it on thick, Ill give him a treat.
He apparently like bears.
I have this feeling the remaining hours of the evening will entail lots of cuddling.

  3. A dog is not almost-human, and I know of no greater insult to the canine race than to describe it as such. What a touching post. He is a cutie for sure.

  4. I love Buster!!!!! Great pictures. I don't know what I'd do with my Wally. Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a on a glorious afternoon at home or in a park, doing nothing was is boring--it is peace.

  9. They do indeed leave footprints on our hearts .....and noseprints on the Windows and muddy laws on the sofa but I wouldn't be without my lottie. She is a cavalier spaniel crossed with a Jack Russell. She is so clever and loving. She loves everyone too. So very trusting.
Buster is a very handsome chap as I've said before. I'm sure be loves both his homes. It's not about the place, it's about who's there.

Hope you're feeling less tired. X

  10. I discovered yesterday that I need a bigger couch. After dinner I go to sit down and the two beagles were stretched from one end of the couch to the other. But when I am able to squeeze in there, there’s nothing better to have them cuddle up beside you on a chilly evening.

  13. Buster's a full-fledged sweetie! I have to ask my two little ones, what do they sit on when I'm not home. I seem to be the preferred cushion, or waterbed, of choice.

  19. Is there anything cuter than a sleeping dog, comfortable with their owner? I love my pooches. Those pictures are priceless.

  20. Buster is a sweetie, and I feel the same way when I lie down and nap. If I'm on the sofa, Terri is by my side. If I'm on the bed, Torrie gets her half.
