SUNDAY SERMON
The only thing to make a ABBA,( which I'm a huge HUGE fan of) song better is when the Queen, Cher sings a cover. It's time to have some church to this ditty! And Cher has a whole album coming of ABBA songs. And what a relevant video.....
This video is completely inspired by ABBA's videos. The direction and cinematography are so good. It's so fashionable! Cher did good, and I love that she wasn't it, much more powerful.
That's actually a good cover, she still can sing, I like the video. Cher is coming to Ottawa, I'm just not gay enough to go see her. Oops, am I in trouble again?
I too love ABBA. And what a better group to put a good message to.I couldn't control my tears when I noticed this video is about women standing for each other. Cher is not physically in it, but she's the voice giving strength to all these women. This is so Cher.
What a great message for woman but all to embrace each other and support one another. Nice to see Betty Who, Trace Lysette and Rumor Willis. Yes, for an old lady, I'm up on things. Name calling and abuse has got to stop.
Hell even I got teary eyed, but happy tears and I'm a man. Cher's absence (and its marvelous ABBA inspired direction) directs the focus to others, particularly women. Applause to the creative/tech team and actors involved in this piece. I'm now in a good mood.
I was skeptical, not because she's not a great vocalist--she is--but her style's a bit different from ABBA, but she really pulled that off! I should have known she could do it.
Debs, Cher has commented she's didn't want the video's focus on her , but the ole to ABBA and the message. She wanted the ladies to have the spotlight. Quite refreshing, since so many other artist would have hogged the spotlight.

ReplyDeleteCher does it again! What a great homage to ABBA!
ReplyDeleteLove it! It's modern, unique and you can definitely see the ABBA influences. Well done Cher

ReplyDeleteWell, your gay mister, and as much as I love Cher, with concert tickets you'd have to then sell the farm then. I don't blame you.
DeleteWow. It never dawned on me but of course this is perfect music for Cher. Can’t wait to see the movie and hear the entire album!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to share this one...thanks for posting it! Perfect Sunday music, BTW :)
ReplyDeleteFeel free, it has got me in a happy mood!!!
DeleteAn ABBA song always put me into a good happy mood.

ReplyDeleteCher and ABBA -- what a great combo! It's a bit disconcerting though that she's not even in that video except for her voice.
ReplyDeleteDebs, Cher has commented she's didn't want the video's focus on her , but the ole to ABBA and the message. She wanted the ladies to have the spotlight. Quite refreshing, since so many other artist would have hogged the spotlight.
DeleteI suppose I can tolerate ABBA's music if it is sung by anyone who is not Pierce Brosnan or ABBA.
ReplyDeleteShe is something! Loved this cover. Not often covers are done to well.
ReplyDeleteCher is iconic. The voice is unmistakable. I may buy this!
ReplyDeleteSublime. The whole album's going to be a cracker - sure to be.
ReplyDeleteStill making great music. Cher is fantastic!
