"M" is for the million things she gave us,
"O" means only that she's growing old
"T" is for the tears she shed to save us from bad,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to us.
A word that means the world to us.

ReplyDeleteWay back in the 1960s, my Grandma had a print of that poem on her wall. The first letter of each line was foil embossed and of course vertically spelled out M O T H E R. It's a pleasure to read that old poem again here on your blog!
