You know, I used to love Saturdays the best. First day to sleep in from a busy week. But anymore Sundays are becoming my favorite mornings. I try and get all my household chores done after work during the week, so I can have my weekends to myself for pleasure. Saturdays mornings are usually trips to the farmers market, and the liquor shop, if I already don't have plans. But I have to say, today was a huge day of leisure, sleeping in late, watching movies and it begun with a big breakfast.....
and watching my usual suspects at the window, something I haven't had time to do in a while. It brightened a grey day out.
tons of doves!!!!!
A new guest showed up ...a hawk. I have never seen one so close to the windows before. Of course the others made tracks when he showed up.
I also now know winter is coming as today was the first day I have seen the Junco's back. Yesterday I also caught glimpse of the fox near the woods edge, which is rare to see during the morning hours. Neighbors of mine say they are out every night.
Just about half an hour ago I captured this out the window....what a perfect end with the sun coming out, turning to sunset. And off to the right one can see Bonnie and Clyde plus one roosting.
Looks like a good morning to me. What lovely pictures. I think Chickadees are such sweet birds, like little clowns. And Nuthatches make the funniest sounds. They all best watch out with the hawk and fox around. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteLovely post. It amazes me how close you can get to your windows. They sure do know where their bread is buttered. I also love your vase of fall finery with feathers. Fun!
ReplyDeleteI'mma come to your house next sunday for breakfast! please have cold mimosas ready, along with a speedo-clad houseboy or two!
ReplyDeleteloves the pictures! we plugged in our bird water dish as we are getting
ReplyDeletebelow freezing temps now.
Its nice to see birds other than the houseboys birds for a change.
ReplyDeleteI love when you do these birdie post! I think the titmouse is my favorite. Being in DC I never get to see fox, so that is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteWhat a variety of birds! Our Junco's too have returned. Love the Downey Woodpecker, and I would swear I can see steam coming off the breakfast.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! How cool to see some fox!?! AND LOVE your new header, lol.
ReplyDeleteYour a regular Tippi Hedren I say. Lovely shots.
ReplyDeletewith some marlon perkins thrown in.
DeleteI wish I could see birds like that outside my window. I think the ones where I live have migrated south for the winter already.
ReplyDeleteThat's the way to spend a lazy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLove the wildlife ... both outside the Casa and inside the Casa!
Gotta say I love the photos. :) And, my favorite day of the week is Saturday too... Well, now it's all mine. Heheh!
ReplyDeleteDear, is that arrangement or your head piece for dinner in the first picture?
ReplyDeleteAt least ONE day per week needs to be set aside for leisurely things as you describe...adding perhaps some mindless teasing of one's favorite plaything.
ReplyDeleteThat breakfast looks scrumptious. Any time you'd care to take care of me with such a treat...well, there is an extra room!
Who needs a bird arboretum with your place. So much fun!
ReplyDeleteYikes...won't the hawk eat the littler birds!?! Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThose fox are damn cool to see. How close have you ever gotten? Great picture btw!
