You know I love me some cakes. This would so be me in the store saying these too.

TODAYS CHUCKLES
WINTOUR IS COMING
The undisputed queen of the fashion and ice world turns 72 today.
Where would the fashion world be without Dame Anna Wintour? Vogue's legendary editrix has truly changed the game, has been at the helm for 31 year and by the looks of things, she intends to keep it that way. Whether you love her like I do, or hate her, their is no denying that this woman set standards and took her position and didn't need the approval of a man....in a time women just didn't have huge positions like this and for so long. When a man does this he is ambitious. But a woman is a power hungry bitch. She got balls, and I love that she won't let a man tell her no, and how can one not respect her for the empire she has resided over. Anna wasn't always the elusive and cold ice queen in Chanel suits with a patent-worthy icy stare that leaves half of Conde Nast shaking in their last season Prada. Their were rumors that she and Bob Marley had a hot and heavy affair in the late 70's. While she may not be the London party girl anymore, she certainly still has a wild side, and I bet she can throw'em back like the best of them. I'd be willing to knock back a few stiff ones with her one night, and listen to some good dirty gossip about everyone. Wintour started her career in fashion at 15. What were you and I doing ar 15? I know some things I was doing and I won't mention it here. Wintour then went on to become the editor of two British publications, improving them greatly and doubling their fortunes and readerships before moving up in the ranks to become the editor of British Vogue and then ultimately, the American Vogue and has been since. In the meantime she was became the Chief Content Officer and the Artistic Director of Conde Nast. Not bad for some party girl model from the nightlife of London. Now 31 years and I still can't get enough of her. That signature blunt bob cut and the sunglasses....and she consistently shows that she is not afraid to push boundaries in the world of fashion. And how bad can she be? She worked with both Grace Coddington and Andre Leon Tally...two colorful characters that bit her ass but could also make her laugh. And by giving a damn about representation and female empowerment, Anna Wintour has become a fearless voice for woman everywhere.

AMORE ITALIA
Italy is getting it's own Drag Race Italia to premiere in later November. It seems the franchise just keeps going and who in hell can keep up? But I firmly believe this season will set many statements and prescience with what is going on in Italy currently. Firstly , it's exciting that yet another legendary queen was chosen to host, and will be very hands on like Fred and Supremme...Priscillia!

MOOD BOARD
It was a weekend. The Lad was here for one of our reunions since mid summer, and it was very relaxing watching and listening to Hallows music and vegging, watching nothing but horror movies and enjoying some tomfoolery. The Lad went on to visit family in NJ and will return later in the week as we take a overnight trip to Fallingwater. After the year before last, when my neighborhood last had tricks or treats because of the pandemic, it was resumed last night, as ours is always held on Hallows Day, and I do believe the parents were relived I was not planted out in the yard, sitting like Karen Walker, poring gin into the pumpkins for the little ankle biters, although I did notice many adults took advantage. This year no mini bottles of liquor. It was Ghirardelli squares and popcorn balls left on the door knob in a basket with a help yourself sign. I don't get many children as there aren't many in the neighborhood like other suburbs....but I heard New Hope was MOBBED, as was Lambertville. They generally even shut down whole streets to accept the crowds. Here many had the option to not go door to door if they didn't want to, but we had policemen on corners handing out candy, to cut down on the door to door interaction, but I think many just put the candy out in baskets like I did. With Halloween past, tomorrow brings about All Souls Day, or Day of the Dead, a day of prayer and remembrance for the souls of those who have died. Practitioners of the tradition often remember deceased loved ones in various ways on the day. I will most likely remember several dear friends who passed of Covid this year as well as our dear Anne Marie...and I will think of times I spent with them. I know I could feel the presence of Anne Marie yesterday for day of music here. I heard a collective sigh of relief that ABBA didn't have any Halloween classics. Some of todays images are from my time last week in Philly along Fairmont Park for the Laurel Hill concert.
