Don LaFontaine Dies at 68.
Don LaFontaine was an American voice actor famous for recording over 5,000 movie trailors,tv commercials, network promotions, and sporting events. His signature voice was both ominous and sonorous. Due to the sheer volume of trailer voice overs LaFontaine recorded,he became identified with the phrase "in a world..." which has been used in movie trailers so frequently it became cliche' which he parodied in a recent commerical for Geico Insurance. I can remember hearing his voice in SO MANY things it's amazing. He died on September 6 2008 at 68 of lung related illness.
